Techno clubs in Bali: where house and techno play

House and techno in Bali centre on three venues: Savaya on the Uluwatu cliffs, Zumana's beach at Sunset Bay, Kuta, and Desa Kitsuné's garden in Canggu. The sound follows each night's artist.

Bali's house and techno nights centre on three venues from the same group: Savaya, the clifftop club in Uluwatu that calls itself "one of the world's leading destinations for electronic music"; Zumana, the beach club at Sunset Bay in Kuta; and Desa Kitsuné, whose garden in Canggu parties every Tuesday and Friday. None of them is a dark warehouse — all three dance in the open air — and none plays one genre all week: the sound follows the night's artist, so choose the night, not just the venue.

Savaya: headliners above the ocean

Savaya sits 100 metres above the Indian Ocean on the cliffs of Pecatu, on the Bukit peninsula, with pools and The Cube framing the horizon. DJ Mag's Top 100 Clubs named it the number-one club in Asia three years running (2024–2026) and fifth in the world in 2026.

Its own listings describe its guests in the language of melodic house and techno, Afro house, and deep techno blended with chill-out and downtempo sounds. The week runs from Last Light, the Monday sunset set from The Cube, through Savaya's own Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights, to a Friday rotation (Southern Tribe once a month, the monthly Full Moon on some Fridays) and weekends given mostly to international headliners.

Zumana: from sunset into the night, on the sand

Zumana is Savaya Group's beach club at Sunset Bay, with an open-air dance floor beside the beachfront daybeds and pools, and ZENÍA, Daniel Popper's 10-metre sculpture, at its centre. Its launch announcement describes "a musical identity built around international programming and the natural transition from sunset into night."

Wednesdays and Fridays are headliner nights. Saturday is Ritual of the Sun, usually with a guest. Sunday to Tuesday are Zumana's regular days, and Thursday rotates — including Made in Kuta once a month, "bringing together local talent, music, food, and culture".

Desa Kitsuné: a garden, two nights a week

Desa Kitsuné is a lifestyle village in Canggu, and its parties take over the Garden every Tuesday and Friday, "rain or shine". Tuesdays bring guest DJs. Fridays are about "celebrating and supporting local talent… DJs are Bali based from international backgrounds." Mixmag Asia, in 2024, described the Garden coming alive on those two nights "with a diverse range of beat purveyors".

Which night for which taste

  • Built around the sunset: Savaya's Last Light on a Monday, or Zumana's Ritual of the Sun on a Saturday.
  • A big international name: Savaya at the weekend, or Zumana on a Wednesday or a Friday.
  • The island's own DJs: Desa Kitsuné on a Friday, or Zumana's Made in Kuta Thursday.
  • A smaller, garden-sized night: Desa Kitsuné on a Tuesday, for guest DJs in the Garden.
  • Something on a quiet weeknight: Savaya's own Tuesday to Thursday nights, or Zumana's regular days.

The days are the venues' usual week, not a promise for a given date; the full day-by-day is in Bali guestlist by day.

How to know what a night will sound like

  1. Open the night's page. Each date on the calendar above names its artist or its concept.
  2. Listen before you choose. A recent set by the night's artist tells you more than any genre label.
  3. Read the concept, not just the venue. A sunset session and a headline night at the same club are two different evenings.
  4. Check the terms on the same page. The biggest headliner nights are often ticketed only, with no guestlist. A Guestlist button means that date has a list; free entry runs before the cutoff on the page, or during the afternoon window on Zumana's regular days.

If you would rather a nightclub in town

Two clubs in Seminyak are nightclubs in the classic sense, in town rather than on a cliff or a beach. MU:IN is built around a towering sound system, immersive lasers and a stage that puts the DJ in the middle of the crowd; Les Toilettes is the K-Club Group's nightclub on Jalan Petitenget. Both are 21+. More by area in the best nightclubs in Bali.

Before you go

  • Age: all three venues are 21+, with ID.
  • Dress: smart casual at all three, with no sportswear or beer-branded singlets; Zumana and Desa Kitsuné also refuse flip-flops, and Desa Kitsuné refuses hard-sole shoes and boots. See the Bali club dress code.
  • Guestlist: free to join, registered individually for each night, and never a guarantee of entry.
  • Tables: the only reserved space; the venue sets the minimum spend for each night, and a table is yours once the venue confirms it.
  • The ride: the three are in Uluwatu, Kuta and Canggu, and a car with driver is the simple way between them.

Torn between the three? Savaya, Zumana and Desa Kitsuné compared sets them side by side.

Pick the night and tell the concierge: FirstBali sends the guestlist link for it, or books a table with the venue, which confirms it.
