Yacht charter in Bali: private boats and how to book one

A Bali yacht charter with FirstBali means the boat to yourselves: a sunset and party cruise, a full day to Nusa Penida, a birthday or a dinner at sea. How to choose, what to send, what is confirmed.

A yacht charter in Bali through FirstBali is a private boat for your group, with its crew: no shared deck, no other passengers. The catalogue has eight trips, from Private yacht — sunset & party cruise and Private yacht — full-day island hopping to a birthday at golden hour, a dinner for two at sea and a fishing day. You tell the concierge the occasion and the date; the operator confirms availability and the amount, and the sea has the last word on the day.

The charters in the catalogue

Each one is private. Grouped by what the day is for:

Celebrate on the water

  • Private yacht — sunset & party cruise: the yacht to yourselves, sunset hunting along the coast, music on board. Crew, guide, drinks and snacks included.
  • Birthday at golden hour: the yacht to yourselves, at the hour the light drops.
  • Dinner for two at sea: a three-course dinner served on board a private yacht.

See the islands

  • Private yacht — full-day island hopping: to Nusa Penida for Manta Point, Crystal Bay, snorkelling and water activities. Crew, guide, gear, drinks and snacks included.
  • Nusa Lembongan at sundown: a private cruise and snorkelling before the day goes.
  • Manta rays, Nusa Penida: half a day snorkelling where the mantas pass.
  • Nusa Penida, full day: the crossing, then the island on foot.

Out to sea

  • Private fishing charter: a boat and its crew for the day, offshore from Bali.

Trip by trip, Bali boat trips goes into each one, and the Bali sunset cruise guide covers the evening yacht in detail.

Choosing the right charter

Start from the occasion, not the boat:

  • A group celebration — a birthday, a hens or a bachelor party: the sunset and party cruise, with music on board.
  • A couple: the dinner for two at sea, or the birthday at golden hour.
  • Families and swimmers: the full-day island hopping yacht, or the half day with the mantas.
  • People who would rather walk than swim: Nusa Penida, full day, with the island on foot.
  • Anglers: the fishing charter.

If only part of the group wants to be on the water, the others can spend the day at a beach club such as Le Bleu in Nusa Dua instead.

What to send the concierge

The more we know, the faster the operator answers:

  1. The trip you want, and a second choice.
  2. The date, plus a spare date if you have one.
  3. How many you are, with children and weak swimmers noted.
  4. The occasion: a birthday, a proposal, a company outing.
  5. Where you are staying, so the car to the boat and back can be arranged — see the transport page.
  6. Anything special: diets, a cake, decorations. We ask the operator what can be arranged; nothing is promised until they say yes.

What gets confirmed, and by whom

  • The operator confirms the boat, the date and the amount. FirstBali never quotes a price; we pass on what the operator confirms.
  • The charter is yours once the operator has confirmed it. A deposit, if there is one, follows the operator's terms and is not a confirmation by itself.
  • The captain decides on the day. The UK government's travel advice for Indonesia notes that sea conditions can change rapidly and that safety standards vary between providers. If the captain says no, the trip moves.

So keep a spare day for any trip that matters, and never plan a charter on the morning of a flight. Life jackets that fit small children are not always on board; bring your own. In an emergency in Indonesia, call 112.

After the boat

A sunset cruise ends as the evening starts. Two of FirstBali's partners suit the night after:

  • Zumana, the Savaya Group's beach club at Sunset Bay in Kuta, 21+ and smart casual.
  • Savaya, on the Uluwatu clifftop, strictly 21+.

Each night's terms are on its page; a table is the only reserved space, and it is yours once the venue confirms it.
