Updated October 15, 2026 · 5 min read

The best restaurants in Canggu depend on the evening. For seafood in a Riviera mood, Giselle on Jalan Tanah Barak. For Mediterranean cooking over fire, Sazón at Regent Bali Canggu on Batu Bolong. For a table by the ocean, the resort's Beach House and CURE Bali. For Latin American and Mediterranean plates in a village setting, Ina Ré at Desa Kitsuné. For a dinner that turns into a party, Berawa's restaurants, which have their own guide. FirstBali books all of them through the concierge.

Quick picks by occasion

  • Seafood, and a party after dinner at the weekend: Giselle.
  • Fire, shared plates and paella: Sazón.
  • Dinner facing the sea: CURE Bali and the Beach House at Regent Bali Canggu.
  • A group, with a private room: Ina Ré, or CURE Bali's private dining room.

  • Steak or Japanese: Aged & Butchered and Miss Fish, in Berawa.

Seafood and the Riviera: Giselle

Giselle was created by a group of friends with roots in hospitality, who call it "a house for friends, strangers, and stories". The mood is the Riviera brought to Bali, across a dining room and a courtyard under the trees. Seafood leads: crudos, a seafood platter, Hokkaido scallop with salsa verde, madai sashimi, charcoal-grilled red seabream and flambéed fish, alongside homemade pasta such as truffle tortellini. Part of the restaurant can be reserved for a group, and on Friday and Saturday nights Club 55 takes over after dinner. More in the Giselle guide.

By the ocean: Regent Bali Canggu

Regent Bali Canggu is IHG's beachfront resort on Batu Bolong, and four of its restaurants answer four different evenings.

Sazón is the resort's neighbourhood Mediterranean hideaway, led by Chef Andrew Walsh, whose CURE in Singapore earned a Michelin star, with Chef Tude, who was born in Bali. The menu is built on fire and sharing: grilled flatbreads, citrus-dressed seafood, slow-cooked meats and fire-roasted vegetables, with sangrias, wines and agave spirits. Its paella masterclass is for two or more, booked ahead; Sazón Fiesta pairs dinner and a big paella with a live DJ, and Disco De Barrio plays house, funk and nu-disco on Fridays and Saturdays. On Sundays it serves a Spanish brunch.

CURE Bali, also led by Andrew Walsh, is modern European cooking shaped by Asian influence, served to share: seafood, premium meats and seasonal produce, with curing used to deepen the flavour. Its cocktail bar, Bar Nua, carries the evening on, and a private dining room takes small celebrations.

The Beach House pairs its pool and the ocean breeze with craft cocktails and seafood, and Taru, the resort's signature restaurant, reinterprets Indonesian dishes with modern techniques beside the pool, alongside international plates.

Latin America meets the Mediterranean: Ina Ré

Ina Ré is the restaurant of Desa Kitsuné, the lifestyle village on Jalan Munduk Catu. Chilean executive chef Cristian Encina cooks paellas to share, ceviches, tacos, empanadas and wood-fired meats such as the Stockyard tomahawk, in a space that draws on Balinese arts and crafts, with handmade materials and weavings. Private dining rooms take groups, Sunday brunch has its own menu, and so do Courtyard Saturdays. On Tuesdays and Fridays the village's Garden turns into a 21+ party, so dinner at Ina Ré can run straight into it.

Breakfast to dinner: Zai Cafe

Zai Cafe, on Jalan Pantai Batu Bolong, is modern Mediterranean and Middle Eastern from breakfast through dinner. Mornings bring flatbreads, a Greek salad with homemade feta, bowls and dips — hummus, beetroot hummus, babaganoush, tzatziki. In the evening the menu turns to octopus with harissa and orzo, or grilled prawns with a passion fruit sauce. Ceremonial matcha goes into drinks and desserts, with Matcha Monday to show for it, and on Fridays a DJ sets the mood.

Berawa: the party dinners, steak and Japanese

Berawa gathers several of Canggu's restaurants on three streets, and several of them turn dinner into the night out. BELLA, Moi and Jade by Todd English each change mood as the evening goes on; Riviera Bistro is the candlelit choice with a long wine list; MîA is modern Asian for sharing; Miss Fish has an omakase counter; Aged & Butchered grills dry-aged cuts over charcoal. The dishes, chefs and weekly nights of each are in where to eat in Berawa.

The moody, stylish room adds a sake fountain, an extensive wine collection and an outdoor bar area. An address built around the grill, for an evening of serious steak.

Before and after dinner

A Canggu evening usually starts at sunset. In Berawa, Finns and Atlas are on the same road as several of these restaurants; on Batu Bolong, the Beach House at Regent Bali Canggu faces the same sea. After dinner, The Shady Pig, a speakeasy on Jalan Pantai Berawa, hides behind an unmarked door and asks for a password. The whole evening, from sunset to late, is mapped in Canggu after dark.

How to book a table in Canggu

  • Weekends and high season: book ahead, especially on Friday and Saturday, when Giselle, Sazón and Berawa's restaurants turn into a night out.
  • Groups: say the number in the first message. A table for ten is a seating plan the restaurant has to arrange, and some, like Ina Ré and CURE Bali, have private rooms.
  • A restaurant not listed here, in Pererenan or elsewhere: ask anyway. The concierge takes the request and checks what can be arranged.
  • The car: Canggu's roads get busy towards sunset. A driver who waits keeps the evening simple.

Tell the concierge the date, the number and the kind of evening. We ask the restaurant on your behalf, and the table is yours once it confirms.
