Bali airport transfer: Ngurah Rai to your villa with a driver

A Bali airport transfer with FirstBali: a driver waiting at Ngurah Rai with your name, luggage handled, the flight tracked, and the right car for your group. What to send, and what to do before landing.

A Bali airport transfer with FirstBali means a driver waiting for you at Ngurah Rai with your name on a sign, your luggage handled, and a private car straight to your villa or hotel. Your flight is tracked, so a delay does not leave you stranded. Send the concierge your flight, your group and your address; the car is arranged from the partner fleet and confirmed before you fly.

How the transfer works

Ngurah Rai is Bali's international airport, in the south of the island. Once you are through immigration and customs, the driver is there with your name on the sign. Luggage goes into the car with you, and the trip is private: no shared shuttle, no stops for other passengers. The driver takes you to the address you gave, whether that is a villa in Canggu, a resort in Nusa Dua or a hotel in Uluwatu.

Because flights are tracked, the driver adjusts to an early or late landing. If your plans change — a missed connection, a new flight — tell the concierge and the pickup moves with it.

Which car for which arrival

The fleet FirstBali works with has cars with a driver for every kind of arrival:

  • A couple or a small family — Toyota Avanza / Xenia or Mitsubishi Xpander.
  • A family with a lot of luggage — Toyota Innova Zenix or Toyota Fortuner.
  • A group — the Toyota Hiace Premio minibus, or two cars.
  • Arriving in comfort — the Toyota Alphard Facelift, a chauffeured MPV.

Say how many people and how many suitcases, and mention surfboards, golf bags or a pram. If you need child seats, ask: the concierge checks what can be arranged for your car. Every vehicle is delivered to your villa or the airport, and photos on the transport page are illustrative of the model.

Before you land

A transfer is smooth only if the paperwork is. The UK government's travel advice for Indonesia lists what to check, and most of it applies whatever your passport:

  1. Passport — valid at least six months after the date you arrive, with two blank pages.
  2. Visa — apply online before you leave and make sure it is approved before you arrive. The visa on arrival is single entry and needs proof of an onward or return journey.
  3. All Indonesia arrival card — the online customs and health declaration, filled in shortly before arrival. It is free: avoid other websites that ask for payment.
  4. Bali tourist levy — required for foreign tourists arriving in Bali, payable online or on arrival.

Check your own government's advice too; rules change, and your nationality matters.

Why a driver rather than the queue

The same UK advice notes that foreign nationals involved in traffic incidents may be vulnerable to extortion, and suggests a private driver or a car with a driver. After a long flight, that is also the simplest way to reach a villa whose address is a lane rather than a street. A driver who knows the island finds it.

What to send the concierge

  • Flight number and date, plus the arrival airport if you are connecting.
  • Names and number of travellers, and the name for the sign.
  • Luggage: number of cases and anything oversized.
  • Address of the villa or hotel, with a map pin if you have one.
  • A phone number on WhatsApp that works when you land.

The concierge confirms the car before you fly. An assistant answers at any hour, and the team through the Bali day and evening.

Landing late at night

Late arrivals are common in Bali, and they are the ones to settle early. Send the request before you fly rather than from the arrivals hall: an assistant answers at any hour, but the team that arranges the car works through the Bali day and evening. A pickup confirmed the day before means the driver is already there when you land, whatever the hour, and you go straight from the door to the car.

After the airport

The same driver can stay with you for the week, or come back for a night out. Private driver in Bali explains a driver by the day and getting around Bali the other options. If you land with a table already booked, your first night in Bali has the rest.

Questions we get asked

+Can FirstBali pick me up at Bali airport?

Yes. A driver waits at Ngurah Rai with your name on a sign, handles your luggage and takes you privately to your villa or hotel. Send the concierge your flight and address.

+What happens if my flight is delayed?

Flights are tracked, so the driver adjusts to the actual landing. If you change flights, tell the concierge and the pickup moves with it.

+Which car should I book for a family with luggage?

A Toyota Innova Zenix or Fortuner with a driver suits most families; a large group takes the Hiace Premio minibus or two cars. Tell the concierge how many cases you have.

+How much is an airport transfer in Bali?

The rate depends on the car and the address, and is given on request once the concierge knows both. Nothing is quoted before that.

+What do I need to fill in before landing in Bali?

According to UK travel advice: an approved visa or proof of onward travel for a visa on arrival, the free online All Indonesia arrival card, and the Bali tourist levy, online or on arrival. Check your own government's advice.

+Can I get child seats in the car?

Ask when you book: the concierge checks what can be arranged for your car.

Want us to arrange it?

Tell the concierge what you have in mind — a table, a guestlist, a villa, a driver. The assistant answers at any hour; the team takes over from 9am to midnight Bali time.
