Le Bleu Nusa Dua: beach club, sunbeds and how to book

Le Bleu by K Club is a blue-and-white beachfront restaurant and beach club on Nusa Dua Beach: seafood, sunbeds and cabanas, a weekend kids' corner and a Sunday DJ. How to book a seat.

Le Bleu by K Club is a beachfront restaurant and beach club on Nusa Dua Beach, in the ITDC resort area, run by the K-Club Group — the same group behind Sardine in Seminyak and Akar near Ubud. The look is the French Riviera by way of Bali, all blue and white. It presents itself as a beachfront dining and social club, and that is the right way to read it: a long lunch, an afternoon on a sunbed, dinner by the water, with a DJ on Sundays rather than a party every night.

The seats

Le Bleu has three ways to sit on the beach, and the indoor and terrace tables behind them:

  • Beach chairs, the simplest seat on the sand.
  • Sunbeds, with a welcome drink for each guest.
  • Cabanas, made for a couple, with welcome drinks for both.
  • The terrace deck, the lounge and the indoor dining room for a meal out of the sun — the indoor room is the answer on a rainy day.

Each beach seat has a minimum spend that Le Bleu sets. FirstBali asks for the amount on your date and passes on what the venue confirms; nothing is quoted before that.

The beach side comes with changing rooms and showers, beach towels, beach games and a beach volleyball court, so a day in swimwear followed by dinner dressed for it is easy to manage.

The kitchen

Seafood leads: lobster linguine and yellowfin tuna tataki are typical of the menu, with tapas to share. Le Bleu's own answers to the questions people ask:

  • Vegetarian and vegan dishes are on the menu, and a vegetarian set menu appears in festive seasons.
  • Halal options exist, prepared with separate utensils and ingredients — pork is also served, so say so when booking.
  • Allergies are asked about before the kitchen cooks.
  • Children have a menu of their own.

For a couple, Le Bleu also sets a candlelit dinner on the beach with its own set menu, by reservation — a proposal or an anniversary is the obvious use.

The week

The weekly programme mixes yoga, cocktail workshops, beach games and festive Sunday gatherings with a DJ. Sunday is the festive day.

Families have a reason to come at the weekend: on Saturdays and Sundays, children play at Le Petit Corner while the adults eat, and the team can advise on optional paid activities for children and on nanny options.

Private events: Le Bleu can be reserved exclusively, and it hosts weddings, engagements, elopements and anniversaries, corporate events and photo shoots. Tell the concierge the occasion and the size of the group, and we ask the venue.

Who it suits

  • Families staying in Nusa Dua, especially at the weekend.
  • Couples, for a beach dinner or a slow afternoon.
  • A group celebrating something that wants a lunch that turns into a sunbed and a drink rather than a club.
  • Anyone staying in the resorts around it who wants to leave the hotel without crossing the island.

If you want a beach club built around the party, look at the best beach clubs in Bali instead; Le Bleu is the calm one.

When to book

Book furthest ahead for the weekend, when Saturday and Sunday bring the families and the Sunday DJ, for high season, and for a cabana. The candlelit beach dinner and private hire need notice. Say if you are flexible on the date — the venue answers on availability and you choose.

Getting there and back

Le Bleu is inside the ITDC area of Nusa Dua, on the east side of the Bukit peninsula, among the large resorts — in the venue's own words, steps from them. Parking is free. From the resorts of Nusa Dua and Tanjung Benoa it is a short ride; from Jimbaran or Uluwatu a reasonable one; from Seminyak or Canggu it is a long drive across the south of the island, so plan the day around it. A sunset at Rock Bar in Jimbaran after a beach afternoon here makes a good southern day. A driver who waits keeps it simple — see our cars.

How FirstBali books it

Tell the concierge the date, how many you are, whether children are coming and whether you want a sunbed, a cabana or a table. Le Bleu answers on availability and the minimum for that seat; you decide. The seat is yours once Le Bleu confirms it.
