Rock Bar is AYANA Bali's cliffside bar in Jimbaran, stretched along the rocks just above the ocean. You reach it by inclinator, watch the sun set over the sea, then stay as the DJs play on. The bar pours cocktails inspired by the colours of the sea alongside Mediterranean tapas built on Jimbaran Bay seafood. It belongs to a resort, but you do not need to stay there: visitors who are not hotel guests can reserve.

Who can sit where

Rock Bar is a hotel bar first, and the seating says so. AYANA keeps two areas for its own guests:

  • The Round Deck, the circular floor near the sea where the DJ plays, is for villa guests only.
  • The Top Bar, the open-air counter reaching towards the sea, is for guests staying at the resort and its sister hotels on the estate.

Visitors choose from the rest:

  • Dinner tables, for the dinner menu served after sunset.
  • Sofas, for a small group sharing tapas and drinks.
  • Tapas tables and counter tops, for a drink and plates to share.
  • Day beds, made for a couple.

Visitors pay a minimum spend on these seats; AYANA sets it and it does not apply to hotel guests. FirstBali asks for the amount on your date and passes on what the venue confirms. AYANA also notes that some seat types cannot be reserved in advance.

The catch: the sunset

Hotel guests get priority reservations for sunset time. For a visitor, that means the sunset seats are the ones to ask for earliest — days ahead in high season and at weekends — and that being flexible on the day helps. If the sunset is fully taken, an evening table after it is the next best thing: dinner after dark with the waves below and the DJs carrying on.

For a large party or a private event, AYANA handles the request through its events team. Tell the concierge the group size and the occasion, and we ask.

Dress code and house rules

AYANA publishes the rules, and they are stricter than at a beach club:

  • Smart attire at all times. No tank tops or sleeveless shirts, no surf shorts, and no clothing with alcohol-brand logos.
  • No large bags or backpacks, for security reasons. Travel light.
  • Card or QR payment only. Rock Bar accepts credit cards, debit cards and QR payment — no cash.
  • Drinking age. Rock Bar publishes no age rule on its page, so ask the concierge before bringing a teenager.

When to come

The sunset is the reason most people go, so arrive well before it: the inclinator and the walk through the resort take a little time, and the last of the light is the point. After sunset, Rock Bar changes key — dinner, cocktails and DJs — and many people make an evening of it. On a grey or rainy day the view is the whole show, so keep the date flexible if you can.

Getting there and back

Rock Bar is inside AYANA Bali, on Jalan Karang Mas Sejahtera in Jimbaran, not far from the airport, in the south of the island. Visitors make their own way to the resort lobby, walk a short way through the resort, then take the inclinator to the bar. From Jimbaran, Nusa Dua and Uluwatu it is a reasonable drive; from Seminyak or Canggu, leave early, because the sunset does not wait for the traffic.

Many people leave together after sunset, so have your driver wait rather than look for a car at the lobby. Rock Bar pairs well with a day in the south: an afternoon on the beach at Le Bleu in Nusa Dua, then the sunset here — see our cars for a driver for the day.

How FirstBali books it

Tell the concierge the date, how many you are, whether you want the sunset or the evening, and which kind of seat. AYANA answers on availability and the minimum for that seat; you decide. The seat is yours once AYANA confirms it.
