Atlas and Finns sit on the same road in Berawa, Canggu, and both face the sunset over the same beach, but they are not the same day out. Atlas is one enormous site built around a vast pool, beanbags on the sand, daily shows and its own nightclub. Finns is adults-only and feels like a village of separate party zones, restaurants and bars, several of them free to enter. Pick Atlas for scale and spectacle, Finns for an adults-only day that moves from zone to zone. FirstBali books both through the concierge.

The short answer

  • A big group that has not agreed on anything: Atlas. The site is large enough to absorb everyone, and the shows give the day a shape.
  • Adults only, no children around: Finns, which says so on its own site.
  • A drink at sunset without booking a seat: Finns, whose free-entry bars ask for no booking amount.
  • Pool, sand and a show from one bed: Atlas, where the daybed zones face the pool, the beach or the stage.
  • A night that carries on indoors: Atlas, with its Super Club on the same address.

Atmosphere

Atlas bills itself as the world's biggest beach club, and the scale is the point. The day runs around a vast pool with DJs playing through the afternoon, and the entertainment is built on the four elements — water, air, fire and earth — with shows across the day. A beachfront padel court and a flying fox that carries guests from the padel area to the pool bar add to the feeling of a festival rather than a bar.

Finns stretches along the beachfront under a bamboo structure and calls what it does a party every day: resident DJs and live singers keep it going from afternoon into evening. Rather than one big space, it is a run of separate venues — FINNS Beach Party, FINNS Garden Party, FINNS Grey Goose Party and FINNS VIP Party among them — each with its own mood, pools and bars.

Layout and seats

Atlas splits its seats into five zones. The Deck is the restaurant overlooking the beach, with sofas and tables. Deck Side has dry daybeds for those who want the view without the water. Pool Side, with daybeds and sofas, is the heart of the day. Party Side sits front and centre to the stage, and VVIP Party Side adds premium service and front-row access. The signature beanbags sit on the sand facing the sea, and the pool bar is built across two levels.

Finns offers daybeds and private cabanas across its zones, swim-up bars, dance floors and several restaurants. Its free-entry bars — the Ocean Bar, the Garden Bar, the Long Bar and others — are where you can simply turn up for a drink and the sunset.

Families or adults only

This is the clearest difference. Finns is adults-only. Atlas publishes no child policy on its beach club pages, so ask before planning a day there with children, and read the family-friendly beach clubs in Bali, which names the clubs that do publish one.

Food and drink

Atlas puts its dining at The Deck, where the chefs' menu runs from relaxed bites to more refined plates, from lunch to a golden-hour dinner; the menu goes from local flavours to international favourites. The two-level pool bar serves cocktails and cold drinks to the sand on one side and the pool on the other.

Finns spreads food across several kitchens, with separate menus for each party zone, a Beach Party Restaurant and Monsoon, plus a Champagne Bar in the VIP area. You eat where you sit, in whichever zone you have chosen.

After dark

At Finns, the sunset is the turning point of a party that simply carries on, with the DJs and singers on into the evening. At Atlas, the beach club's shows run from day into night, and the Atlas Super Club at the same address — which it calls the biggest nightclub in Bali — takes over for those who want a club proper.

How booking differs

Both venues sell reserved seats, but the terms are each club's own. Atlas sets its daybeds and sofas by zone and also sells a day pass with pool access. Finns sets its own terms per seat, including what a booking covers. Either way, the amount depends on the seat, the day and the event, and no figure is worth quoting before the club confirms it for your date.

Tell the concierge which club, the date, how many you are and the seat you want. The club confirms availability and its terms; you decide. The seat is yours once the club confirms it. Weekends, sunset and high season are the days to ask early.

Can you do both?

Yes. They share Jalan Pantai Berawa, so a long afternoon at one and a drink at the other is an easy plan, and Berawa's restaurants are on the same road for dinner afterwards — see where to eat in Berawa. The road gets busy towards sunset, so a driver who waits makes the evening simpler.
