A daybed in Bali is a reserved bed at a beach club, sized for a small group, that you keep for the whole day — usually against a minimum spend on food and drink rather than an entrance fee. Book one ahead for a weekend, a sunset or high season; on a quiet weekday there is more choice. FirstBali asks the club for you through the concierge, and the bed is yours once the club confirms it.
Daybed, sunbed or cabana?
The words change from club to club, but the seats fall into three kinds.
- Sunbed — a lounger for one, by the pool or on the sand. At Le Bleu in Nusa Dua, sunbeds and beach chairs are counted per person and come with a welcome drink.
- Daybed — a wide bed or sofa for a small group, with service brought to you. This is the seat most people mean when they say they want to book a beach club.
- Cabana — a covered, more private space for a bigger group, with more shade and more room. Finns, White Rock and Le Bleu all list cabanas.
Some clubs add their own formats: beanbags on the sand at Atlas, enclosed and air-conditioned party suites at White Rock, sofas almost everywhere. With small children or a long day ahead, shade matters more than position: a cabana or a covered spot beats a bed in full sun.
How the minimum spend works
At most beach clubs the bed is not rented. It carries a minimum spend: an amount you commit to spend on food and drink during your day, which the club sets for that seat.
- It usually belongs to the seat, not the person. A bigger bed carries a bigger minimum. Some clubs count differently: Le Bleu sets its sunbeds per person and its cabanas per pair.
- It moves with the calendar. The club sets it by day, season and event, so a sunset bed on a Saturday in high season is not the same as on a weekday in the quiet months.
- What comes with it varies. White Rock includes welcome drinks, towels and amenities with its beds and suites; Le Bleu includes a welcome drink.
- Finns sets its own terms for each seat. Ask what applies to the bed you want — what is included and what is spent on the day — before you choose.
- A deposit is often asked on busy days to hold the bed. Ask how it is counted before you pay.
No honest source quotes a number without asking the club for your date, which is why FirstBali never does: the concierge asks, the club answers, you decide. More on the mechanics in how table booking works in Bali.
Which beach clubs have daybeds
Each club below describes its seats on its own site.

Its signature beanbags sit on the sand.
Finns Beach Club, Berawa, has daybeds and private cabanas across its party zones, and several bars with free entry where no booking is needed. It is adults-only.

El Kabron, on the Uluwatu cliffs, puts its daybeds and sofas in the Hedonism Lounge, the adults-only area by the infinity pool.
Atlas Beach Club
Beach clubs · Berawa
Atlas Beach Club sits on Berawa Beach and bills itself as the biggest beach club in the world. Its signature beanbags sit right on the sand facing the sea, beside a vast pool and a pool bar where DJs play through the day. Daybeds and sofas are spread across distinct zones, from The Deck restaurant overlooking the beach to the Party Side in front of the stage. Daily shows draw on the four elements, and a beachfront padel court and a 100-metre flying fox complete the site.
Finns Beach Club
Beach clubs · Berawa
FINNS Beach Club stretches along the beachfront at Berawa, in Canggu, under a bamboo structure designed by PBM Architecture. It is adults-only and divided into several party zones, from FINNS Beach Party and FINNS Garden Party to FINNS Grey Goose Party and FINNS VIP Party, with pools, swim-up bars, private cabanas, dance floors and restaurants spread across the site. Resident DJs and live singers keep an all-day party going every day, and the club also hosts private events, birthdays and corporate groups.
White Rock Beach Club
Beach clubs · Uluwatu
White Rock Beach Club sits on Melasti Beach in Ungasan, near Uluwatu, at the end of the cliff. Guests settle on daybeds, sofas or cabanas around a lagoon pool and a rock pool; families have a kids' pool and a kids' menu. There is a spa, a large covered restaurant serving local and international dishes, and enclosed, air-conditioned party suites overlooking the pool and the ocean. Resident DJs play every day, and foam parties run at weekends. The club also hosts weddings and events.
El Kabron
Beach clubs · Uluwatu
El Kabron stands on the limestone cliffs of Pecatu in Uluwatu, above the Indian Ocean, and has been open since 2011. Its sunset parties bring DJs with live saxophone, violin and trumpet, with the White Sunset Party, the Afro House Sunset Party and pool parties among the weekly regulars.
Le Bleu, on Nusa Dua Beach, offers beach chairs, sunbeds and cabanas on a calmer stretch of sand. Luna Beach Club, on the Tabanan cliffs inside Nuanu Creative City, sells daybed packages. Zumana, at Sunset Bay in Kuta, is built around beachfront daybeds, and it is 21+.
Le Bleu
Beach clubs · Nusa Dua
Le Bleu by K Club is a beachfront restaurant and beach club on Nusa Dua Beach, in the ITDC resort area, run by the K-Club Group. The look is French Riviera by way of Bali, all blue and white, with sunbeds, cabanas, terraces and an indoor dining room. The kitchen leans on seafood, from lobster linguine to yellowfin tuna tataki, with vegetarian and vegan options. The weekly programme mixes yoga, cocktail workshops, beach games and festive Sunday gatherings with a DJ.
Luna Beach Club
Beach clubs · Tabanan
Luna Beach Club is perched on the cliffs of the Tabanan coast, inside Nuanu Creative City by Nyanyi Beach, west of Canggu. Its bamboo architecture by Inspiral Architects won a Silver award for sustainable and green architecture at the 2024 International Architecture & Design Awards. The complex brings together two pools, jumping platforms and a water slide, Restaurant 369, the Utopia Cave Club and the Gardenia bamboo tree pods. DJs play through sunset, and evenings bring fire and light shows.

When to book
- Weekends, high season and the end of the year: as early as you can. The beds facing the sunset go first.
- Event days: as soon as the night is announced. Zumana's coming nights are on the events page.
- Weekdays outside high season: more choice, sometimes the same week.
- Flexible on the day? Say so. The club answers on availability and you pick the date that works.
What to send when you ask
- The club, or the area you are staying in.
- The date, and a second choice if you have one.
- How many adults, and any children with their ages — rules by age differ from club to club, as the family-friendly beach clubs guide shows.
- The seat: sunbed, daybed or cabana; sun or shade; pool, sand or stage.
- Whether you want a car there and back.
On the day
Arrive with time to settle before the light goes; the last hour before sunset is the reason most people booked. Bring photo ID: several clubs are adults-only or 21+, and the door can ask. Beachwear is fine by day, but evenings at some clubs follow a dress code. And book the ride home with the bed: a driver who waits is the easy end to a long day.
