Private dining room in Bali: where to eat behind a door

In FirstBali's catalogue, Ina Ré at Desa Kitsuné is the restaurant that lists private dining rooms for groups. The alternatives, from a chef's counter to a villa table, and how to ask.

Updated November 8, 2026 · 4 min read

If you want a private dining room in Bali, start with Ina Ré, the restaurant of Desa Kitsuné in Canggu: of the venues FirstBali books, it is the one whose description includes private dining rooms for groups. Elsewhere, "private" can mean a chef's counter, a room the venue sets aside on request, or a table at your own villa. FirstBali asks the venue for you through the concierge, and the room is yours once the venue confirms it.

What "private" can mean

People searching for a private dining room usually want one of four things:

  • A separate room with a door, for one group only.
  • A semi-private corner — a section of the restaurant set aside, without walls.
  • A counter with the chef, where the table is small and the service personal.
  • A dinner at home, in a villa, where no one else is there at all.

Say which one you have in mind. A venue that has no closed room may still be able to set something aside; the concierge asks the venue what it can host, rather than promising it.

Ina Ré at Desa Kitsuné: rooms for groups

Ina Ré sits inside Desa Kitsuné, the Savaya Group's lifestyle village on Jalan Munduk Catu, alongside Café Kitsuné and a Maison Kitsuné boutique. Chilean executive chef Cristian Encina brings together Mediterranean flavours and Latin American street food: paellas to share, ceviches, tacos, empanadas and wood-fired meats. The space draws on Balinese arts and crafts, with handmade materials, weavings and traditional motifs, and it includes private dining rooms for groups. Our Ina Ré private dining guide goes into the rooms themselves.

A private dinner, then the Garden

Every Tuesday and Friday the Garden at Desa Kitsuné becomes the party, rain or shine: guest DJs on Tuesdays, Bali-based DJs on Fridays. A group that dines in a private room on one of those nights is already in the village when the party starts. The party is a separate entry: 21+ with photo ID, smart casual, and either the night's guestlist, a ticket or a table, as shown on the night's page. "Mixed groups and couples are strongly preferred", and registration on a list does not guarantee complimentary entry.

Close alternatives

None of these is described as a private room, but each offers some of what people want from one:

  • Miss Fish, Berawa — the Omakase Bar is a chef-guided onyx counter, with a seasonal omakase that pairs Japanese technique with European and Latin American influences.
  • Koral at The Apurva Kempinski, Nusa Dua — set and tasting menus served beside the aquarium tanks, adults only at dinner.
  • White Rock Beach Club, near Uluwatu — enclosed, air-conditioned party suites overlooking the pool and the ocean; for a party by day more than a dinner. The club also hosts events.
  • Sardine and Les Toilettes, Seminyak — not private, but dinner and a late night happen at one address, which keeps a group together.

The villa option

For a dinner no one else sees, the table can be at your villa. FirstBali rents villas, and our guide to a private chef at a villa explains how that kind of evening is set up; the concierge checks what can be arranged for your date. It is also the only option on this page where the room, the music and the end of the evening are entirely yours, and where a car home can be ready at the door when you want it.

What to tell us

  1. The occasion — a birthday, a business dinner, a proposal or simply a group that wants quiet.
  2. The group — how many, any children, dietary needs.
  3. The kind of privacy — a closed room, a set-aside corner or a counter.
  4. What happens next — if a club follows, we book the table there too.

Our advice

  • Ask early for a weekend or the festive season.
  • Ask whether the venue proposes a set or tailored menu for a private room.
  • Any deposit follows the venue's terms and is not a confirmation; nothing is confirmed until the venue confirms it.

How FirstBali helps

Tell the concierge the date, the area and the four points above. An assistant answers at any hour, the team through the Bali day and evening; the team asks the venue what it can host and comes back with what it offers.
