Bali wedding welcome party: where to gather your guests

A Bali wedding welcome party gathers guests the night before. White Rock and Finns say they host events; Le Bleu, Rock Bar and Desa Kitsuné suit a first evening. How FirstBali asks each venue.

Updated November 8, 2026 · 4 min read

A wedding welcome party in Bali is the first evening your guests spend together, usually the night before the ceremony, when people have just landed and want to meet without a late night. The simplest formats are a sunset gathering at a beach club, drinks at a cliffside bar, or a reserved area at a garden venue. FirstBali does not plan weddings: it asks the venues that fit what they can host, books tables, and checks what can be arranged for transport.

What a welcome party needs

A welcome party is not the after party. Guests arrive from different flights, some with children or older relatives, and the wedding day comes next. That points to a few things:

  • An early, relaxed setting: sunset rather than the dance floor.
  • One place everyone can reach: close to where most guests are staying.
  • Room to mingle: a reserved area or several tables side by side, rather than one table at a club.
  • A gentle exit: guests who want to rest leave without breaking up the evening.

For the night after the ceremony, see our wedding after party guide.

Beach clubs that say they host events

White Rock Beach Club, on Melasti Beach in Ungasan near Uluwatu, states that it hosts weddings and events. Guests settle on daybeds, sofas or cabanas around a lagoon pool and a rock pool; there is a large covered restaurant, enclosed air-conditioned party suites overlooking the pool and the ocean, and a kids' pool and kids' menu, which matters when families travel for the wedding.

Finns Beach Club, on the beachfront at Berawa in Canggu, says it hosts private events, birthdays and corporate groups. It is adults-only, with pools, swim-up bars, private cabanas and restaurants across several zones. It suits a welcome party for a group of friends rather than a family gathering.

Sunset settings for a first evening

Le Bleu by K Club on Nusa Dua Beach is a beachfront restaurant and beach club in blue and white, with sunbeds, cabanas, terraces and an indoor dining room, and a seafood-led kitchen with vegetarian and vegan options. For weddings held in Nusa Dua, it keeps guests close to the resort area.

Rock Bar, AYANA Bali's cliffside bar in Jimbaran, is reached by inclinator; guests watch the sun set over the sea, with cocktails and Mediterranean tapas. Non-resident visitors can reserve, and payment is by card or QR only.

El Kabron on the Pecatu cliffs in Uluwatu has a Sunset Theater at the cliff edge set up for sunset dinners, alongside its Mediterranean restaurant.

Le Bleu

Le Bleu

Beach clubs · Nusa Dua

Le Bleu by K Club is a beachfront restaurant and beach club on Nusa Dua Beach, in the ITDC resort area, run by the K-Club Group. The look is French Riviera by way of Bali, all blue and white, with sunbeds, cabanas, terraces and an indoor dining room. The kitchen leans on seafood, from lobster linguine to yellowfin tuna tataki, with vegetarian and vegan options. The weekly programme mixes yoga, cocktail workshops, beach games and festive Sunday gatherings with a DJ.

Bars · Jimbaran

Rock Bar is AYANA Bali's cliffside bar in Jimbaran, stretching some 270 metres along the rocks above the ocean, with 880 seats spread over 22 areas. Guests reach it by inclinator, watch the sun set over the sea, then stay as the DJs play on. The bar pours cocktails inspired by the colours of the sea alongside Mediterranean tapas built on Jimbaran Bay seafood. Non-resident visitors can reserve; the Round Deck is kept for villa guests and the Top Bar for hotel guests. Payment by card or QR only.

El Kabron

El Kabron

Beach clubs · Uluwatu

El Kabron stands on the limestone cliffs of Pecatu in Uluwatu, above the Indian Ocean, and has been open since 2011. It has three parts: the Hedonism Lounge, an adults-only infinity-pool area with daybeds and sofas; the Sunset Theater at the cliff edge, set up for sunset dinners; and a Mediterranean restaurant serving seafood, oysters, paella and steak. Its sunset parties bring DJs with live saxophone, violin and trumpet, with the White Sunset Party, the Afro House Sunset Party and pool parties among the weekly regulars.

A garden welcome in Canggu

Desa Kitsuné, the Savaya Group's village in Canggu, puts Café Kitsuné, the Ina Ré restaurant and a Maison Kitsuné boutique in one garden. Its garden parties on Tuesdays and Fridays are 21+, so they suit a welcome evening only when every guest is of age; for a private format, the concierge asks the venue what it can host. Our Desa Kitsuné private events guide covers that side.

When the guests are a party crowd

If the wedding group is mostly friends who want to go out, a welcome night can be a table at a club. At Savaya on the Uluwatu clifftop or Zumana at Sunset Bay in Kuta, a table is the only reserved space, its minimum spend is set by the venue for each night, and the table is yours once the venue confirms it. Both are 21+ with a valid photo ID. Savaya's Monday "Last Light" is a sunset set from The Cube, which fits an early evening.

Five things to send the concierge

  1. The date and the area, ideally the wedding venue's area.
  2. The headcount, and whether children or guests under 21 are coming.
  3. The format: sunset drinks, a seated dinner, or tables at a party night.
  4. Who hosts: whether the couple covers the evening or guests order for themselves; the venue sets its own terms.
  5. Transport: where guests are staying. A van with driver carries a group together.

How FirstBali helps
