Second trip to Bali nightlife: the nights you missed

Back in Bali for a second trip? Swap the weekend headliner for Savaya's Last Light, try Desa Kitsuné on a Tuesday, Zumana's weeknights, a speakeasy behind a password and dinners that turn into a party.

On a second trip to Bali, go out on the nights you skipped the first time: Savaya on a Monday for Last Light or on a Sunday for People of the Sun, Desa Kitsuné's Tuesday garden party with guest DJs, Zumana's weeknight rotation, then the bars and dinners a first week rarely reaches. You already know the big names; this is how to know them differently.

Same clubs, different nights

A first trip tends to aim at the weekend headliner. The partner clubs run a full week, and the weeknights have their own character.

  • Savaya, on the clifftop in Pecatu: Last Light every Monday is a sunset set from The Cube, and Sundays are "People of the Sun". International headliners stay at the weekend.
  • Desa Kitsuné, in Canggu: the garden party runs on Tuesday and Friday, rain or shine. Tuesday brings guest DJs, Friday Bali-based DJs, so the two nights are not the same party twice.
  • Zumana, at Sunset Bay in Kuta: open daily, with Zumana Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, headliners on Wednesdays and Fridays, Ritual of the Sun on Saturdays, and "Made in Kuta" in its weeknight rotation.

The programmes change night by night; the events page shows what is actually on. For the full weekly map, see the week of parties guide.

Sit down this time

If you stood in the crowd last time, try the night from a table. A table is the only reserved space at the three partner clubs; its minimum spend is set by the venue for that night, and at Savaya and Zumana the maps say it includes food and beverage credit. At Savaya and Zumana it is also the only way to leave and come back in. The table booking guide explains how it works.

The bars a first week misses

  • The Shady Pig, in Berawa, is a speakeasy themed on old-time Birmingham bootleggers: it hides behind an unmarked door, and you need the password to get in.
  • Rock Bar, below AYANA in Jimbaran, runs along the rocks above the ocean, reached by inclinator; visitors who are not staying can reserve, and payment is by card or QR only.

Dinners that become the night

A second trip is a good moment to let dinner carry the evening.

  • Miss Fish, in Berawa: a seasonal omakase at the Omakase Bar, an onyx counter, then DJs later in the evening. Dress is smart casual.
  • Akar, north of Ubud: a charcoal-grill steakhouse in the jungle where Friday and Saturday dinners turn festive, with live DJs, dancers and a laser show.
  • Ina Ré, at Desa Kitsuné: Courtyard Saturdays have their own menu, and so does Sunday brunch.
Miss Fish

Miss Fish

Restaurants · Berawa

Miss Fish is a Japanese restaurant and late-night venue on Jalan Raya Semat in Berawa, Canggu, open since 2022. Executive Chef Carlos Barvo leads a seasonal omakase that pairs Japanese technique with European and Latin American influences. Guests choose between the Omakase Bar, a chef-guided onyx counter, the open-air Patio and the Lounge for cocktails and shared plates, and the bar holds more than 40 sakes and Japanese whiskies. Later in the evening, DJs take over. Dress code: smart casual.

Akar

Akar

Restaurants · Ubud

Akar, meaning “root”, is the steakhouse of K Club in Kedisan, Tegallalang, north of Ubud, set in the greenery of the jungle. Spread over two floors with two bars and an open kitchen, it grills Australian and Japanese cuts, Wagyu included, over charcoal, alongside seafood, charcoal-roasted bone marrow and a curated wine list. On Friday and Saturday nights dinner turns festive, with live DJs, dancers and a laser show. Akar has won Best Luxury Steakhouse in Indonesia at the World Luxury Restaurant Awards.

Ina Ré

Ina Ré

Restaurants · Canggu

Ina Ré is the restaurant of Desa Kitsuné, the lifestyle village on Jalan Munduk Catu in Canggu. Chilean executive chef Cristian Encina brings together Mediterranean flavours and Latin American street food: paellas to share, ceviches, tacos, empanadas and wood-fired meats such as the Stockyard tomahawk. The space draws on Balinese arts and crafts, with handmade materials, weavings and traditional motifs, and includes private dining rooms for groups. Sunday brunch has its own menu, and so do Courtyard Saturdays.

A different coast

If the first trip stayed in Seminyak or Canggu, look further out. Luna Beach Club sits on the cliffs of the Tabanan coast inside Nuanu Creative City, west of Canggu. Le Bleu, on Nusa Dua beach, mixes cocktail workshops, beach games and Sunday gatherings with a DJ into its weekly programme.

What has not changed

The rules at the door are the same as last time. The three partner clubs are 21+ with a valid photo ID, a passport or a driver's licence, and dress is smart casual. Their guestlists are the venues' own: each guest registers for the night on its page, joining is free, entry is complimentary before the cutoff shown there, and registration never guarantees entry. Some nights are ticketed only.

How FirstBali arranges it

Tell the concierge what you did last time and what you want to change: a quieter night, a table instead of standing room, a dinner that becomes the party. We ask the venues; a table is yours once the venue confirms it, and any deposit follows the venue's terms and is not a confirmation. An assistant answers at any hour, and the team follows up through the Bali day and evening.
