Is Desa Kitsuné worth it? The Canggu garden, honestly
Yes, if you want a party in a garden rather than a club: Desa Kitsuné, in Canggu, parties every Tuesday and Friday. It is 21+, strict on shoes, and best done with dinner on site first.

Yes, if what you want is a party in a garden rather than a club. Desa Kitsuné is a lifestyle village in the heart of Canggu, created by Savaya Group with the French-Japanese brand Maison Kitsuné, and every Tuesday and Friday its Garden becomes the party, "rain or shine". It is worth it most when you treat it as an evening rather than a late stop: dinner on the grounds, then the Garden — and when you know its rules, the strictest of Savaya Group's three venues on shoes, and earlier for men on the guestlist.

What you actually get
- A village, not a venue. Desa means village in Indonesian. On a 5,000 m² garden, Desa Kitsuné brings together Café Kitsuné, the Ina Ré restaurant, a Maison Kitsuné boutique and the Garden where the parties happen. The venue sums up its spirit as Bali's "relax, dine and celebrate" culture.
- Dinner on site. Ina Ré is open daily for lunch and dinner and, in its own words, "blends together South American street food culture and delicacies from the Mediterranean". Private dining rooms take groups.
- The Garden. Mixmag Asia, writing in 2024, described it as "an oasis featuring day beds, cabanas, pool-side bites, and bespoke cocktails" that "comes alive on Tuesdays & Fridays with a diverse range of beat purveyors".
- Two kinds of night. Tuesday brings guest DJs. Friday, "Desa Kitsune Friday", is "celebrating and supporting local talent… DJs are Bali based from international backgrounds." Occasional one-off nights are added, such as a Halloween party on a Saturday.
Desa Kitsuné
Clubs · Canggu
Desa Kitsuné is a lifestyle village in the heart of Canggu — desa means village — set in a 5,000 m² garden by the Savaya Group with the French-Japanese brand Maison Kitsuné. Café Kitsuné, the Ina Ré restaurant and a Maison Kitsuné boutique share the grounds, and every Tuesday and Friday the Garden becomes the party, rain or shine: guest DJs on Tuesdays, Bali-based DJs on Fridays. Parties are 21+, smart casual.
Ina Ré
Restaurants · Canggu
Ina Ré is the restaurant of Desa Kitsuné, the lifestyle village on Jalan Munduk Catu in Canggu. Chilean executive chef Cristian Encina brings together Mediterranean flavours and Latin American street food: paellas to share, ceviches, tacos, empanadas and wood-fired meats such as the Stockyard tomahawk. The space draws on Balinese arts and crafts, with handmade materials, weavings and traditional motifs, and includes private dining rooms for groups. Sunday brunch has its own menu, and so do Courtyard Saturdays.
Who it suits
- Guests staying in Canggu, for whom the party is in the neighbourhood.
- Couples and mixed groups. The venue's terms say that mixed groups and couples are strongly preferred.
- People who like dinner and dancing at one address. You can eat at Ina Ré and walk to the Garden.
- Anyone who prefers a garden to a dark room, and a crowd that feels like a neighbourhood night rather than a festival.
- Listeners curious about the island's own DJs, on a Friday.
Who may find it less worth it
- Anyone who wants to party every night there. The regular parties are Tuesday and Friday only.
- Groups of men arriving late. The complimentary guestlist cutoff is earlier for men than for women, a reduced fee follows, and later in the night there is a full-price tier for men.
- Anyone travelling light on shoes. Hard-sole shoes, boots and flip-flops are refused, and so are chains, baggy clothing, torn or cut-off clothing, beer-branded singlets and sportswear.
- Anyone under 21. The parties are 21+, and valid government ID may be required.
- Anyone set on the beach. Desa Kitsuné is a garden in Canggu, not a beach club.
- Late-year planners counting on the list. Many nights from November onward are ticketed only, with no guestlist, New Year's Eve among them: check the night's page before planning around the list.
Guestlist or table
The guestlist is free to join, from the night's page. Each guest registers individually for each event and receives a digital ticket by email. Entry is complimentary before the night's cutoff and reduced after it. In the venue's terms, "Management reserves the right to refuse entry at their discretion, even if a guestlist registration has been approved." The step-by-step: the Desa Kitsuné guestlist guide.
A table is the only reserved space in the Garden. Its minimum spend is set by the venue for each night. The Table button on the night's flyer opens the venue's own table map; FirstBali books the table with Desa Kitsuné, and it is yours once the venue confirms it.
Tuesday or Friday
Choose Tuesday for guest DJs, Friday for the Bali-based selectors the venue champions. Both run in the Garden, rain or shine, and both are compared in detail in Desa Kitsuné on Tuesday and Friday.
How to make the most of it
- Book dinner at Ina Ré on the same night, so the evening starts on the grounds: the Ina Ré guide.
- Register on the guestlist early, and arrive early — earlier still if your group includes men, because their cutoff comes first.
- Come as a mixed group if you can.
- Leave hard-sole shoes, boots and flip-flops behind, along with chains and baggy clothes: the Desa Kitsuné dress code.
- Bring government ID.
- Plan the ride home. Canggu's roads get busy in the evening, and a car with driver that waits is the simplest way back.
The verdict
Desa Kitsuné is worth it as a whole evening: dinner at Ina Ré, then a party in the Garden, on a Tuesday or a Friday. It is less worth it as a late stop for a group of men in boots. Comparing it with the group's other two venues? See Savaya, Zumana and Desa Kitsuné compared.
