Ina Ré Bali: Desa Kitsuné's Latin-Mediterranean table

Ina Ré is the restaurant of Desa Kitsuné in Canggu: Latin American street food and Mediterranean dishes, sharing paellas, wood-fired meats and private dining rooms. What to order and how to book.

Ina Ré is the restaurant of Desa Kitsuné, the lifestyle village on Jalan Munduk Catu in Canggu. Its Chilean executive chef, Cristian Encina, brings Mediterranean flavours together with Latin American street food: paellas to share, ceviches, tacos, empanadas and meats grilled over wood fire. It is open daily for lunch and dinner, has private dining rooms for groups, and FirstBali asks for a table through the concierge.

Where Ina Ré sits

Desa means "village" in Indonesian, and Desa Kitsuné is exactly that: a café, a lounge, a restaurant, a Maison Kitsuné shop and a garden that turns into a party on event nights, all on one site in the heart of Canggu. NOW! Bali reported that Ina Ré was born of a collaboration between Maison Kitsuné and Indonesia's Savaya Group. You can come for dinner alone, or make Ina Ré the first part of a longer evening in the garden. The village itself has its own guide: Desa Kitsuné, day and night.

The room

Ina Ré describes its palette as "a journey into the heart of Bali": earthy tones, handmade materials, intricate weavings and traditional motifs throughout. Beside the main room, the private dining rooms are designed for an intimate dinner, which makes Ina Ré one of the easier answers for a birthday, a hen or stag dinner or a family celebration in Canggu. Desa Kitsuné also hosts private events across the whole village.

What to order

The menu is built for sharing, and it moves between the Mediterranean and Latin America.

To start, cold: mezze and dips, a classic ceviche, a red snapper tiradito, Wagyu beef tartare with roasted bone marrow, oysters and fish tacos.

To start, hot: a wood-fired bread basket, za'atar pita, jalapeño bombas, crispy aubergine "alla Milanese", Wagyu beef skewers, mushroom and manchego croquetas, braised pork tacos and empanadas.

The paellas are the dish to gather around: a seafood paella valenciana, a vegetarian paella al horno, chicken and chorizo, and a Sumatran rendang paella that brings Indonesia into the pan.

From the fire and the sea: barbecued octopus, flame-grilled tiger prawns, line-caught fish, a barramundi à la meunière for two, Stockyard beef and the wood-fired Stockyard tomahawk. Steak lovers will find more in the best steakhouses in Bali.

Pasta and greens: homemade pumpkin agnolotti, tagliatelle with truffle, linguine with seafood, a burrata and a falafel salad, with grilled baby corn or hand-cut fries on the side.

To finish: pavlova, tiramisu or a warm chocolate cake — or, for the table, a baked Alaska or a tarte Tatin.

The bar pours signature cocktails — spritzes, the Andean Goddess, the Smokey Dancer, a white sangria — alongside beer, cider, mocktails and fresh juices.

Vegetarians are not an afterthought here: the mezze and dips, charred artichokes, the crispy aubergine, the mushroom croquetas, the falafel salad and a whole vegetarian paella make a full meal. Tell the concierge about allergies or dietary needs when you book, and they are passed on with the request.

Lunch or dinner

Ina Ré serves both, every day. Lunch is the calm, daylight version: a long table of sharing plates, then coffee at Café Kitsuné or a look around the Maison Kitsuné shop on the same site. Dinner is the evening version, and on event nights it leads straight into the garden. For a group celebration, ask for a private dining room at dinner; for a relaxed meal with friends in daylight, ask for lunch.

Brunch and Saturdays

Ina Ré has its own Sunday brunch menu and a separate menu for Courtyard Saturdays, so the weekend is a good time to come in daylight. For other Sunday tables, see Sunday brunch in Bali.

Dinner, then the garden

On event nights, the Desa Kitsuné garden becomes the party, and dinner at Ina Ré is the natural way in. The village's coming nights:

The guestlist on those nights is Desa Kitsuné's own list, joined from each event page; the rules are in the Desa Kitsuné guestlist guide. A dinner booking at Ina Ré and a place in the garden are two separate things, and each is confirmed by the venue.

How FirstBali books it

Tell the concierge the date, how many you are, and whether you would like the main room or a private dining room. FirstBali asks Ina Ré and passes on its answer, including any set menu or deposit the restaurant asks for a group. The table is yours once the venue confirms it. Our assistant replies at any hour; the team picks up through the Bali day and evening. Canggu's roads are busy at night, so a driver for the way home can be added in the same conversation.
