Yes, if what you want is a beach afternoon that turns into a night with a DJ, on the Kuta side of the island. Zumana is the beach club of Savaya Group — the team behind Savaya — at Sunset Bay, open daily, and its own site calls the sunset "the moment ZUMANA was built for". It opened in August 2026, so it is new: what you are judging is the place and its weekly rhythm rather than a long reputation, and it is 21+, smart casual and stricter on shoes than most beach clubs.

What you actually get
- A beachfront designed as a stage. Zumana sits on Jl. Kartika Plaza in Kuta, at Sunset Bay, and was designed by Rockwell Group: beachfront daybeds, poolside spaces, bars and an open-air dance floor.
- ZENÍA, "The Eternal Host". A 10-metre sculpture by the artist Daniel Popper, made with a team of Balinese artisans based in Ubud. In Zumana's words it "welcomes guests as they arrive, serving as both a landmark and the symbolic centrepiece of the destination."
- A day that changes key. Savaya Group's launch announcement describes a venue "designed to evolve from relaxed afternoons and sunset gatherings into late-night performances". The official site puts it more simply: "Come early. Settle in. Let the day unfold at its own pace."
- Something every day. Zumana is open daily, with a different night each day of the week.
Who it suits
- Guests who want the sunset and the party in one place, without changing venue when the light goes.
- Groups who want a base for the afternoon. A daybed or a table gives the group its own space from the afternoon into the night.
- Anyone curious about the island's own scene. Once a month, Made in Kuta is, in the venue's words, "Zumana's signature monthly Thursday celebration, inspired by the spirit of Kuta. Bringing together local talent, music, food, and culture."
- Headliner fans midweek. Wednesdays and Fridays are built around headline artists.
- Guests staying in Kuta, for whom Sunset Bay is on the doorstep.
Who may find it less worth it
- Families and anyone under 21. Zumana is 21+, so it is not a family beach day.
- Anyone expecting flip-flops and a sarong. The dress code is smart casual — "upscale beach chic" on its ticket pages — and flip-flops are not permitted, nor are work jeans or denim, beer-branded singlets, cut-off clothing and athletic sportswear. Swimwear stays in the pools.
- Anyone who likes to leave and come back. Re-entry is only possible with a table reservation.
- Anyone set on a particular headliner without checking the night. Some headliner nights carry a guestlist, others are ticketed only, with no list at all.
- Anyone who needs a track record before choosing. Zumana opened in August 2026; Savaya, its sister club in Uluwatu, is the one with the long history.
Guestlist or table
The guestlist is free to join, and how it works depends on the day. On the regular days — Zumana Sunday, Monday and Tuesday — it gives complimentary entry during an afternoon window, with a reduced entry fee after it. On headliner nights that have a list, entry is complimentary before the cutoff on the night's page. Every guest registers individually for each event and receives a digital ticket by email; mixed groups and couples are strongly preferred, and registration does not guarantee entry. Step by step: the Zumana guestlist guide.
A table is the only reserved space, and the only way back in after leaving. The minimum spend is set by Zumana for each night. The Table button on the night's flyer opens the venue's own table map; FirstBali books the table with Zumana, and it is yours once the venue confirms it.
Afternoon, sunset or night
Zumana's week, in short: regular days from Sunday to Tuesday, headliners on Wednesday and Friday, Ritual of the Sun on Saturdays, usually with a guest, and a Thursday that rotates between ZENÍA, SENJA, Zumana Thursday, Made in Kuta and some Full Moon nights. Each one is described in Zumana's weekly nights.
- For an easy first visit: a regular day, arriving within the afternoon window.
- For the sunset as the event: Saturday's Ritual of the Sun.
- For a headliner: Wednesday or Friday, after checking that night's terms.
How to make the most of it
- Pick the day first, from the calendar above, then the format.
- Come early on a regular day. The guestlist window is in the afternoon, and so is the point of a beach club.
- Pack shoes, not flip-flops, and keep swimwear for the pools: the Zumana dress code.
- Bring valid ID. Zumana is 21+.
- Plan the ride both ways. A car with driver can wait for the end of the night.
- Keep an eye on the sky. Events can be cancelled for inclement weather, and a registration does not carry over to another date.
The verdict
Zumana is worth it for a long afternoon by the sea that ends on a dance floor, on a day you have chosen for its night. It is less worth it if you wanted a casual beach in flip-flops, or a headliner you did not check. Still deciding between the group's three venues? Read Savaya, Zumana and Desa Kitsuné compared.
