Regent Bali Canggu: restaurants, spa and how to book
Regent Bali Canggu, on the beach at Batu Bolong, has CURE, Sazón, Taru, the Beach House and a Regent Spa. What each one is, what the hotel says about visitors, and how to ask for a table.

Regent Bali Canggu is IHG's beachfront resort on Batu Bolong, on Canggu's southwest coast, and the first Regent in Indonesia. Its best-known tables are CURE, the European-Asian dining room of chef Andrew Walsh, and Sazón, his Mediterranean restaurant on Batu Bolong; around them are Taru for Indonesian cooking, the Beach House for cocktails and seafood by the ocean, and the first Regent Spa & Wellness. FirstBali asks for a table at any of them through the concierge.
The resort in a few words
The resort was designed by WATG, with interiors by HBA, and it faces Canggu Beach, where the hotel describes surfers lining up for the reef breaks in the morning light and the Batu Mejan sea temple standing on black rock. Rooms run from suites to villas with private pools, and the Regent Club keeps adults-only cabanas and a private infinity pool for its own guests. For where this sits among Bali's areas, see where to stay in Bali.
Can you eat there without staying?
CURE and Sazón present themselves as restaurants in their own right, with their own menus, their own nights and a table to reserve. The resort's pages, though, do not say in so many words whether non-residents can book every outlet or the spa. So FirstBali does not assume: the concierge asks the resort for your date and tells you what it answers.
CURE: European cooking, Asian accents
CURE Bali sits within the resort, with views across the ocean. Chef-founder Andrew Walsh, whose career runs from Ireland to London and Asia, describes it as a European-Asian dining experience; the restaurant's site says his first CURE, in Singapore, went on to earn a Michelin star. It has three parts:
- The Dining Room: modern European cooking shaped by Asian influence, built on seafood, premium meats and seasonal produce, with curing methods used to deepen flavour and dishes served to share. There is also a Sunday lunch.
- Bar Nua: "nua" means new in Irish Gaelic. A smaller cocktail bar inside CURE, with a drinks list drawn from Irish heritage.
- The Curing Room: an open-kitchen counter around a seasonal omakase, drawing on Japanese and French traditions of curing and ageing. CURE lists it as coming soon.
CURE also offers a private dining room, partial buyouts and exclusive hire for celebrations and corporate gatherings, and a seaside romantic dinner for anniversaries and proposals, with floral styling on request. For more ideas, see romantic dinners in Bali.
Sazón: Mediterranean, made to share
Sazón calls itself "a Mediterranean feast, reimagined in Bali": grilled flatbreads, citrus-dressed seafood, slow-cooked meats and fire-roasted vegetables, to share. Andrew Walsh leads it with Chef Tude, a Bali-born chef. The bar pours house sangrias, vermouth, mezcal and agave spirits. The week has a rhythm:
- Mastering the Paellera, an interactive paella evening where you cook alongside the chefs; it needs at least two people and advance booking.
- Sazón Fiesta on Thursdays: dinner, a big paella and a live DJ.
- Disco De Barrio on Fridays and Saturdays: dinner, then house, funk and nu-disco into the night.
- Saturday lunch, and a Spanish brunch on Sundays, with live ceviche and a giant paella. See Sunday brunch in Bali.
Taru, the Beach House and the bars
Taru is what the hotel calls its signature culinary destination: poolside, among tropical gardens, it reinvents essential Indonesian dishes with modern techniques, alongside international plates, and lists a children's menu. The Beach House pairs a pool and the ocean breeze with craft cocktails and seafood. The Pool Bar has private cabanas, and The Lounge serves coffee, teas and wine looking over the cascading pools to the sea.
The spa and the wellness floor
Regent Spa & Wellness draws on Bali's healing traditions: rituals, massages and facials in treatment rooms that include a couples suite, with a sauna, a vitality pool and an ice bath. The Health Club adds a gym and a yoga studio. The hotel's pages do not say whether visitors who are not staying can book treatments, so the concierge checks that for you too.
How FirstBali books it
Tell the concierge the restaurant, the date and how many you are, and the occasion if there is one — a birthday, an anniversary, a proposal. FirstBali asks the resort or the restaurant and passes on its answer, including any deposit or set menu it asks for. The table is yours only once the venue confirms it. Our assistant replies at any hour; the team picks up through the Bali day and evening. A driver for the evening can be added in the same conversation: see a private driver in Bali.
On the same road, Zai Cafe serves Mediterranean and Middle Eastern food from breakfast to dinner.
