Seminyak cocktail bars: an honest answer from FirstBali

FirstBali lists no dedicated cocktail bar in Seminyak. What we book there is dinner and a club; for crafted cocktails we send guests to Berawa, from The Shady Pig to Jade.

Looking for a cocktail bar in Seminyak? FirstBali's catalogue has no dedicated cocktail bar in Seminyak itself, so we will not pretend otherwise. What we book in Seminyak is the evening around one address on Jalan Petitenget: dinner at Sardine, then Les Toilettes, or the sofas at MU:IN. For a proper cocktail bar, we send guests up the coast to Berawa: The Shady Pig, a password speakeasy, and the cocktail bar at Jade by Todd English. The concierge arranges either evening.

Why there is no Seminyak list here

Seminyak has plenty of bars. We only write about venues FirstBali works with and has checked, and none of those is a cocktail bar in Seminyak today. A list built from places we cannot book or vouch for would not help you. If you already have a Seminyak bar in mind, tell the concierge: we take the request anyway and check what can be arranged.

Drinks in Seminyak: Petitenget after dark

The evening FirstBali books in Seminyak is built around dinner and a club rather than a bar crawl.

  • Sardine, by the K-Club Group, is a seafood restaurant on Jalan Petitenget in an open-air bamboo building looking over rice paddies, with a terrace for dinner. The kitchen cooks the daily catch in a modern Mediterranean style.
  • Les Toilettes, the group's nightclub, is at the same address, so you do not need a car between dinner and the late part of the night. It is 21+, at the door's discretion, and the dress code is smart: no flip-flops, sandals or sportswear.
  • MU:IN, also on Jalan Petitenget, is a club built around sound and light, with VIP sofas and bottle service looking straight onto the main floor. 21+.

If what you want is a drink with music rather than a cocktail menu to study, this is the Seminyak answer. The sequence is in our Seminyak nightlife guide, and how the two clubs differ is in MU:IN vs Les Toilettes.

For a real cocktail bar: Berawa

Berawa, on the Canggu side, is where the catalogue's cocktail addresses cluster.

The Shady Pig

The Shady Pig on Jalan Pantai Berawa is the original bar of The Shady Family. The theme is Birmingham bootleggers: the bar hides behind an unmarked door, and you need the password to get in. Cocktails lean experimental, using distillation, barrel ageing and fermentation, from the Shelby to a barrel-aged Negroni. Small plates, pinchos and sandwiches come with the drinks, and DJs take over later. More in our Shady Pig guide.

Jade by Todd English

Jade by Todd English is a Mediterranean restaurant and bar whose cocktail bar gives its drinks an Asian touch. The kitchen cooks over a wood-fire grill, and the mood shifts as the night goes on, with a daily DJ and weekly late-night events.

Miss Fish

Miss Fish on Jalan Raya Semat is a Japanese restaurant with a Lounge for cocktails and shared plates, and a bar holding more than forty sakes and Japanese whiskies. DJs take over later in the evening. Smart casual.

The theme is 1920s Birmingham bootleggers: the bar hides behind an unmarked door, and you need the password to get in. Cocktails lean experimental, using distillation, barrel ageing and fermentation, from the Shelby to a barrel-aged Negroni. Small plates, pinchos and sandwiches come with the drinks, and DJs take over later in the night.

Jade by Todd English

Jade by Todd English

Restaurants · Berawa

Jade by Todd English is a Mediterranean restaurant and bar in Berawa, whose culinary direction draws on American chef Todd English, known for his flagship restaurant Olives. The kitchen works around a wood-fire grill, with a focus on local farms and producers, on a menu designed for sharing among friends. The cocktail bar gives its drinks an Asian touch. Warm lighting and earthy tones set the room, and the mood shifts as the night goes on, with a daily DJ and weekly late-night events.

Miss Fish is a Japanese restaurant and late-night venue on Jalan Raya Semat in Berawa, Canggu, open since 2022. Executive Chef Carlos Barvo leads a seasonal omakase that pairs Japanese technique with European and Latin American influences. Guests choose between the Omakase Bar, a chef-guided onyx counter, the open-air Patio and the Lounge for cocktails and shared plates, and the bar holds more than 40 sakes and Japanese whiskies. Later in the evening, DJs take over. Dress code: smart casual.

A view with the drink: Rock Bar, Jimbaran

If the cocktail is an excuse for the sunset, Rock Bar is AYANA Bali's cliffside bar in Jimbaran. You reach it by inclinator, watch the sun go down over the sea and stay as the DJs play on. Its cocktails are inspired by the colours of the sea. Non-resident visitors can reserve; the Round Deck is kept for villa guests and the Top Bar for hotel guests, and payment is by card or QR only. See our Rock Bar guide.

Ending the night at a club

A cocktail in Berawa often turns into a club night. Two of FirstBali's partner venues fit after drinks: Desa Kitsuné in Canggu, whose Garden becomes the party every Tuesday and Friday, rain or shine; and Zumana at Sunset Bay in Kuta, open daily with a weekly programme. Both are 21+ with a valid photo ID, and mixed groups and couples are strongly preferred at the door. Registering on a guestlist does not guarantee complimentary entry; terms vary per night and are shown on the night's page.

How FirstBali arranges it

Tell the concierge the night, how many you are and whether you want dinner first. We ask the venue for the table, add a driver if you want one from Transport, and confirm once the venue has confirmed. An assistant answers at any hour, and the team through the Bali day and evening.
