Zumana vs Les Toilettes: beach club or Seminyak club?

Zumana is a 21+ Savaya Group beach club at Sunset Bay in Kuta; Les Toilettes is the K-Club Group's Seminyak nightclub at the same address as Sardine. What each offers, side by side.

Zumana and Les Toilettes both answer "where do we go out tonight?" in the south of Bali, but they are two kinds of venue. Zumana is a beach club at Sunset Bay in Kuta, a Savaya Group property designed by Rockwell Group around beachfront daybeds, poolside spaces, bars and an open-air dance floor, with a weekly programme of named nights. Les Toilettes is the K-Club Group's nightclub on Jalan Petitenget in Seminyak, at the same address as Sardine, the group's seafood restaurant. FirstBali arranges both through the concierge.

The short answer

  • A night on the beach, by a pool: Zumana, with daybeds on the sand and an open-air dance floor.
  • Dinner and a club at one address: Les Toilettes, which shares its address with Sardine.
  • A known weekly programme: Zumana, with headliners on Wednesdays and Fridays and Ritual of the Sun on Saturdays.
  • A nightclub in Seminyak: Les Toilettes, now in its 2.0 version, drawing on club concepts from around the world.

The setting

Zumana is on the sand at Sunset Bay. Its centrepiece is ZENÍA, "The Eternal Host", a ten-metre sculpture by Daniel Popper made with Balinese artisans from Ubud, and its restaurant is Manuza.

Les Toilettes is a nightclub, not a beach club: it sits on Jalan Petitenget in Seminyak, at the same address as Sardine. The idea is a club night, with dinner next door if you want it. Read the Les Toilettes guide and the Sardine guide.

The rhythm of the week

Zumana is open daily: Zumana Sunday, Monday and Tuesday every week, headliners on Wednesdays and Fridays, Ritual of the Sun on Saturdays, and a weeknight rotation that includes Made in Kuta. Each night has its own page and terms on the events page.

Les Toilettes keeps its own programme; the concierge checks which nights it is open and what is on for your date.

Getting in

Zumana is 21+ with a valid photo ID, passport or driver's licence, and the dress code is smart casual. Many nights have a guestlist run by the venue: each guest registers on the night's page, joining is free, and entry is complimentary before the cutoff shown there, reduced after. Registration does not guarantee complimentary entry, and the venue states that mixed groups and couples are strongly preferred. Some nights are ticketed only. More in the Zumana guestlist guide.

Les Toilettes is for guests aged 21 and over, at the door's discretion, and its dress code is smart: no flip-flops, sandals or sportswear. Bring a valid photo ID to both — see the club ID guide.

Dress for each

The two dress codes are close but not the same. Zumana asks for smart casual on the beach; Les Toilettes states that flip-flops, sandals and sportswear are not allowed. If you plan on Les Toilettes, pack shoes that are neither flip-flops nor sandals — see the club shoes guide.

Reserved space

At Zumana, a table is the only reserved space. The venue sets its minimum spend per night, and its table map notes that it includes food and beverage credit. The flyer's Table button opens that night's map, and FirstBali books with the venue. The table is yours once the venue confirms it; any deposit follows the venue's terms and is not a confirmation. Re-entry is only for guests with a table.

At Les Toilettes, ask the concierge what the club can reserve for your night, and a dinner at Sardine before it. Nothing is confirmed until the venue confirms it.

Food

Zumana has Manuza on site — see Manuza at Zumana. At Les Toilettes, dinner is at Sardine, the seafood restaurant at the same address, so the night can start at the table and continue in the club without a second address.

Which one fits your plan

  • Zumana offers a beach club night: daybeds, a pool, an open-air dance floor, headliners on Wednesdays and Fridays, Ritual of the Sun on Saturdays and a venue-run guestlist on many nights.
  • Les Toilettes offers a Seminyak nightclub with Sardine for dinner at the same address, a smart dress code and entry at the door's discretion.

Tell the concierge the date, how many you are and what you have in mind. The team checks what can be arranged and comes back with the venue's terms. An assistant answers at any hour, the team through the Bali day and evening.
