Atlas vs White Rock: which Bali beach club to choose

Atlas or White Rock? Canggu's vast beach club with beanbags, shows and a nightclub, or a family-friendly club on Melasti in the south with party suites. An honest comparison.

Updated October 21, 2026 · 4 min read

Atlas and White Rock are both big beach clubs on the sand, with pools, daybeds and DJs, but they sit at opposite ends of the tourist south and suit different trips. Atlas is on Berawa Beach in Canggu and is about scale: beanbags on the sand, a vast pool, five seat zones, daily shows, a flying fox and its own nightclub. White Rock is on Melasti Beach in Ungasan, on the Bukit, and welcomes families, with a kids' pool, a spa and air-conditioned party suites. Where you are staying usually decides it; who is coming decides the rest.

The short answer

  • Staying in Canggu, Berawa or Seminyak: Atlas is on your side of the island.
  • Staying in Uluwatu, Jimbaran or Nusa Dua: White Rock is on yours.
  • Travelling with children: White Rock, which publishes its family rules. Atlas publishes no child policy, so we ask first.
  • Spectacle and a big group: Atlas, with its stage, its shows and room for a crowd.
  • A private, air-conditioned room with the view: White Rock's party suites.
  • Carrying on to a club at night: Atlas has its own nightclub next door; from White Rock, the night continues on the Uluwatu cliffs.

The setting

Atlas bills itself as the biggest beach club in the world. It is grounds rather than a terrace: its signature beanbags right on the sand facing the sea, a vast pool with a two-level pool bar, The Deck restaurant overlooking the beach, a stage, a beachfront padel court and a flying fox that carries guests over the venue.

White Rock sits at the end of the cliff on Melasti Beach. Where Uluwatu's other clubs look down from the limestone, it is beside the water: daybeds, sofas and cabanas around a lagoon pool and a rock pool, a large covered restaurant serving local and international dishes, a spa, and the enclosed party suites overlooking the pool and the ocean. White Rock bills itself as the best beachfront club in Bali.

Who it suits

Atlas suits groups, birthdays and a first night when nobody has agreed on a plan: there is enough going on that twelve people can each find their corner. The entertainment, built around the four elements, runs from day into night. Children: Atlas publishes no policy, so tell us who is coming and we ask the venue before you book.

White Rock is the family answer in the south. Children are welcome with a parent or guardian at all times, with a separate kids' pool and a kids' menu; the main pool is for adults under the club's rules, and alcohol is served from twenty-one. Resident DJs play every day and foam parties run at weekends, so it is not a quiet place — just an open one. See family-friendly beach clubs.

The seats

At Atlas, five zones: The Deck for a more refined afternoon and dinner at sunset; Deck Side, dry daybeds with the view; Pool Side, the heart of the day; Party Side, in front of the stage; and VVIP Party Side, with premium service and front-row access to the shows. A day pass with pool access is also offered.

At White Rock: lagoon beds and sofas; double and single beds; party beds and the VIP cabana for a bigger group; spa daybeds; and the party suites. A per-guest amenity package — welcome drink, towels and use of the facilities — counts towards the seat's minimum.

At both, the venue sets the minimum spend for the seat, the day and the season. FirstBali asks for your date and passes on the confirmed amount; nothing is quoted before that, and a deposit, if asked, follows the venue's terms and is not a confirmation.

Rules worth knowing

White Rock publishes its terms: bring the booking confirmation and a valid photo ID in the booking name; no outside food or drink, with bags checked; no pets, helium balloons, drones, tripods, selfie sticks or professional cameras; decorations only with management's approval. Atlas sets its rules per seat and event; we pass on what applies to yours. For what to wear, read the beach club dress code.

Where each fits in your stay

Atlas fits a Canggu stay, and the Canggu night continues at Desa Kitsuné on its garden-party nights. White Rock fits a day in the south, with the evening at Savaya on the Uluwatu cliffs. The partner nights, if you want to plan the evening too:
