Bali club door policy: what the door checks, club by club

What Bali club doors publish: 21+ with photo ID, smart casual, mixed groups preferred, bag rules, re-entry with a table, and the line that a guestlist never guarantees entry.

Updated October 23, 2026 · 3 min read

Bali's main clubs publish their door policy, and it is short: be 21 or over with a valid photo ID, dress smart casual, and accept that the door decides. Savaya, Zumana and Desa Kitsuné add that "mixed groups and couples are strongly preferred" and that a guestlist registration "does not guarantee complimentary entry". Savaya also searches bags and admits no luggage. Here is each rule as the door applies it, and what it means for you.

The rules every partner club shares

Savaya, Zumana and Desa Kitsuné — the three Savaya Group venues FirstBali works with — publish the same base:

  • 21+ with a valid photo ID: a passport or a driver's licence. No ID, no entry, whatever your age.
  • Smart casual. All three state it; the details are in the club dress code guide.
  • Mixed groups and couples strongly preferred. A preference, published in their terms.
  • Management decides. Registration on the guestlist does not guarantee complimentary entry.

The guestlist at the door

The guestlists are the venues' own. Each person registers individually for each night on the night's page and receives a digital ticket by email. Joining is free; entry is complimentary before that night's cutoff and reduced after it. The cutoff is on the night's page and changes, so we never print it. At Desa Kitsuné, the men's cutoff is earlier than the women's.

Some nights are ticketed only and have no list; terms change from night to night, and a night can open a list later. Official tickets come only through the venue's own channel. At Savaya, tickets are primarily for standing room. The difference is explained in guestlist or ticket.

Club by club

Savaya, Uluwatu

On the Pecatu clifftop, Savaya adds the strictest practical rules of the three:

  • Bags are searched at the entrance.
  • No luggage; lockers are limited.
  • No outside food or drink.
  • Cashless: no cash at the bar.
  • Re-entry only with a table.

Come straight from dinner, not from the airport with a suitcase. Read Savaya: what to bring.

Zumana, Kuta

Zumana, at Sunset Bay, shares the base rules: 21+, smart casual, mixed groups and couples preferred. Re-entry is allowed only with a table, which matters on a beach club day when you may want to step out.

Desa Kitsuné, Canggu

On the Tuesday and Friday garden parties, rain or shine, the base rules apply, plus the earlier guestlist cutoff for men. A group of men relying on the list should arrive early.

Seminyak clubs

Les Toilettes, on Jalan Petitenget, admits guests aged 21 and over at the door's discretion, with a smart dress code: no flip-flops, sandals or sportswear. MU:IN, on the same street, is 21+.

Why people get turned away

From the rules above, the common reasons are predictable:

  1. No ID, or a photo of one. Bring the document itself. See ID and passport in Bali clubs.
  2. Under 21. No exception at these doors; the age limit guide lists what stays open.
  3. Flip-flops, sandals or sportswear.
  4. Arriving after the cutoff and expecting the list to count.
  5. Luggage at Savaya.
  6. The door's discretion, which the venues state openly.

What a table changes, and what it does not

A table is the only reserved space at these clubs: its minimum spend is set by the venue per night, and the Savaya and Zumana maps state it includes food and beverage credit. Once the venue confirms it, it is yours, and at Savaya and Zumana it allows re-entry. It does not waive the rest: everyone at the table still needs to be 21+, carry ID and meet the dress code. A deposit follows the venue's terms and is not a confirmation.

How FirstBali helps

Tell the concierge the night and who is coming; we check the night's terms, send the link to register, or ask the venue for a table and share its terms before you decide. An assistant answers at any hour, the team through the Bali day and evening. We never promise entry: the door belongs to the venue.

Questions we get asked

+What is the door policy at Bali clubs?

At Savaya, Zumana and Desa Kitsuné: 21+ with a valid photo ID, smart casual, mixed groups and couples strongly preferred, and management decides. A guestlist registration does not guarantee complimentary entry.

+Which ID is accepted at the door?

A valid photo ID: a passport or a driver's licence. Bring the document itself.

+Can I bring a bag to Savaya?

A small one. Bags are searched, luggage is not allowed and lockers are limited. No outside food or drink.

+Can I leave the club and come back?

At Savaya and Zumana, only with a table.

+Does a table get around the door policy?

No. A confirmed table is your reserved space, but everyone at it still needs to be 21+, carry ID and meet the dress code.

+Can FirstBali guarantee entry?

No one can: the door belongs to the venue. FirstBali checks the night's terms and books tables with the venue.
