Bali weeknight vs weekend: which nights to go out

Weekends bring the headline nights and the fullest rooms; weeknights bring garden parties, sunset sets and easier tables. How the Bali week runs at Savaya, Zumana and Desa Kitsuné, and how to plan it.

Go out at the weekend for the headline nights and the fullest crowds; go out on a weeknight for an easier table and nights that only happen then. In Bali the week has a real shape: Desa Kitsuné's garden parties fall on Tuesday and Friday, Savaya opens the week with its Monday sunset set, and the big headliners land at the weekend. The best trips use both.

How the Bali week runs

The partner clubs each run regular nights, and together they cover the whole week:

  • Monday: Last Light at Savaya, the sunset set from The Cube on the Uluwatu clifftop.
  • Tuesday: garden party at Desa Kitsuné in Canggu, rain or shine.
  • Through the week: Zumana's weeknight rotation at Sunset Bay, Kuta, including Made in Kuta.
  • Friday: the second Desa Kitsuné garden party of the week.
  • Saturday: Ritual of the Sun at Zumana; headliners at Savaya.
  • Sunday: People of the Sun at Savaya and Zumana Sunday.

The exact programme of each night lives on its page:

What the weekend gives you

The headline nights. Savaya's weekend headliners are the nights people plan a trip around, and they are the ones most likely to be ticketed only. DJ Mag ranks Savaya the number one club in Asia from 2024 to 2026 and fifth in the world in 2026, and its weekends are when that reputation is on show.

The fullest rooms. Residents and visitors go out on the same nights, so the energy is at its highest, and so is the demand for tables and good spots.

What it costs you in planning. Tables at the weekend go first, and a table is the only reserved space at the partner clubs. Book early rather than on the day. See the Saturday night guide for how one runs.

What a weeknight gives you

Nights that only exist then. Desa Kitsuné's garden parties are on Tuesday and Friday, Last Light is on Monday, and Zumana keeps a weeknight rotation. None of these is a reduced version of the weekend; they are their own thing.

Easier tables. Demand is lower, so a table is often easier to arrange at shorter notice. Nothing is certain until the venue confirms it, but the odds are better.

Restaurants that turn into parties. Several Berawa dining rooms change mood after dinner. Moi, on Jalan Pantai Berawa, runs themed nights such as Monday Society, and the evening shifts into a party after sunset.

How the guestlist differs

It does not differ by day of the week; it differs by night. Each night sets its own terms on its own page: a free guestlist, tickets only, or both. Joining a list is free, entry is complimentary before that night's cutoff and reduced after it, and registration does not guarantee complimentary entry. A weekend headline night is more likely to be ticketed; a weeknight more likely to have a list, but check the page, never assume. Mixed groups and couples are strongly preferred at all three clubs.

A week that uses both

For a seven-night stay, one pattern that works:

  1. Arrive and settle: a quiet first evening; see your first night in Bali.
  2. Monday: Last Light at Savaya for the sunset, the clifftop at its calmest.
  3. Tuesday: Desa Kitsuné's garden party in Canggu.
  4. Midweek: a long dinner, and Zumana's weeknight rotation if you have the energy.
  5. Friday: Desa Kitsuné again, or a rest night before the weekend.
  6. Saturday: the big night, with a table booked well ahead.
  7. Sunday: People of the Sun or Zumana Sunday, then a slow day.

Practical points for any night

  • All three partner clubs are 21+ with a valid photo ID: a passport or a driver's licence.
  • Savaya is cashless, bags are searched and lockers are limited; no luggage, no outside food or drink.
  • Re-entry at Savaya and Zumana is only with a table.
  • Plan the ride home before you leave: the driver for a night out guide explains how.

How FirstBali helps

Tell the concierge your dates and the kind of nights you want. We send you the right night's page for any guestlist, book tables with the venue, and check what can be arranged around them: dinner before, a driver after. A table is yours once the venue confirms it; any deposit follows the venue's terms and is not a confirmation. An assistant answers at any hour, the team through the Bali day and evening.

Questions we get asked

+Is Bali nightlife busy on weeknights?

Yes, on the right nights: Desa Kitsuné's garden parties on Tuesday and Friday, Savaya's Last Light on Monday and Zumana's weeknight rotation.

+Which night is best at Savaya?

Weekends for the headliners, Monday for the Last Light sunset set, Sunday for People of the Sun. It depends on the night you want.

+Are tables easier to get on a weeknight?

Usually, because demand is lower. A table is still only yours once the venue confirms it.

+Do weekend nights have a guestlist?

Terms are set per night, not per day. The night's own page shows whether a list is open or it is ticketed only.

+When does Desa Kitsuné party?

Its garden parties are on Tuesday and Friday, rain or shine.
