Canggu cafés: coffee, breakfast and brunch picks

Canggu cafés from FirstBali's list: Parisian coffee at Café Kitsuné, Mediterranean breakfast at Zai Cafe, healthy plates at Reload Kitchen and a Sunday brunch at Ina Ré.

Updated October 22, 2026 · 3 min read

Canggu's café culture is the reason many people choose it, and four addresses on FirstBali's list cover the day from the first coffee to a long lunch. Café Kitsuné serves Parisian coffee and pastries inside Desa Kitsuné; Zai Cafe on Batu Bolong does a Mediterranean and Middle Eastern breakfast; Reload Kitchen feeds people after training; and Ina Ré has a Sunday brunch menu of its own. For a table or a group, ask the concierge.

Zai Cafe

Zai Cafe

Restaurants · Canggu

Zai Cafe is a modern Mediterranean and Middle Eastern restaurant on Jalan Pantai Batu Bolong in Canggu, serving from breakfast through dinner. Mornings bring flatbreads, a Greek salad with homemade feta, bowls and dips such as hummus, beetroot hummus, babaganoush and tzatziki. In the evening the menu turns to dishes like octopus with harissa and orzo, or grilled prawns with a sweet passion fruit sauce. Ceremonial matcha goes into drinks and desserts, and on Fridays a DJ sets the mood.

Desa Kitsuné

Desa Kitsuné

Clubs · Canggu

Desa Kitsuné is a lifestyle village in the heart of Canggu — desa means village — set in a 5,000 m² garden by the Savaya Group with the French-Japanese brand Maison Kitsuné. Café Kitsuné, the Ina Ré restaurant and a Maison Kitsuné boutique share the grounds, and every Tuesday and Friday the Garden becomes the party, rain or shine: guest DJs on Tuesdays, Bali-based DJs on Fridays. Parties are 21+, smart casual.

Reload Sanctuary

Reload Sanctuary

Restaurants · Canggu

Reload Sanctuary is a training and recovery club on Jalan Canggu Padang Linjong, brought to Bali by the team behind Reload Gym in Jakarta. The building, designed by Indonesian architect Andra Matin, has open-air training floors and a rooftop above the rice fields. Inside: a strength and conditioning gym, a HYROX zone, classes from boxing to Pilates and yoga, and a recovery area with sauna, steam room, ice baths, cold plunge and pool. Reload Kitchen serves healthy plates on site. Adults only (18+).

Ina Ré

Ina Ré

Restaurants · Canggu

Ina Ré is the restaurant of Desa Kitsuné, the lifestyle village on Jalan Munduk Catu in Canggu. Chilean executive chef Cristian Encina brings together Mediterranean flavours and Latin American street food: paellas to share, ceviches, tacos, empanadas and wood-fired meats such as the Stockyard tomahawk. The space draws on Balinese arts and crafts, with handmade materials, weavings and traditional motifs, and includes private dining rooms for groups. Sunday brunch has its own menu, and so do Courtyard Saturdays.

Café Kitsuné: coffee from Paris

Café Kitsuné is the coffee house inside Desa Kitsuné, the lifestyle village on Jalan Munduk Catu that the Savaya Group runs with the French-Japanese brand Maison Kitsuné. It serves the brand's signature coffees with sweet and savoury pastries and promises, in its own words, "a taste of Paris in the heart of Bali". The same grounds hold the Ina Ré restaurant and a Maison Kitsuné boutique, so a coffee easily turns into a browse and a lunch. The full story is in our Café Kitsuné guide.

The Garden next door becomes a party every Tuesday and Friday, rain or shine. If an afternoon coffee makes you curious, the coming nights are here:

Zai Cafe: a Mediterranean breakfast

Zai Cafe is a modern Mediterranean and Middle Eastern restaurant on Jalan Pantai Batu Bolong, the road that runs down to Batu Bolong beach, and it serves from breakfast through dinner. Mornings bring flatbreads, bowls, a Greek salad with homemade feta and dips such as hummus, beetroot hummus, babaganoush and tzatziki, alongside egg dishes like shakshuka. Ceremonial matcha goes into drinks and desserts, with a Matcha Monday of its own. It is the pick for a group that wants a proper sit-down breakfast rather than a quick flat white. More in our Zai Cafe guide.

Reload Kitchen: after a workout

Reload Sanctuary is a training and recovery club on Jalan Canggu Padang Linjong, in a building by the Indonesian architect Andra Matin with open-air floors and a rooftop above the rice fields. Reload Kitchen serves healthy plates on site, which makes it the natural stop after a class, the gym or the recovery area with its sauna and ice baths. The club is adults only (18+). If you are training while you are here, our gym day pass guide explains how a visit works.

Ina Ré: when breakfast becomes brunch

On Sundays the café hour can stretch into something longer. Ina Ré, the restaurant of Desa Kitsuné, has a Sunday brunch with its own menu, from a kitchen led by the Chilean chef Cristian Encina that mixes Mediterranean flavours with Latin American street food. It suits a group that wants to sit down together, and it is steps from Café Kitsuné if someone only wants a coffee. See our Ina Ré Sunday brunch guide.

Which café for which morning

  • A quick coffee and a pastry: Café Kitsuné.
  • A full breakfast with eggs and dips: Zai Cafe.
  • After training: Reload Kitchen.
  • A long Sunday with friends: Ina Ré's brunch.
  • A seafront alternative: Regent Bali Canggu, on the same Batu Bolong coast, has The Beach House by its pool, with craft cocktails and seafood, for a resort lunch instead of a café morning.

Getting there and booking

Canggu's lanes are narrow and parking is tight in the morning. A scooter is how many people move around here; if you do not ride, a driver is simpler, and the concierge can check what can be arranged through transport. Cafés usually take walk-ins, but for a group, a birthday breakfast or a Sunday brunch table, tell the concierge the day, the time you would like and the number of people. FirstBali asks the venue, and the table is yours once the venue confirms it. An assistant answers at any hour, and the team works through the Bali day and evening.
