Is Savaya worth it? An honest look before you go
For electronic music and a sunset above the ocean, yes: Savaya is ranked first in Asia by DJ Mag. It is worth it if you choose the night, guestlist or table, and the ride home first.
Updated October 15, 2026 · 4 min read

For most people who come to Bali for electronic music and a sunset, yes. Savaya is a clifftop club in Uluwatu, 100 metres above the Indian Ocean, and DJ Mag's Top 100 Clubs has named it the number-one club in Asia three years running (2024–2026). Whether it is worth it for you depends on three choices made before you leave — which night, guestlist or table, and how you get home — and on accepting its rules: strictly 21+, smart casual, and no re-entry without a table.

What you actually get
- The setting. Savaya sits in Pecatu, on the Bukit peninsula, "nestled between the wild paradise of the jungle and soaring limestone cliffs", in the venue's own words. There are pools, and The Cube, its landmark, frames the horizon. It is not a beach club: there is no beach.
- The music. Savaya describes itself as "one of the world's leading destinations for electronic music", and its own listings speak of melodic house and techno and Afro house. Weekends mostly bring international headliners.
- The reputation. Besides the Asian title, DJ Mag ranked it fifth in the world in 2026. That is the magazine's ranking, and Savaya puts it on its own home page.
- A night every night. Savaya is open daily, so a week in Bali always has a Savaya date in it.
Who it suits
- Anyone planning a trip around a line-up. The weekend headliners are the reason many people come to the island.
- Couples who want the sunset to be the event. Monday is Last Light, which Savaya calls "the only place on the Bukit Peninsula where the magic hour isn't a backdrop. It's the main event."
- Groups celebrating something. A table gives the group its own space for the whole night.
- Guests staying in the south of the island, for whom Uluwatu is close by.
Who may find it less worth it
- Anyone under 21. Entry is strictly 21+, with valid photo ID: a passport or a driver's licence.
- Anyone who wants a beach day. The view is from a cliff. Swimwear belongs in the pools, not on the dance floor.
- Anyone who decides at the last minute on a headline weekend. Several headline nights are ticketed only, with no guestlist at all, and a registration on the list does not guarantee entry.
- Anyone who likes to hop between venues. Re-entry is only possible with a table reservation.
- Anyone who does not want to plan the ride. Uluwatu is at the southern end of the island, and the way home is easier arranged than improvised.
Guestlist, ticket or table
The guestlist costs nothing to join. On nights that have one, it gives complimentary entry before the cutoff shown on the night's page and a reduced entry fee after it. Each guest registers individually for each event and receives a digital ticket by email. Mixed groups and couples are strongly preferred.
A ticket is what a ticketed-only night requires. Official tickets are sold only through Savaya's own channel; tickets bought elsewhere are refused at the door. In Savaya's words, "tickets are primarily for standing room only."
A table is the only reserved space in the club, and the only way to leave and come back. The minimum spend is set by Savaya for each night. The Table button on the night's flyer opens the venue's own table map, FirstBali books the table with Savaya, and it is yours once the venue confirms it. The three options side by side: tickets, guestlist or table at Savaya.
Sunset or night
The week has a shape. Monday is Last Light, a sunset set from The Cube; see Savaya Last Light. Tuesday to Thursday are Savaya's own weekday nights. Fridays rotate: Southern Tribe once a month, the monthly Full Moon on some Fridays — it begins as a beach gathering at Nyang Nyang beach — and guest nights otherwise. Saturdays and Sundays belong mostly to headliners; a weekend at Savaya explains how they work.
If the sunset is the point, pick Monday. If the artist is the point, pick the weekend and check that night's terms first.
How to make the most of it
- Choose the night before the format. The calendar above shows each date with its own buttons.
- Register early and arrive before the cutoff on a guestlist night. After it, the reduced fee applies.
- Dress smart casual. Work jeans and denim, beer-branded singlets, cut-off clothing and athletic sportswear are refused: the Savaya dress code.
- Bring your ID and a card. Savaya is cashless, and bags are inspected at the entrance.
- Book the ride home with the night. A driver who waits saves the end of the evening: getting to Savaya and cars with driver.
- Watch the weather. Events can be cancelled for inclement weather, and a registration does not move to another night.
The verdict
Savaya is worth it when you go on the right night for you, with the right way in and a car for the return. Go on a whim on a headline Saturday, without a ticket or a table, and it can be the most frustrating night of the trip. Plan those three things and the setting does the rest.

Questions we get asked
+Is Savaya Bali worth the hype?
For electronic music and a clifftop sunset, most visitors would say yes: DJ Mag's Top 100 Clubs named it number one in Asia three years running (2024–2026). It is worth it if you pick the right night and plan your entry and the ride home.
+Is Savaya a beach club?
