Kaba-Kaba is a village in the Kediri district of Tabanan, west of Canggu, surrounded by wide rice fields and close to Tanah Lot and Nyanyi Beach. FirstBali's villa list has two houses there: a smaller one and a larger one suggested for a group escape. It suits people who want space and quiet with Canggu's beach clubs and restaurants still within reach. Tell the concierge your dates and your group, and the real rate comes back for those dates.

Where Kaba-Kaba is

Kaba-Kaba sits just over the regency line from Badung, in Tabanan, inland and west of Canggu and Pererenan. A study published in the Widyadari journal describes the village through Puri Gede Kaba-Kaba (a puri is a Balinese palace), which it counts among the village's cultural attractions, "a very wide expanse of rice fields" around it, and visitors touring the village by bicycle or on foot along those fields. The same study places it close to Tanah Lot and to Nyanyi Beach.

That is the trade: you are out of Canggu's traffic and noise, in a landscape of fields rather than cafés, and you drive in when you want the coast.

Who Kaba-Kaba suits

It suits less well a stay where you want to walk to dinner or go out every night. For that, look at Canggu or Pererenan.

Going out from Kaba-Kaba

Being west of Canggu puts two kinds of evening on the map:

  • Luna Beach Club, on the Tabanan cliffs inside Nuanu Creative City by Nyanyi Beach, with pools, a water slide, DJs through sunset and fire and light shows in the evening.
  • Canggu and Berawa: FINNS Beach Club on the Berawa beachfront, and Desa Kitsuné, the Savaya Group's village in Canggu, whose Garden becomes a party every Tuesday and Friday, rain or shine. Its parties are 21+ with a valid photo ID.

Luna Beach Club is perched on the cliffs of the Tabanan coast, inside Nuanu Creative City by Nyanyi Beach, west of Canggu. Its bamboo architecture by Inspiral Architects won a Silver award for sustainable and green architecture at the 2024 International Architecture & Design Awards. The complex brings together two pools, jumping platforms and a water slide, Restaurant 369, the Utopia Cave Club and the Gardenia bamboo tree pods. DJs play through sunset, and evenings bring fire and light shows.

FINNS Beach Club stretches along the beachfront at Berawa, in Canggu, under a bamboo structure designed by PBM Architecture. It is adults-only and divided into several party zones, from FINNS Beach Party and FINNS Garden Party to FINNS Grey Goose Party and FINNS VIP Party, with pools, swim-up bars, private cabanas, dance floors and restaurants spread across the site. Resident DJs and live singers keep an all-day party going every day, and the club also hosts private events, birthdays and corporate groups.

Getting around

From a village among rice fields, you will want a car. How to ask

Send the concierge your dates, the number of guests (adults and children), the occasion if there is one, and anything you need in the house.
