Ubud villa rental: what to expect from the area
Renting a villa in Ubud: rice fields, jungle and silence, Akar's charcoal steakhouse nearby, how to plan a night at the partner clubs, and how FirstBali finds a villa for your dates.

A villa in Ubud is for slowing down: rice fields, jungle and silence, in FirstBali's own words on the villas page. Rates are given on request: tell the concierge your dates and group, and the team comes back with what the owner confirms.
What a villa in Ubud is for
The villas page describes Ubud in one line: rice fields, jungle and silence, where people go to slow down. It also names the trip that fits it best, the slow reset: rice fields, no traffic, yoga in the morning, Ubud and the north, quiet by design.
That sets the expectations. An Ubud villa is not a base for going out every night; it is a base for mornings that start early and evenings that end at the villa. The view, the garden and the quiet are the point, and the house matters more than what is around the corner.
Ubud suits:
- Couples who want privacy and green rather than a busy street.
- A reset week: yoga, walks, long breakfasts, early nights.
- Families or groups who want to spend most of their time together at the villa.
- A split stay: a few nights inland, then the coast. Our seven-day itinerary shows how the two fit together.
Our Ubud guide covers the area itself, and the where to stay guide compares it with the rest of the island. For the coast instead, see the Canggu villa guide or the Uluwatu villa guide.
Dinner near an Ubud villa: Akar
Akar, meaning "root", is the steakhouse of K Club in Kedisan, Tegallalang, north of Ubud, set in the greenery of the jungle. It spreads over two floors with two bars and an open kitchen, and grills Australian and Japanese cuts, Wagyu included, over charcoal, alongside seafood, charcoal-roasted bone marrow and a curated wine list. On Friday and Saturday nights dinner turns festive, with live DJs, dancers and a laser show. Akar has won Best Luxury Steakhouse in Indonesia at the World Luxury Restaurant Awards.
It is the address for the one night of the week when the group wants an occasion without leaving the hills. Our Akar guide has the details.
A night at the partner clubs from Ubud
FirstBali's three flagship partners are on the coast, so from Ubud a night out is planned rather than improvised. Book a car with a driver for the evening, there and back, and treat it as the trip's big night.
Desa Kitsuné, in the heart of Canggu, is a Savaya Group village with Café Kitsuné, Ina Ré and a Maison Kitsuné boutique; every Tuesday and Friday the garden becomes the party, rain or shine. It pairs naturally with a dinner at Ina Ré on the same grounds.

All three are 21+ with a valid photo ID. Each night has its own terms on its page: some open the venue's guestlist, where each guest registers individually and gets a digital ticket by email; some are ticketed only. Registering does not guarantee entry. A table is the only reserved space: FirstBali books it with the venue, and it is yours once the venue confirms it. Many guests move to a coast villa for the last nights of the trip instead; the concierge can arrange both stays.
What to ask before you choose
In Ubud the house is the holiday, so ask about it in detail:
- The view and what is around it: rice fields, jungle, or neighbouring buildings.
- Access: steps, slopes and the path from the car, especially with children or luggage.
- Staff and breakfast: who is on site, and what is included.
- How you will get to dinner: whether the villa is a walk from a village or needs a car every evening.
Our villa rental guide lists the full set of checks, and the staffed villa guide explains what staff usually covers.
How FirstBali books an Ubud villa
Send your dates, the number of guests and the kind of stay you want to the concierge. An assistant answers at any hour and the team follows up through the Bali day and evening. The rate is given on request for your dates, never estimated in advance, and the booking is confirmed only once the owner has confirmed it; any deposit follows the agreed terms and is not a confirmation. If you want a private chef, a driver for a night on the coast or a table at one of the partner clubs, say so in the same message: the concierge checks what can be arranged.
