Luna vs Finns: which Bali beach club suits your day

Luna or Finns? A bamboo cliff-top complex with a slide into a cave club and fire shows, or Canggu's adults-only all-day party on the beach. Who each suits, the seats and the rules.

Updated October 21, 2026 · 4 min read

Luna and Finns are both all-day beach clubs west of the busy south, but they are different days out. Luna sits on the cliffs of the Tabanan coast inside Nuanu Creative City, west of Canggu: two pools, jumping platforms, a water slide into a cave club, bamboo tree pods and fire and light shows every evening — and children are welcome by day. Finns is on the beachfront at Berawa in Canggu, adults-only, with an all-day party across several zones every day. Families and the curious lean to Luna; a group of adults who want the party from the first drink lean to Finns.

The short answer

  • Travelling with children: Luna, by day. Finns is adults-only.
  • The party from the start: Finns, with resident DJs and live singers every day.
  • Things to do beyond a daybed: Luna — the slide, the jumping platforms, the cave, the shows.
  • A seat with a view and your own waiter: a Gardenia tree pod at Luna.
  • A drink at sunset without booking: Finns, which has free social areas and bars.
  • Staying in Berawa or Seminyak: Finns is closer to you; Luna is a trip further west and best planned as a day.

The setting

Luna is perched on the cliffs by Nyanyi Beach, and it is a small resort of things to do rather than a single terrace. Its bamboo architecture, by Inspiral Architects, won a Silver award for sustainable and green architecture at the 2024 International Architecture & Design Awards. Inside: the main pool and stage, the Utopia Cave Club with its infinity pool and swim-up bar, Restaurant 369, a beer garden and the Gardenia Tree Pods hung above the stage.

Finns stretches along the beach at Berawa under a bamboo structure designed by PBM Architecture, split into several party zones — among them FINNS Beach Party, FINNS Garden Party and FINNS VIP Party — with pools, swim-up bars, private cabanas, dance floors and restaurants. Finns calls itself the world's best beach club.

Who it suits

Luna suits a mixed day: families in the morning, friends who want to try the slide, a couple who came for the sunset and the fire show. Under its terms, children are welcome at the main pool, the beach club, the restaurant and the beer garden until the evening; the cave becomes adults-only, eighteen and over, from the early afternoon, and the slide closes to under-eighteens at the same moment.

Finns suits adults who want a party: a group of friends, a birthday, a hen or stag day. There is no family side to plan around, and no activity to schedule — the music is the programme. See adults-only beach clubs.

The seats

At Luna, the booking terms list daybeds, sofas, booths, high tables, pods, tree houses and cabanas. A daybed or sofa by the main pool for a sunny day; a booth or high table in the cave for the party side; a tree pod, or the whole canopy, for privacy and a view of the shows. Early-bird bookings come with an arrival window, a booking is held only for a limited time after the agreed arrival, and the exact spot is assigned on the day.

At Finns: daybeds facing the water, the ones nearest the sea going first; private cabanas for a bigger group; and free bars for those who just want to turn up.

At both, the venue sets the food and drink minimum for the seat and the day. FirstBali asks for your date and passes on the confirmed amount; nothing is quoted before that, and a deposit, if asked, follows the venue's terms and is not a confirmation.

Evenings

Luna keeps going after sunset with the fire show and the light show on the main stage every evening; from Friday to Sunday a saxophonist and a live singer join in, and Restaurant 369 turns into what Luna calls a supper club. Finns carries its party on after dark with the DJs and singers. Neither is a late club: for that, the Canggu night continues at Desa Kitsuné on its garden-party nights.

Rules worth knowing

Luna has no formal dress code, but no wet swimwear in the restaurant and shoes off at the cave; pets are not allowed anywhere on the property. Finns is adults-only: bring a photo ID. For what to wear at either, read the beach club dress code.

Getting there

Finns is on Berawa's beach road, which gets busy towards sunset. Luna is further west on the Tabanan coast, on country roads that are poorly lit at night. At either, a driver who waits beats a scooter after an afternoon of drinks — see our cars.

How FirstBali books it

Each venue answers on availability and its minimum; you choose, and the seat is yours once the venue confirms it. Our assistant replies at any hour; the team picks up through the Bali day and evening.
