Pick Savaya for a big night built around the view: a clifftop club in Uluwatu, open daily, where the sunset leads into the club and weekends mostly bring international headliners. Pick Desa Kitsuné for a garden party in Canggu: a lifestyle village with a café, a restaurant and a boutique, whose Garden becomes the party every Tuesday and Friday, rain or shine. Both belong to Savaya Group, both are 21+ and smart casual, and both run the same kind of guestlist — with different details.

Setting: a cliff or a garden

Savaya is in Pecatu, on the Bukit peninsula, "100 metres above the Indian Ocean", between jungle and limestone cliffs, with pools and The Cube, the landmark that frames the horizon. DJ Mag's Top 100 Clubs named it number one in Asia three years running (2024–2026) and number five in the world in 2026.

Desa Kitsuné calls itself "a unique lifestyle village located in the heart of Canggu". Desa means village in Indonesian. Within a 5,000 m² garden sit Café Kitsuné, the Ina Ré restaurant, a Maison Kitsuné boutique and the Garden where the parties happen. Neither venue is a beach club.

Every day, or two nights a week

The biggest practical difference is the calendar.

  • Savaya is open daily. Last Light on Mondays, a sunset set from The Cube; Savaya Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday; on Fridays, Southern Tribe once a month, the monthly Full Moon on some, guest nights on others; at weekends, mostly international headliners.
  • Desa Kitsuné parties on Tuesdays and Fridays in the Garden. Tuesdays bring guest DJs. Fridays, in the venue's words, are about "celebrating and supporting local talent": "DJs are Bali based from international backgrounds." There are occasional one-off nights on other days.

If your stay has no Tuesday or Friday free, the choice makes itself. How the two Desa Kitsuné nights differ is in Desa Kitsuné on Tuesday and Friday.

The scale of the night

Savaya is the occasion: a headline act, a sunset over the ocean, a night you plan a trip around. Desa Kitsuné is closer to a neighbourhood night in a garden, where you can have dinner at Ina Ré and walk into the party. That evening is laid out in Desa Kitsuné from day to night.

The guestlist

The principle is shared: FirstBali gives you the link to the night's guestlist page, you register yourself — each person, each event — and a digital ticket arrives by email. Joining is free and gives complimentary entry before the night's cutoff, reduced entry after. Registration does not guarantee entry, and mixed groups and couples are strongly preferred.

The details differ:

  • Savaya: complimentary entry before the cutoff on the night's page, reduced after. Some headline weekend nights are ticketed only, with official tickets sold only through Savaya's own channel.
  • Desa Kitsuné: the complimentary cutoff is earlier for men than for women, reduced entry follows, and later in the night a full-price tier applies to men. Many nights from November onwards are ticketed only, and the venue reserves the right to refuse entry "even if a guestlist registration has been approved."

Never assume a night has a list; its page says so.

The door

Both are 21+; Savaya asks for a valid photo ID (passport or driver's licence), Desa Kitsuné says valid government ID may be required. Both ask for smart casual and refuse beer-branded singlets, cut-off clothing and sportswear. Then:

  • Savaya also refuses work jeans or denim, and swimwear is for the pools only.
  • Desa Kitsuné is stricter on shoes and accessories: no flip-flops, boots or hard-sole shoes, no chains, no baggy or torn clothing.

Savaya is cashless and inspects bags.

Tables

At both, a table is the only reserved space, with a minimum spend set by the venue for each night; we do not quote it. At Savaya, a table is also the only way to be allowed re-entry. Each night's Table button on the events calendar opens the venue group's own table map when one is published. FirstBali books the table with the venue on your behalf, and it is yours once the venue confirms it.

Getting there

Savaya is at the southern end of the island, in Pecatu. Desa Kitsuné is in Canggu, on the west coast. The two are on different sides of the island's nightlife, so it is rare to do both in one night; plan them on different days, and book the ride home before you go through transport.

Who each suits

  • A first night out in Bali, or a celebration with a view: Savaya, ideally with a table.
  • Staying in Canggu: Desa Kitsuné on a Tuesday or a Friday.
  • Staying in Uluwatu: Savaya.
  • Dinner and a party in one place: Desa Kitsuné, with Ina Ré before the Garden.
  • A sunset: Savaya's Last Light on a Monday.
  • Bali's own DJ scene: Desa Kitsuné's Fridays.
  • An international headliner: Savaya at the weekend — check whether the night is ticketed only.
