A first visit to Zumana is a day that turns into a night: an afternoon on the beachfront at Sunset Bay in Kuta, the sun going down over the water, then a DJ and an open-air dance floor. The door is strictly 21+ with photo ID, the dress is smart casual, and inside you pay by card or QRIS only — no cash. Pick your night below, join its guestlist if it has one, or ask the concierge for a table.

What Zumana is

Zumana is "a Savaya Group Property": the beach club of the group behind Savaya in Uluwatu and Desa Kitsuné in Canggu. It sits on the beachfront at Sunset Bay, on Jl. Kartika Plaza in Kuta, and it is open daily.

The venue was designed by Rockwell Group and is laid out as beachfront daybeds, poolside spaces, bars and an open-air dance floor. Its centrepiece is ZENÍA, "The Eternal Host", a 10-metre sculpture by the artist Daniel Popper, made over nearly two years with Balinese artisans in Ubud. She greets you as you arrive; further in, her mask opens onto a second view, framed by the ocean and the performance space she anchors. The restaurant is called Manuza.

The venue's background is in our Zumana guide and the programme day by day in Zumana's weekly nights. This page is about the visit itself.

How the day becomes a night

Zumana describes itself in three movements, and they are the best way to picture a first visit:

  • Day. "The shore wakes slowly… Come early. Settle in. Let the day unfold at its own pace."
  • Sunset. "This is the moment ZUMANA was built for. The horizon catches fire, the tribe gathers by the shore, and something shifts in the air."
  • Night. "When the sun drops, the shore transforms. The music rises, the energy deepens, and the night becomes something you did not plan for."

Savaya Group's own announcement says the same thing in plainer words: a venue that moves from relaxed afternoons and sunset gatherings to late-night performances. Kuta's long sandy beach lies on the western side of the peninsula — it is also known as Sunset Beach — so the sun goes down over the sea in front of you.

Not every day has the same shape. Sunday, Monday and Tuesday are the regular days and start in the afternoon; Wednesdays and Fridays are built around a headline artist; Saturday is Ritual of the Sun, the weekly sunset night.

Who you will find there

Zumana is for adults only. Its guestlist form asks every guest whether they live in Bali full time, are here for a few months or are just visiting: residents and travellers share the same beach. The venue's terms also say plainly that mixed groups and couples are strongly preferred, which is worth knowing if you are a group of friends of one gender.

Kuta was one of the first towns on Bali to see substantial tourism, and Savaya Group presents Zumana as a way of "honoring the spirit and energy that made Kuta iconic". Once a month, a Thursday called Made in Kuta brings together local talent, music, food and culture.

The door

  • Age. "We strictly enforce a 21+ policy." Bring the original of a valid passport or driver's licence.
  • Dress. Smart casual — the event pages say "upscale beach chic". No denim, beer-branded singlets, cut-off clothing, athletic sportswear or flip-flops; swimwear in the pools only. The full list is in the Zumana dress code.
  • Bags. Every bag is searched, with metal detectors and body checks. Outside food and drink, props, inflatables, professional cameras, tripods, drones and sharp objects stay outside.
  • The last word. Management can refuse entry, cap capacity or close an event, and a guestlist registration does not guarantee free entry.

Inside

  • No cash. Zumana accepts card and QRIS payments only.
  • No coming back. Re-entry is not permitted unless you have a table; with a table, see a guest experience officer before you step out. Once you are in, plan to stay.
  • Standing or seated. Guestlist and ticket entry are essentially standing: general admission seating is limited and first come, first served. A daybed, a sofa or a cabana is a table booking.

Planning your first visit

  1. Choose the night from the calendar — a regular day for an easy start, a Saturday for the sunset ritual, a Wednesday or a Friday for a headliner.
  2. Read that night's terms. Some nights have a guestlist, some are ticketed only. On a guestlist night, each person registers individually and receives a digital ticket by email, and entry is free only before the cutoff shown on the page. The detail is in the Zumana guestlist.
  3. Or take a table if you want your own space, a daybed for the sunset, or the freedom to step out and come back. Zumana sets the minimum spend for each night; FirstBali books the table with the venue, and it is yours once Zumana confirms it.
  4. Plan the way home before you leave: how to get to Zumana covers parking, the drop-off point and the return.

Your first Zumana, through FirstBali

Tell the concierge the date and how many you are. FirstBali sends you the guestlist link for that night, or asks Zumana for a table and comes back with what the venue confirms, and can add a car with a driver for the way there and back.
