A 50th birthday in Bali usually brings several generations to the same island, and the simplest plan follows who can go where: a family day at a beach club that welcomes children, a celebration dinner everyone attends, and, for the adults who want it, a table at Savaya, Zumana or Desa Kitsuné, all three strictly 21+. Plan around the guest list, not the venue
At a 30th the group is friends; at a 40th it is often friends and partners. At a 50th, the guest list may run from teenage children to the birthday person's own parents. The 21+ rule at the partner clubs is not negotiable: each guest shows a valid passport or driver's licence at the door. So the celebration splits naturally into chapters, and each chapter has its own venue.
Chapter one: a family day by the sea
White Rock Beach Club sits on Melasti Beach in Ungasan, near Uluwatu, at the end of the cliff. Families have a kids' pool and a kids' menu, the adults have daybeds, sofas and cabanas around a lagoon pool and a rock pool, and there is a spa for anyone who would rather step away. Chapter two: the dinner everyone attends
The dinner is the heart of a 50th, the moment for speeches and the photograph with everyone in it. Choose a room that suits all ages.
- The Apurva Kempinski, Nusa Dua. A five-star resort on the Nusa Dua cliffs, with several venues: Koral, which the hotel presents as Bali's first aquarium restaurant, serving set and tasting menus beside the tanks (adults only at dinner); Bai Yun for hot pot and dim sum; and L'Atelier by Cyril Kongo, a lounge with ocean views. - Savaya, Uluwatu. On the Pecatu clifftop, 100 metres above the Indian Ocean, with The Cube framing the horizon. Savaya reports that DJ Mag's Top 100 Clubs named it number one in Asia from 2024 to 2026 and fifth in the world in 2026. - Desa Kitsuné, Canggu. A garden party every Tuesday and Friday, rain or shine, a short walk from Ina Ré.
The table is the only reserved space; its minimum spend is set by the venue for each night, and the Savaya and Zumana maps state that it includes food and beverage credit. At Savaya and Zumana a table is also the only way to step out and return. The table is yours once the venue confirms it, and any deposit follows the venue's terms without being a confirmation. Where everyone stays
