Bali nightlife for over 30s: sunset, dinner, a table

Over 30 in Bali? Build the night your way: a sunset session at Savaya or a cliff bar, dinner that turns festive, a garden party at Desa Kitsuné, a beach club daybed, and a table of your own.

Bali's nightlife has no age ceiling: the clubs set a minimum of 21, not a maximum. What changes after thirty is usually the shape of the night people want. The island suits that well: a sunset session on a cliff, a long dinner that turns into a party, a garden party rather than a club, a beach club daybed, and a table of your own if you want a place to sit. Here is how to build it.

Start with the sunset

Bali's west-facing coast makes sunset the natural first act, and several venues build a whole session around it.

  • Savaya, Last Light. Every Monday, Savaya's sunset session on the cliff above the Indian Ocean. In the venue's words, it is the place on the Bukit Peninsula "where the magic hour isn't a backdrop. It's the main event". See Savaya Last Light.
  • Zumana, Ritual of the Sun. Saturdays at Sunset Bay in Kuta, on beachfront daybeds and around the pool. See Zumana's Ritual of the Sun.
  • Rock Bar. AYANA's bar on the rocks in Jimbaran, reached by inclinator: you watch the sun set over the sea, then stay as the DJs play on.
  • El Kabron. On the Pecatu cliffs, with the Sunset Theater at the cliff edge set up for sunset dinners, and sunset parties with live saxophone, violin and trumpet alongside the DJs.

Dinner first

Plenty of Bali's restaurants are built for a night that does not stop at dessert:

  • Sardine and Les Toilettes. A seafood dinner at Sardine in Seminyak, then Les Toilettes, the club at the same address, without changing venue.
  • MOI in Berawa, where the mood shifts after sunset and the evening turns into a party; Bazaar MOI adds dancers and costumes to an Eastern Mediterranean dinner.
  • Akar near Ubud, where dinner turns festive on Friday and Saturday nights with live DJs, dancers and a laser show.
  • Ina Ré, the restaurant of Desa Kitsuné, on the same grounds as the Garden party on Tuesdays and Fridays.
Sardine

Sardine

Restaurants · Seminyak

Sardine by K-Club is a seafood restaurant on Jalan Petitenget in Seminyak, set in an open-air bamboo building that looks over a stretch of rice paddies, with a terrace for lunch or dinner. The kitchen cooks the daily catch (yellowfin tuna, scallops, snapper) in a modern Mediterranean style, with vegetables from its own farms and a vegetarian set menu. Evenings can run late: Les Toilettes, the hidden club on site, hosts DJs, and once a month The Gates of Bali brings fire dancers and aerial acts.

Moi

Moi

Restaurants · Berawa

MOI Canggu is a Mediterranean restaurant on Jalan Pantai Berawa, inspired by the Aegean and by Bodrum, home of its sister address MOI Bodrum. The kitchen works with fire and Mediterranean flavours, for dinners meant to be lingered over, and the cocktails draw on sun-warmed botanicals. After sunset the mood shifts and the evening turns into a party. Themed nights include Monday Society and Bazaar MOI, an Eastern Mediterranean dinner spectacle with dancers and costumes.

Akar

Akar

Restaurants · Ubud

Akar, meaning “root”, is the steakhouse of K Club in Kedisan, Tegallalang, north of Ubud, set in the greenery of the jungle. Spread over two floors with two bars and an open kitchen, it grills Australian and Japanese cuts, Wagyu included, over charcoal, alongside seafood, charcoal-roasted bone marrow and a curated wine list. On Friday and Saturday nights dinner turns festive, with live DJs, dancers and a laser show. Akar has won Best Luxury Steakhouse in Indonesia at the World Luxury Restaurant Awards.

Ina Ré

Ina Ré

Restaurants · Canggu

Ina Ré is the restaurant of Desa Kitsuné, the lifestyle village on Jalan Munduk Catu in Canggu. Chilean executive chef Cristian Encina brings together Mediterranean flavours and Latin American street food: paellas to share, ceviches, tacos, empanadas and wood-fired meats such as the Stockyard tomahawk. The space draws on Balinese arts and crafts, with handmade materials, weavings and traditional motifs, and includes private dining rooms for groups. Sunday brunch has its own menu, and so do Courtyard Saturdays.

A table, not standing room

If you would rather have a sofa than a spot on the floor, book a table. At Savaya, tickets are primarily for standing room only and the guestlist gives standing entry; a table is the only reserved space. It comes with a minimum spend the venue sets for the night, which at Savaya and Zumana includes food and beverage credit, and at both it is also the only way to leave and come back in during the night. FirstBali books it with the venue, and it is yours once the venue confirms it.

A garden party

Desa Kitsuné is a lifestyle village in the heart of Canggu, with Café Kitsuné, Ina Ré and a Maison Kitsuné boutique around a garden. Every Tuesday and Friday the Garden becomes the party, rain or shine: guest DJs on Tuesdays, Bali-based DJs on Fridays. It is a party outdoors, among trees rather than walls, with dinner on site. It is 21+, smart casual, and its own dress rules exclude flip-flops and sportswear.

Beach clubs by day and into the evening

For a long afternoon that becomes the evening, a beach club daybed does the job. Zumana is open daily at Sunset Bay. Le Bleu in Nusa Dua brings a French Riviera look and festive Sunday gatherings with a DJ. On the cliffs of Tabanan, Luna Beach Club has DJs through sunset and fire and light shows in the evening. For adults-only options, see adults-only beach clubs.

Zumana

Zumana

Beach clubs · Kuta

Zumana is a beach club at Sunset Bay in Kuta, a Savaya Group property designed by Rockwell Group around beachfront daybeds, poolside spaces, bars and an open-air dance floor. Its centrepiece is ZENÍA, "The Eternal Host", a 10-metre sculpture by Daniel Popper made with Balinese artisans from Ubud, and its restaurant is Manuza. Open daily: Zumana Sunday, Monday and Tuesday every week, headliners on Wednesdays and Fridays, Ritual of the Sun on Saturdays. 21+, smart casual.

Le Bleu

Le Bleu

Beach clubs · Nusa Dua

Le Bleu by K Club is a beachfront restaurant and beach club on Nusa Dua Beach, in the ITDC resort area, run by the K-Club Group. The look is French Riviera by way of Bali, all blue and white, with sunbeds, cabanas, terraces and an indoor dining room. The kitchen leans on seafood, from lobster linguine to yellowfin tuna tataki, with vegetarian and vegan options. The weekly programme mixes yoga, cocktail workshops, beach games and festive Sunday gatherings with a DJ.

Luna Beach Club

Luna Beach Club

Beach clubs · Tabanan

Luna Beach Club is perched on the cliffs of the Tabanan coast, inside Nuanu Creative City by Nyanyi Beach, west of Canggu. Its bamboo architecture by Inspiral Architects won a Silver award for sustainable and green architecture at the 2024 International Architecture & Design Awards. The complex brings together two pools, jumping platforms and a water slide, Restaurant 369, the Utopia Cave Club and the Gardenia bamboo tree pods. DJs play through sunset, and evenings bring fire and light shows.

The big night, when you want it

Over thirty does not mean skipping the headliners. Savaya brings international names mostly at weekends, and Zumana on Wednesdays and Fridays. Some of these nights carry a guestlist and some are ticketed only; the terms change night by night, and each night's page shows them. With a table, a headliner night can be as comfortable as you want it to be.

Practical points

  • The door is the same for everyone: 21+, a valid photo ID such as a passport or driver's licence at Savaya, smart casual. Mixed groups and couples are strongly preferred at Savaya, Zumana and Desa Kitsuné.
  • Book the car home first. FirstBali arranges a car with a driver for the evening.
  • Ask early for tables in high season.

The coming nights

Pick a night, join its guestlist from its page, or tell the concierge the date, the group and the kind of evening you want. The assistant replies at any hour; anything that needs the team overnight is picked up in the morning.
