Bali beach club for groups: one seat, one plan, one ride

A group at a Bali beach club needs a reserved space that holds everyone, a club whose door terms fit the group, every ID in hand and one plan for getting there and back. Here is how to set it up.

A group day at a Bali beach club works when four things are settled before anyone leaves the villa: a reserved space that holds the whole group, a club whose door terms suit who is coming, an original ID for every person if the club is adults-only or 21+, and one car or van for everyone. Without a reservation, a group is at the mercy of whatever is free on arrival, and that rarely seats everyone together. FirstBali asks the club and arranges the ride through the concierge.

Pick the club for the group, not the photo

The clubs describe themselves very differently, and a group is happiest where the description fits.

  • A party group of adults: Finns Beach Club in Berawa is adults-only and split into party zones with pools, swim-up bars, cabanas and dance floors. Atlas Beach Club, next door, has distinct zones from The Deck restaurant to the Party Side in front of the stage, and daily shows.
  • A group with children: White Rock on Melasti Beach has a kids' pool and a kids' menu, a covered restaurant and enclosed, air-conditioned party suites. Le Bleu in Nusa Dua is calmer, with sunbeds, cabanas, beach games and a weekly programme.
  • A 21+ group that wants the Savaya Group: Zumana at Sunset Bay in Kuta, with beachfront daybeds, poolside spaces and an open-air dance floor.
  • A group that wants something to do between swims: Luna Beach Club on the Tabanan cliffs has two pools, jumping platforms and a water slide; Atlas has a beachfront padel court and a flying fox.
Finns Beach Club

Finns Beach Club

Beach clubs · Berawa

FINNS Beach Club stretches along the beachfront at Berawa, in Canggu, under a bamboo structure designed by PBM Architecture. It is adults-only and divided into several party zones, from FINNS Beach Party and FINNS Garden Party to FINNS Grey Goose Party and FINNS VIP Party, with pools, swim-up bars, private cabanas, dance floors and restaurants spread across the site. Resident DJs and live singers keep an all-day party going every day, and the club also hosts private events, birthdays and corporate groups.

Atlas Beach Club

Atlas Beach Club

Beach clubs · Berawa

Atlas Beach Club sits on Berawa Beach and bills itself as the biggest beach club in the world. Its signature beanbags sit right on the sand facing the sea, beside a vast pool and a pool bar where DJs play through the day. Daybeds and sofas are spread across distinct zones, from The Deck restaurant overlooking the beach to the Party Side in front of the stage. Daily shows draw on the four elements, and a beachfront padel court and a 100-metre flying fox complete the site.

White Rock Beach Club

White Rock Beach Club

Beach clubs · Uluwatu

White Rock Beach Club sits on Melasti Beach in Ungasan, near Uluwatu, at the end of the cliff. Guests settle on daybeds, sofas or cabanas around a lagoon pool and a rock pool; families have a kids' pool and a kids' menu. There is a spa, a large covered restaurant serving local and international dishes, and enclosed, air-conditioned party suites overlooking the pool and the ocean. Resident DJs play every day, and foam parties run at weekends. The club also hosts weddings and events.

Zumana

Zumana

Beach clubs · Kuta

Zumana is a beach club at Sunset Bay in Kuta, a Savaya Group property designed by Rockwell Group around beachfront daybeds, poolside spaces, bars and an open-air dance floor. Its centrepiece is ZENÍA, "The Eternal Host", a 10-metre sculpture by Daniel Popper made with Balinese artisans from Ubud, and its restaurant is Manuza. Open daily: Zumana Sunday, Monday and Tuesday every week, headliners on Wednesdays and Fridays, Ritual of the Sun on Saturdays. 21+, smart casual.

A space that holds everyone

A single daybed is made for a small group. A bigger group looks at a cabana, several beds side by side, a sofa area or, at White Rock, a party suite. Ask the club for seats together rather than one large space if that is what is free: two beds next to each other often beat a wait for the one cabana. Each seat carries its own terms, set by the club for that day, and how cabanas are booked explains the formats.

On Zumana's nights, and at Savaya, the picture changes: a table is the only reserved space, its minimum spend is set by the venue per night, and the maps say it "Includes Food & Beverage Credit". For a big group at a partner club, the table is the plan.

The door and the group

Published terms matter more for groups than for couples.

  1. Every person needs ID at 21+ clubs: an original passport or driver's licence. One missing passport can stop one friend at the door.
  2. Mixed groups and couples are strongly preferred at Savaya, Zumana and Desa Kitsuné, in the venues' own words. A group of men should expect the door to look closely; at Desa Kitsuné, the guestlist cutoff for men is earlier.
  3. A guestlist is individual. Each guest registers on the night's page and receives a digital ticket by email; registering does not guarantee complimentary entry, and management decides.

Groups of guys and mixed groups go further on the door.

One person runs the day

Our advice: name one organiser. That person sends the request, holds the confirmation from the club, knows the seat and the name it is under, and is the one the staff deal with. It saves the scene of ten friends each explaining a booking at the entrance.

Moving the group

Taxis one by one scatter a group across the island and back. A van or an Alphard with a driver keeps everyone together, waits through the day and brings everyone home at once. Ask for it with the seat through transport; a van with driver covers the options.

Celebrations

Hen and stag parties, birthdays and reunions are the commonest group days. Say so when you ask: the club may be able to arrange something for the moment, and the concierge checks what can be arranged. The day often runs into a night; a large group night out covers the evening, and a hen party in Bali the bride's version.

How FirstBali helps

Send the concierge the date, the area you are staying in, how many adults, any children and their ages, the occasion and whether you want a car. The team asks the club; the seat or table is yours once the club confirms it, and any deposit follows the club's terms and is not a confirmation. An assistant answers at any hour, the team through the Bali day and evening.

Questions we get asked

+Which Bali beach club suits a big group?

It depends on the group: Finns and Atlas describe party zones for adults, White Rock has a kids' pool and party suites, Zumana is 21+ with beachfront daybeds.

+Can a group of men get into Zumana or Savaya?

Entry is at management's discretion and mixed groups and couples are strongly preferred. No one can guarantee entry.

+Does everyone in the group need ID?

At 21+ clubs, yes: each person shows an original passport or driver's licence.

+Can the group register on a guestlist together?

No. At the partner clubs each guest registers individually on the night's page and receives their own digital ticket.

+Can FirstBali arrange transport for the whole group?

Yes, ask for a van or an Alphard with driver along with the seat, and the concierge checks availability.
