Birthday for him in Bali: four ways to plan the day

Planning his birthday in Bali? Start from the day he would love — a drive, a serious steak, a speakeasy, a headliner night at Savaya — then book the pieces. Ideas, venues and the door terms.

To plan his birthday in Bali, start from the day he would love, not from a venue: a drive in a car he would never rent at home; a serious steak dinner; a hidden bar; or a big night with friends at Savaya or Zumana. Each shape below is built on places and cars FirstBali books, and the concierge can arrange them in one conversation. Any surprise is a request we pass on to the venue, and becomes a plan only once the venue says yes.

Four shapes for his birthday

  1. The drive: a supercar or a convertible for the day.
  2. The steak: a dinner built around the grill.
  3. The hidden bar: a speakeasy with a password.
  4. The big night: a table at Savaya or Zumana with his friends.

They combine well two at a time — a drive and a dinner, or a dinner and the club. All four in one day usually means too much road.

The drive

The vehicle list includes cars made for a birthday: a Ferrari California Cabriolet, a Lamborghini Huracán, a McLaren 720S, a Mercedes-AMG G63. Check the rental conditions and the documents asked for before you book; the supercar rental guide explains them. For the evening, keep the supercar for the day and book a driver for the night.

The steak

Aged & Butchered, inside The Komu hotel in Berawa, is built around a meat library of dry-aged cuts grilled over coffee-wood charcoal, with yakiniku-style grills at the table where the chefs cook in front of guests, a sake fountain and an extensive wine collection. Near Ubud, Akar grills Australian and Japanese cuts over charcoal in the jungle; on Friday and Saturday nights dinner turns festive, with live DJs, dancers and a laser show. Akar has won Best Luxury Steakhouse in Indonesia at the World Luxury Restaurant Awards. More in the steakhouse guide.

The hidden bar

The Shady Pig, on Jalan Pantai Berawa, hides behind an unmarked door, and you need the password to get in. The cocktails lean experimental — distillation, barrel ageing, fermentation, a barrel-aged Negroni — with small plates alongside, and DJs take over later. Like Aged & Butchered, it is in Berawa, so dinner and a drink stay in one area.

The big night

Savaya, on the Pecatu clifftop in Uluwatu, frames the horizon with The Cube; DJ Mag's Top 100 Clubs named it the number-one club in Asia from 2024 to 2026 and fifth in the world. Weekends bring international headliners, and Mondays are Last Light, a sunset set from The Cube. Zumana, at Sunset Bay in Kuta, is the Savaya Group's beach club, with an open-air dance floor; Saturdays are Ritual of the Sun. Both are 21+ with a valid photo ID and smart casual; at both, re-entry is only with a table. See Savaya birthdays and Zumana birthdays.

If his friends are all men

The door terms matter for a group of guys. The three partner clubs say mixed groups and couples are strongly preferred, and registration on the guestlist does not guarantee complimentary entry; management decides. At Desa Kitsuné, the Canggu garden party on Tuesdays and Fridays, men have an earlier guestlist cutoff, shown on the night's page. A table is the only reserved space. The group of guys guide goes further.

Table or guestlist

A table's minimum spend is set by the venue for each night, and the table is his once the venue confirms it; any deposit follows the venue's terms and is not a confirmation. The guestlists are free to join: each guest registers individually on the night's page, linked from the events calendar, and receives a digital ticket by email. Some nights are ticketed only.

The surprise touches

A cake when the lights drop, a bottle brought out at the table, his name on a sign: tell the concierge what you picture and we ask the venue what it allows. Some will say no; nothing is promised until the venue confirms. To keep it secret, read the surprise party guide.

How FirstBali arranges it

Send the concierge the date, the shape you chose, how many guests, and what he must not find out. We ask each venue and the car's owner for availability and terms, and each booking is yours once it is confirmed. An assistant answers at any hour, the team through the Bali day and evening.

Questions we get asked

+What can I do for his birthday in Bali?

Choose one or two shapes: a supercar for the day, a steak dinner at Aged & Butchered or Akar, a drink at The Shady Pig, or a table at Savaya or Zumana with his friends.

+Can I rent a supercar for his birthday?

Yes, the list includes a Ferrari California Cabriolet, a Lamborghini Huracán, a McLaren 720S and a Mercedes-AMG G63. The concierge checks availability and the documents asked for.

+Will a group of men get into the clubs?

Savaya, Zumana and Desa Kitsuné say mixed groups and couples are strongly preferred, and Desa Kitsuné has an earlier guestlist cutoff for men. Entry is never guaranteed; a table is the only reserved space.

+Can the club bring out a cake?

The concierge passes the request to the venue and tells you what it allows. Nothing is promised until the venue confirms it.

+How much is a table at Savaya for a birthday?

The minimum spend is set by Savaya for each night and includes food and beverage credit; the concierge confirms it with the venue for your date.

+What should he bring to the club?

A valid photo ID, such as a passport or driver's licence: all three partner clubs are 21+. Savaya is cashless and bags are searched.
