Birthday for her in Bali: four ways to plan the day

Planning her birthday in Bali? Start from the day she would love — slow and spoilt, by the sea, a party with friends, or a sunset and a club — then book the pieces. Ideas, venues and how to book.

To plan her birthday in Bali, start from the kind of day she would love, not from a venue: a slow, spoilt day; an afternoon by the sea; a party with her friends; or a sunset and a big night on the cliffs. Each shape below is built on places FirstBali books, and the concierge can arrange the dinner, the table, the car and any surprise request in one conversation. The surprises are requests we pass on to the venue; each is a plan only once the venue says yes.

Four shapes for her birthday

  1. Slow and spoilt: a spa, a long lunch, a candlelit dinner.
  2. By the sea: a beach club daybed that runs into the evening.
  3. A party with her friends: dinner and a garden party in Canggu.
  4. Sunset and a big night: a cliff-edge dinner, then Savaya.

Pick one; trying to fit all four into a day is how a birthday ends up in traffic.

Slow and spoilt

Begin with a treatment: Regent Bali Canggu, on Batu Bolong, is home to the first Regent Spa & Wellness. Then a dinner for its setting: Le Bleu, on Nusa Dua Beach, is a beachfront restaurant in blue and white with a French Riviera look and a seafood kitchen. More settings in our romantic dinner guide and the spa day guide.

By the sea

Zumana, at Sunset Bay in Kuta, is a Savaya Group beach club built around beachfront daybeds, poolside spaces and an open-air dance floor, watched over by ZENÍA, a sculpture by Daniel Popper made with Balinese artisans from Ubud. Manuza, its restaurant, keeps lunch or dinner on site. A daybed through the afternoon becomes a birthday when the friends arrive for the evening; Saturdays are Ritual of the Sun. Zumana is 21+ and smart casual.

A party with her friends

Desa Kitsuné in Canggu is a lifestyle village by the Savaya Group and Maison Kitsuné: Café Kitsuné, the Ina Ré restaurant and a Maison Kitsuné boutique share the grounds. Every Tuesday and Friday the Garden becomes the party, rain or shine. Dinner at Ina Ré, which has private dining rooms for groups, can lead straight into the party, and a gift from the boutique can be chosen a few steps away. Desa Kitsuné birthdays has the detail. Note the door terms: the venue says mixed groups and couples are strongly preferred, and men have an earlier guestlist cutoff than women.

Sunset and a big night

On the Pecatu cliffs, El Kabron's Sunset Theater is set up for sunset dinners at the cliff edge; it is adults-only. Then Savaya, on the same clifftop, frames the horizon with The Cube; DJ Mag's Top 100 Clubs named it the number-one club in Asia from 2024 to 2026. Mondays are Last Light, a sunset set from The Cube, and weekends bring headliners. Savaya is strictly 21+ with a valid photo ID, cashless, and bags are searched. See Savaya birthdays.

Table or guestlist

At Savaya, Zumana and Desa Kitsuné, a table is the only reserved space, and at Savaya and Zumana it is the only way to re-enter. Its minimum spend is set by the venue for the night; the table is hers once the venue confirms it, and any deposit follows the venue's terms and is not a confirmation. The guestlists are free to join, each guest registering individually on the night's page from the events calendar; entry is complimentary before the cutoff shown there, reduced after, and registration does not guarantee it.

The surprise touches

Flowers at the table, a cake at the right moment, her name on a sign: tell the concierge what you picture and we ask the venue what it allows. Some venues will say no, and nothing is promised until they confirm. If it should stay a secret, the surprise party guide explains how to keep it.

The car

A driver who waits all evening lets her enjoy the night. For an entrance, the concierge can ask about a Rolls-Royce Ghost; for a daytime drive with the roof down, a Mini Cooper Cabriolet. See the limousine guide.

How FirstBali arranges it

Send the concierge the date, the shape you have chosen, how many guests, and anything she must not find out. We ask each venue for availability and terms, and each booking is yours once the venue confirms it. An assistant answers at any hour, the team through the Bali day and evening.

Questions we get asked

+What can I do for her birthday in Bali?

Choose one shape: a spa and a candlelit dinner, a beach club daybed at Zumana, dinner at Ina Ré and the Desa Kitsuné garden party, or a cliff-edge sunset dinner and Savaya.

+Can the restaurant prepare flowers or a cake?

The concierge passes the request to the venue and tells you what it allows. Nothing is promised until the venue confirms it.

+Which nights are best for a birthday at the partner clubs?

Savaya has Last Light on Mondays and headliners at weekends, Zumana has Ritual of the Sun on Saturdays, and Desa Kitsuné holds garden parties every Tuesday and Friday. The calendar on /events shows each night.

+Does a group of women get in more easily?

The venues say mixed groups and couples are strongly preferred, and at Desa Kitsuné the guestlist cutoff is earlier for men. Entry is never guaranteed; management decides.

+How much does a birthday table cost?

The minimum spend is set by the venue for each night; the concierge confirms the amount with the venue for your date.

+What does she need to bring to the club?

A valid photo ID, such as a passport or driver's licence: Savaya, Zumana and Desa Kitsuné are all 21+. Savaya is cashless and searches bags.
