Birthday at Zumana Bali: how to plan it
For a birthday at Zumana, pick the night, then book a table: a daybed, sofa or cabana for the group, with re-entry. No outside cake or props; ask the concierge and FirstBali asks Zumana.

The best way to celebrate a birthday at Zumana is with a table: a daybed, a sofa or a cabana that belongs to your group for the night, by the water at Sunset Bay in Kuta, with a DJ once it is dark. Choose the night first — Saturday's Ritual of the Sun for a sunset party, a Wednesday or a Friday for a headliner — then ask the concierge to book the table with Zumana; it is yours once Zumana confirms it. Every guest must be 21 or over, with ID.

Choose the night
Zumana is open daily, and each day has its own character:
- Saturday — Ritual of the Sun. The weekly sunset night, usually with a guest artist. For a birthday built around the golden hour, this is the one; more in Ritual of the Sun.
- Wednesday and Friday — headliners. Built around a headline artist. Some have a guestlist, some are ticketed only, so check the night's page before you invite anyone.
- Sunday to Tuesday — the regular days. Zumana Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, every week, starting in the afternoon: the easiest days for a relaxed birthday by the water.
- Thursday — the rotation. ZENÍA, SENJA, Zumana Thursday or, once a month, Made in Kuta, a celebration of local talent, music, food and culture.
If the birthday has a fixed date, start from that date on the calendar above. If it is flexible, pick the night that suits the group and build the rest around it.
Why a table, for a birthday
The guestlist works well for a couple or a few friends, less well for a celebration. It is individual — "Guests are required to register individually for each event they wish to attend" — it is standing entry, and it is free only before the night's cutoff, which is hard to manage when a group arrives in waves.
A table answers the three questions a birthday asks:
- Where do we meet? The only reserved space in the club, for the whole group, all night: a meeting point for friends who arrive late.
- Can the birthday person step out? Yes, with a table: "Re-entry is not permitted at Zumana Bali unless a table reservation has been purchased."
- Where do we sit? On the night's table map, the spaces are named after where they sit — Ocean Edge, Dance Floor, Main Deck — and cabanas take a larger group.
The minimum spend is set by Zumana for each space and each night, and it counts as food and drink credit. FirstBali quotes no figure: it is on the night's map when one is published, or confirmed by Zumana before you commit. How the map reads, space by space, is in Zumana table booking.
Cake, decoration, a surprise
Zumana's own rules shape what you can bring in:
- No outside food or drink. A cake from a bakery stays at the door.
- No props, toys or inflatables. Balloons and party props fall on the wrong side of that rule.
- No candy or gum, and no professional cameras, tripods or drones for the photos.
So anything special has to come from Zumana itself. Tell the concierge what you have in mind — a cake, a message, a moment at the table — and FirstBali asks Zumana what can be arranged for your night. Nothing is promised until the venue has said yes, and what it agrees to is exactly what you get.
Everyone through the door
- 21+ for every guest. Zumana "strictly enforce[s] a 21+ policy" and accepts a valid passport or driver's licence; each guest brings the original. Turning 21 on the trip? Go out on the birthday itself or after, with an ID that shows it — the 21st birthday guide has the plan.
- One dress code for the group. Smart casual, "upscale beach chic": no denim, beer-branded singlets, cut-off clothing, sportswear or flip-flops, and swimwear in the pools only. Send the Zumana dress code to the group chat before the day.
- Mixed groups and couples are strongly preferred, in the venue's own terms.
- Cards, not cash. Zumana accepts card and QRIS only — useful to know before deciding who pays what.
- The door has the last word. Management can refuse entry or close an event at its discretion.
Before and after
Zumana is in Kuta, near Bali's airport, with Legian and Seminyak to the north. For a group, a car with a driver booked both ways is the simplest plan, and how to get to Zumana explains why the return is the part to arrange first.
A birthday that runs over several days can stay in the same family: Savaya on its clifftop in Uluwatu, Desa Kitsuné's garden parties in Canggu on Tuesdays and Fridays. A group villa keeps everyone under one roof, and more ideas across the island are in birthday party in Bali.
How FirstBali books it
Send the concierge:
- the date, or the night you have chosen;
- how many you are;
- the space you would like, from the night's map if it is published;
- any special request for the birthday;
- whether you want a car there and back.
FirstBali asks Zumana, comes back with what the venue confirms, and you decide. The table is yours once Zumana confirms it; the special requests are whatever Zumana agrees to, nothing more.
Questions we get asked
+Can I celebrate my birthday at Zumana Bali?
Yes. The simplest way is a table — a daybed, sofa or cabana reserved for your group for the night. FirstBali books it with Zumana, and it is yours once Zumana confirms it.
+Can I bring a birthday cake to Zumana?
No: outside food and beverages are not permitted. Ask the concierge instead, and FirstBali asks Zumana what can be arranged at your table; nothing is promised until the venue agrees.
+Can I bring balloons or decorations to Zumana?
Toys, props and inflatables are on Zumana's list of prohibited items, and bags are searched at the entrance. Any decoration has to be arranged with the venue.
+Which night is best for a birthday at Zumana?
Saturday's Ritual of the Sun suits a sunset celebration, Wednesdays and Fridays bring a headline artist, and Sunday to Tuesday are the relaxed regular days. Each night's page shows its guest and terms.
+Can I celebrate my 21st at Zumana?
Zumana strictly enforces a 21+ policy with a valid passport or driver's licence, so go on the birthday itself or after, with an ID that shows the date of birth. Every guest in the group must be 21 or over too.
+Do birthday guests need to register on the Zumana guestlist?
On a guestlist night, each person registers individually for that event. For a group with a table, tell the concierge how many you are and FirstBali passes on what Zumana confirms for the table.
