What to wear to Bali clubs, women: the venues' own rules

Bali's clubs publish no women-only rule: the same smart casual applies to all. Denim refused at Savaya and Zumana, flip-flops at three doors, swimwear in the pool only. Each venue's rules.

Updated October 21, 2026 · 4 min read

None of the Bali clubs and beach clubs we checked publishes a dress rule written for women only: the code is smart casual for everyone. In practice, for a woman that means no denim at Savaya and Zumana, no flip-flops at Zumana, Desa Kitsuné and Les Toilettes, no sandals at Les Toilettes, nothing cut-off or sporty, and swimwear only in the pool. Below, each venue's own words, then our advice, marked as such.

Everyone gets the same rules

We read the published dress codes of Savaya, Zumana, Desa Kitsuné, Les Toilettes, El Kabron, White Rock, Finns, Miss Fish and Akar. The only lines that name a gender are written for men (Akar's ban on men's singlets, El Kabron's shirt rule for men at dinner). Everything else applies to everyone, so this guide does not tell you what women "should" look like; it tells you what each door actually refuses.

Savaya, Zumana and Desa Kitsuné

Savaya (Uluwatu): smart casual, because "A visit to Savaya Bali is an occasion, so please dress for it." Not permitted: work jeans or denim, beer-branded singlets, cut-off clothing and athletic sportswear; swimwear is for the pools. Savaya's rules do not name flip-flops or sandals, but the door applies smart casual.

Zumana (Kuta): "upscale beach chic". Not permitted: work jeans or denim, beer-branded singlets, cut-off clothing, athletic sportswear and flip-flops; swimwear in the pools only.

Desa Kitsuné (Canggu): smart casual, and no chains, baggy clothing, hard-sole shoes, boots, flip-flops, sportswear, torn or cut-off clothing or beer-branded singlets. Denim is not on its list, but boots are, which matters for anyone planning ankle boots with a dress.

Savaya Bali

Savaya Bali

Clubs · Uluwatu

Savaya is a clifftop club in Pecatu, Uluwatu, set 100 metres above the Indian Ocean between jungle and limestone cliffs, with pools and The Cube, the landmark that frames its horizon. Named the number-one club in Asia three years running (2024–2026) and fifth in the world in 2026 in DJ Mag's Top 100 Clubs, it is open daily: Last Light every Monday, weekday nights, and international headliners at weekends. Strictly 21+, smart casual.

Its centrepiece is ZENÍA, "The Eternal Host", a 10-metre sculpture by Daniel Popper made with Balinese artisans from Ubud, and its restaurant is Manuza. Open daily: Zumana Sunday, Monday and Tuesday every week, headliners on Wednesdays and Fridays, Ritual of the Sun on Saturdays. 21+, smart casual.

Desa Kitsuné

Desa Kitsuné

Clubs · Canggu

Desa Kitsuné is a lifestyle village in the heart of Canggu — desa means village — set in a 5,000 m² garden by the Savaya Group with the French-Japanese brand Maison Kitsuné. Café Kitsuné, the Ina Ré restaurant and a Maison Kitsuné boutique share the grounds, and every Tuesday and Friday the Garden becomes the party, rain or shine: guest DJs on Tuesdays, Bali-based DJs on Fridays. Parties are 21+, smart casual.

Oct 23 · DESA KITSUNE FRIDAY Oct 27 · HALLOWEEN SOIREE - LES CL…

All three are 21+ with a valid photo ID, a passport or a driver's licence, and all three state that mixed groups and couples are strongly preferred. On guestlist nights, entry is complimentary before the cutoff shown on the night's page and reduced after; at Desa Kitsuné the cutoff is earlier for men than for women.

Seminyak, beach clubs and dinner

  • Les Toilettes: "Smart casual attire is required. Sandals, flip-flops, athletic wear, and swimwear are not allowed." Sandals are named, so pick closed shoes or check before.
  • Miss Fish (Berawa): sandals, Crocs, shorts, singlets, hoodies and flip-flops are not permitted.
  • El Kabron (Uluwatu): beachwear is welcome in the Hedonism Lounge; the restaurant and Sunset Theater need smart casual, resort wear or elegant attire, without swimwear. Anywhere on site it refuses excessively revealing clothing, wedding dresses, athletic wear, branded matching outfits and themed costumes.
  • White Rock (Melasti): appropriate swimsuits and beachwear at the pools; no swimsuits, towels or wet clothing in the restaurant, with changing rooms and lockers on site.
  • Finns (Berawa): no face and head tattoos, no alcohol- or sports-branded gear, no matching group outfits.
Les Toilettes

Les Toilettes

Clubs · Seminyak

Les Toilettes is the K-Club Group's nightclub on Jalan Petitenget in Seminyak, at the same address as Sardine, the group's seafood restaurant, so dinner and a late night can happen in one place. Now in its 2.0 version, the club draws on club concepts from around the world. Entry is for guests aged 21 and over, at the door's discretion, and the dress code is smart: no flip-flops, sandals or sportswear.

Miss Fish

Miss Fish

Restaurants · Berawa

Miss Fish is a Japanese restaurant and late-night venue on Jalan Raya Semat in Berawa, Canggu, open since 2022. Executive Chef Carlos Barvo leads a seasonal omakase that pairs Japanese technique with European and Latin American influences. Guests choose between the Omakase Bar, a chef-guided onyx counter, the open-air Patio and the Lounge for cocktails and shared plates, and the bar holds more than 40 sakes and Japanese whiskies. Later in the evening, DJs take over. Dress code: smart casual.

El Kabron

El Kabron

Beach clubs · Uluwatu

El Kabron stands on the limestone cliffs of Pecatu in Uluwatu, above the Indian Ocean, and has been open since 2011. It has three parts: the Hedonism Lounge, an adults-only infinity-pool area with daybeds and sofas; the Sunset Theater at the cliff edge, set up for sunset dinners; and a Mediterranean restaurant serving seafood, oysters, paella and steak. Its sunset parties bring DJs with live saxophone, violin and trumpet, with the White Sunset Party, the Afro House Sunset Party and pool parties among the weekly regulars.

White Rock Beach Club

White Rock Beach Club

Beach clubs · Uluwatu

White Rock Beach Club sits on Melasti Beach in Ungasan, near Uluwatu, at the end of the cliff. Guests settle on daybeds, sofas or cabanas around a lagoon pool and a rock pool; families have a kids' pool and a kids' menu. There is a spa, a large covered restaurant serving local and international dishes, and enclosed, air-conditioned party suites overlooking the pool and the ocean. Resident DJs play every day, and foam parties run at weekends. The club also hosts weddings and events.

Our advice: one outfit for the whole day

None of this is a venue rule; it is how to stay inside every rule above.

  1. A dress, a skirt or tailored trousers that are not denim and not cut-off. Linen and cotton suit the heat.
  2. A top without a logo, and nothing branded with a drink.
  3. Shoes: closed shoes that are neither boots, nor hard-soled, nor gym trainers pass every list here. Sandals pass some doors and not others (Les Toilettes and Miss Fish name them), so if you prefer them, ask before.
  4. Swimwear in the bag for a beach club or a pool, and arrive dressed: change before dinner or the club. White Rock and El Kabron both keep swimwear out of their restaurants.
  5. Hen parties and girls' trips: matching T-shirts and costumes are named by El Kabron and Finns. A shared colour works better than a printed slogan. See our hen party guide and girls' trip guide.
  6. A small bag: Savaya searches bags and has limited lockers, and it is cashless.

The door decides

Every venue keeps the right to refuse entry, and neither a guestlist registration nor a table overrides the door. Bring the original ID rather than a photo of it. For a night out that ends safely, read our night-out safety guide; for the men's version of these rules, what to wear to Bali clubs for men.

Where FirstBali fits

Tell the concierge where you are going and when. FirstBali sends you the link to the night's guestlist page, books tables with the venue on your behalf, and asks the venue about its door when its rules are not published. A table is yours once the venue confirms it. Our assistant replies at any hour; the team picks up through the Bali day and evening.

Questions we get asked

+Is there a separate dress code for women in Bali clubs?

Not in any rules we read. Savaya, Zumana, Desa Kitsuné, Les Toilettes and the beach clubs publish one smart casual code for everyone.

+Can I wear a denim skirt or jeans?

Not at Savaya or Zumana, which both refuse work jeans or denim. Desa Kitsuné does not name denim.

+Are sandals allowed?

Les Toilettes and Miss Fish name sandals as not allowed; Zumana, Desa Kitsuné and Les Toilettes refuse flip-flops. Closed shoes are the pair that passes everywhere.

+Can I wear boots to Desa Kitsuné?

No. Desa Kitsuné lists boots and hard-sole shoes among the items not permitted.

+Can I go from the pool to dinner in swimwear?

No. Savaya and Zumana keep swimwear to the pools, and El Kabron and White Rock keep it out of their restaurants. Bring a change.

+Do hen parties get in with matching outfits?

El Kabron refuses branded matching outfits and themed costumes, and Finns asks for no matching group outfits. A shared colour without slogans is the safer idea.

Want us to arrange it?
