Girls trip to Bali: villa, beach clubs, dinners, nights out

A girls trip to Bali is a villa for the group, a beach club day, dinners that turn into a party, one club night and a private boat, linked by drivers. Clubs are 21+, with ID and dress codes.

A girls trip to Bali works best as a few booked pieces: a villa for the group, a day at an adults-only beach club, a long dinner that turns into a party, one big club night and a private boat, with a driver between each. The clubs are 21+ and some check ID at the door; at night, the dress code is smart casual. Here is how to put the week together.

A villa as the base

One house for everyone keeps the trip together: breakfast by the pool, getting ready in one place, one pick-up for the whole group. Before choosing, count beds rather than bedrooms, and read the house rules on visitors and music. Browse our villas, and see the group villa guide for what to ask the owner.

The beach club day

For a group of friends, the beach club is the long afternoon of the trip. Reserve a daybed, a sofa or a cabana rather than arriving on the off chance: the seat is what you are booking.

  • Finns Beach Club, Berawa: adults-only — sixteen and over, by its own terms — with pools, swim-up bars and private cabanas. Its team offers to help plan group celebrations, from the set-up to the special touches.
  • Atlas Beach Club, Berawa: beanbags on the sand, a vast pool and DJs through the day, with a group booking service for celebrations.
  • White Rock Beach Club, Melasti: enclosed, air-conditioned party suites overlooking the pool and the ocean, and a spa on site for the morning after.
  • El Kabron, Uluwatu: the Hedonism Lounge is an adults-only infinity-pool area on the cliffs, with sunset parties and live musicians alongside the DJs.
Finns Beach Club

Finns Beach Club

Beach clubs · Berawa

FINNS Beach Club stretches along the beachfront at Berawa, in Canggu, under a bamboo structure designed by PBM Architecture. It is adults-only and divided into several party zones, from FINNS Beach Party and FINNS Garden Party to FINNS Grey Goose Party and FINNS VIP Party, with pools, swim-up bars, private cabanas, dance floors and restaurants spread across the site. Resident DJs and live singers keep an all-day party going every day, and the club also hosts private events, birthdays and corporate groups.

Atlas Beach Club

Atlas Beach Club

Beach clubs · Berawa

Atlas Beach Club sits on Berawa Beach and bills itself as the biggest beach club in the world. Its signature beanbags sit right on the sand facing the sea, beside a vast pool and a pool bar where DJs play through the day. Daybeds and sofas are spread across distinct zones, from The Deck restaurant overlooking the beach to the Party Side in front of the stage. Daily shows draw on the four elements, and a beachfront padel court and a 100-metre flying fox complete the site.

White Rock Beach Club

White Rock Beach Club

Beach clubs · Uluwatu

White Rock Beach Club sits on Melasti Beach in Ungasan, near Uluwatu, at the end of the cliff. Guests settle on daybeds, sofas or cabanas around a lagoon pool and a rock pool; families have a kids' pool and a kids' menu. There is a spa, a large covered restaurant serving local and international dishes, and enclosed, air-conditioned party suites overlooking the pool and the ocean. Resident DJs play every day, and foam parties run at weekends. The club also hosts weddings and events.

El Kabron

El Kabron

Beach clubs · Uluwatu

El Kabron stands on the limestone cliffs of Pecatu in Uluwatu, above the Indian Ocean, and has been open since 2011. It has three parts: the Hedonism Lounge, an adults-only infinity-pool area with daybeds and sofas; the Sunset Theater at the cliff edge, set up for sunset dinners; and a Mediterranean restaurant serving seafood, oysters, paella and steak. Its sunset parties bring DJs with live saxophone, violin and trumpet, with the White Sunset Party, the Afro House Sunset Party and pool parties among the weekly regulars.

Dinners that turn into a party

The best group dinners in Bali do not end with dessert. Several restaurants in Berawa and Canggu change mood after dark:

  • BELLA: a wood-fired menu made for sharing, a DJ booth, and weekly Taverna nights and Kitchen Party.
  • MOI: Aegean cooking, and Bazaar MOI, an Eastern Mediterranean dinner spectacle with dancers and costumes.
  • Giselle: crudos, seafood and homemade pasta, then Club 55 takes over after dinner on Friday and Saturday nights.
  • Miss Fish: omakase at the counter or shared plates in the Lounge, then DJs later in the evening. Smart casual.
  • Zai Cafe lists a Ladies Ritual on its programme — in its own words, "a dinner dedicated to all ladies". Ask the concierge which night it runs.
BELLA

BELLA

Restaurants · Berawa

BELLA is a contemporary Mediterranean and Middle Eastern restaurant on Jalan Pantai Berawa, run by The SEN Group. Executive chef Oğuz Karadoğan, formerly of Lokanta 1741 in Istanbul, cooks a wood-fired menu made for sharing: lamb meatballs in rich tomato sauce with Hokkaido bread, a Mediterranean ceviche of seabass, kefir and gremolata, a whole roasted cauliflower with tahini. The room is built around an open kitchen, a long bar and a DJ booth, and the evening turns into a party, with weekly Taverna nights and Kitchen Party.

Moi

Moi

Restaurants · Berawa

MOI Canggu is a Mediterranean restaurant on Jalan Pantai Berawa, inspired by the Aegean and by Bodrum, home of its sister address MOI Bodrum. The kitchen works with fire and Mediterranean flavours, for dinners meant to be lingered over, and the cocktails draw on sun-warmed botanicals. After sunset the mood shifts and the evening turns into a party. Themed nights include Monday Society and Bazaar MOI, an Eastern Mediterranean dinner spectacle with dancers and costumes.

Giselle

Giselle

Restaurants · Canggu

Giselle is a Mediterranean restaurant on Jalan Tanah Barak in Canggu, created by a group of friends with deep roots in hospitality, who call it “a house for friends, strangers, and stories”. The mood is the Riviera brought to Bali, across a dining room and a courtyard. Seafood leads the menu, with crudos, a seafood platter, sea bream sashimi and flambéed fish, alongside homemade pasta and plates for sharing, built on local, responsibly sourced ingredients. On Friday and Saturday nights, Club 55 takes over after dinner.

Zai Cafe

Zai Cafe

Restaurants · Canggu

Zai Cafe is a modern Mediterranean and Middle Eastern restaurant on Jalan Pantai Batu Bolong in Canggu, serving from breakfast through dinner. Mornings bring flatbreads, a Greek salad with homemade feta, bowls and dips such as hummus, beetroot hummus, babaganoush and tzatziki. In the evening the menu turns to dishes like octopus with harissa and orzo, or grilled prawns with a sweet passion fruit sauce. Ceremonial matcha goes into drinks and desserts, and on Fridays a DJ sets the mood.

One big night out

Choose one night for a club and plan the rest of the trip around it.

  • Savaya, on the Uluwatu cliffs: international headliners at weekends and Last Light on Mondays. Strictly 21+, smart casual.
  • Zumana, at Sunset Bay in Kuta: beachfront daybeds and an open-air dance floor. 21+, smart casual.
  • Desa Kitsuné, in Canggu: the Garden becomes the party every Tuesday and Friday. 21+, smart casual.

All three have guestlists — the venues' own lists, joined free from the night's event page. A guestlist is never a guaranteed entry; a table is the only reserved space.

In Seminyak, Les Toilettes and MU:IN are clubs in the plain sense, both 21+. How the lists work is in the guestlist guide.

A day on the water

A private boat gives the group a day with no one else on deck. Among the trips FirstBali arranges, the private yacht sunset and party cruise suits friends who want music on board, and Manta rays, Nusa Penida is half a day of snorkelling where they pass. Keep a spare day in the plan in case the sea does not cooperate. All eight trips are in the boat party guide.

Dress codes, door by door

  • Les Toilettes: smart casual; no sandals, flip-flops, athletic wear or swimwear.
  • Savaya, Zumana, Desa Kitsuné and Miss Fish: smart casual.
  • El Kabron: beachwear is fine around the Hedonism Lounge pool; no swimwear in the restaurant or the Sunset Theater, and themed costumes are not allowed anywhere in the venue.
  • White Rock: swimwear at the pools, but arrive dry and dressed at the restaurant.

Pack one pair of shoes that are not sandals: it opens most doors. More in the club dress code guide.

Age and ID

Les Toilettes admits guests aged 21 and over, with a government-issued photo ID or a passport shown at entry. MU:IN, Savaya and Zumana are 21+ too, and so are Desa Kitsuné's parties. If one friend is under 21, plan the club night differently: the age limit guide explains which doors stay open.

Drivers between every leg

A group of friends fits in one vehicle with a driver: the Toyota Hiace Premio for a large group, the Toyota Alphard for a smaller one. Book the ride home with the table, not at the end of the night. See private drivers in Bali.

How FirstBali arranges it

Tell the concierge your dates, how many of you are coming, where you are staying and the moods you want — beach club, dinner, club, boat. We ask each venue on your behalf; a table, a villa or a boat is yours once the venue or the owner confirms it, and any minimum spend comes from the venue before you decide. An assistant replies at any hour, and the team follows up during its working hours.

Celebrating something? There is a guide for a hens party and one for a birthday party.

Questions we get asked

+Is Bali good for a girls trip?

Yes, if it is planned as a few booked pieces: a villa for the group, a beach club day, dinners that turn into a party, one club night and a private boat, with drivers between them. FirstBali arranges each piece through the concierge.

+What is the best beach club in Bali for a group of girls?

Finns and Atlas in Berawa both take group celebrations, White Rock in Melasti has enclosed, air-conditioned party suites, and El Kabron's Hedonism Lounge is an adults-only pool on the Uluwatu cliffs. Reserve the seat ahead.

+What should I wear to clubs in Bali?

Smart casual. Les Toilettes refuses sandals, flip-flops, athletic wear and swimwear, and El Kabron allows no swimwear in its restaurant or Sunset Theater and no themed costumes anywhere.

+Do I need ID to get into clubs in Bali?

Bring it. Les Toilettes asks for a government-issued photo ID or a passport at entry and admits guests aged 21 and over; MU:IN, Savaya and Zumana are 21+ as well.

+Can FirstBali put our group on the Savaya guestlist?

The guestlists at Savaya, Zumana and Desa Kitsuné are the venues' own: each guest registers free from the night's event page, and entry is never guaranteed. FirstBali sends the link and can book a table, the only reserved space.

+How do we get around Bali as a group of friends?

With a vehicle and driver: a Toyota Hiace Premio for a large group or a Toyota Alphard for a smaller one. Book the ride home with the table.
