Jimbaran dinner: Rock Bar sunset and where to eat nearby

A Jimbaran evening built around Rock Bar at AYANA: sunset over the sea, tapas from Jimbaran Bay seafood, then dinner in Nusa Dua or Pecatu, or a night at Savaya. How to plan and book it.

Updated October 21, 2026 · 3 min read

The classic Jimbaran evening through FirstBali starts at Rock Bar, AYANA Bali's cliffside bar, where you watch the sun go down over the sea with cocktails and Mediterranean tapas built on Jimbaran Bay seafood. Visitors who are not hotel guests can reserve dinner tables after sunset. For a longer dinner, the nearest addresses in our catalogue are in Nusa Dua and on the Pecatu cliffs, and Savaya is there for the rest of the night.

Rock Bar: sunset and tapas

Rock Bar stretches along the rocks just above the ocean, and you reach it by inclinator. The bar pours cocktails inspired by the colours of the sea, the kitchen serves tapas from the bay's seafood, and the DJs play on after dark. AYANA's rules shape the evening:

  • Visitors can reserve dinner tables, sofas, tapas tables, counter tops and day beds. A minimum spend applies to visitors; AYANA sets it, and FirstBali passes on what the venue confirms.
  • Hotel guests come first. The Round Deck is kept for villa guests and the Top Bar for hotel guests, and hotel guests get priority for sunset reservations — so ask early for a sunset seat.
  • Smart attire. No tank tops, no surf shorts, no clothing with alcohol-brand logos.
  • No large bags. Travel light.
  • Card or QR only. No cash.

If the sunset is taken, a dinner table after dark is the next best thing. The full detail is in the Rock Bar guide.

Dinner after the sunset

You can stay at Rock Bar for the dinner menu, or move on. Two directions:

East, to Nusa Dua

  • The Apurva Kempinski, a five-star resort on the Nusa Dua cliffs. Koral, which the hotel presents as Bali's first aquarium restaurant, serves set and tasting menus beside the tanks, adults only at dinner; Izakaya by OKU, Bai Yun for hot pot and dim sum, and L'Atelier by Cyril Kongo for Mediterranean tapas with ocean views complete the list. See the Apurva Kempinski dining guide.
  • Le Bleu by K Club, on Nusa Dua Beach, all blue and white, with a seafood-led kitchen — lobster linguine, yellowfin tuna tataki — and vegetarian and vegan options. More in the Le Bleu guide.

For the area as a whole, read the Nusa Dua guide.

South, to the Pecatu cliffs

  • El Kabron, on the limestone cliffs of Pecatu, with its Sunset Theater at the cliff edge and a Mediterranean restaurant serving seafood, oysters, paella and steak. See the El Kabron guide.

Then Savaya

Savaya sits on the clifftop in Pecatu, Uluwatu, between jungle and limestone cliffs, with The Cube framing the horizon. DJ Mag's Top 100 Clubs named it number one in Asia from 2024 to 2026 and fifth in the world in 2026. A Jimbaran sunset followed by a night at Savaya keeps the whole evening in the south of the island.

Savaya is strictly 21+ with a valid photo ID, cashless, with bags searched and no luggage. Each night has its own terms, shown on the night's page: some nights have a guestlist on the venue's own page, some are ticketed only, and a table is the only reserved space. Registering does not guarantee complimentary entry; the venue decides at the door. See the Savaya guide.

Three ways to build the evening

  1. Sunset and dinner in one place: Rock Bar for the sunset, then a dinner table there after dark.
  2. Sunset, then a resort dinner: Rock Bar, then Koral or Izakaya by OKU at The Apurva Kempinski, or Le Bleu on the beach.
  3. Sunset, dinner, club: Rock Bar, dinner at El Kabron, then Savaya.

Whatever the plan, book a driver for the whole evening through the transport page: the car waits, and nobody drives after a drink.

How to book

Send the concierge your date, how many you are, the plan you like and a second choice. FirstBali asks each venue; every table is yours once that venue has confirmed it, and any deposit follows the venue's terms. An assistant answers at any hour, the team through the Bali day and evening.

Yes. Visitors can reserve dinner tables, sofas, tapas tables, counter tops and day beds; the Round Deck and the Top Bar are kept for hotel and villa guests.

+Can I pay cash at Rock Bar?

No. Rock Bar accepts credit cards, debit cards and QR payment only.
