Uluwatu villa rental: what a clifftop stay offers
Renting a villa in Uluwatu: clifftops, big surf and sunsets, Savaya and the Bukit's beach clubs nearby, and how FirstBali finds a villa for your dates without guessing.
Updated October 21, 2026 · 4 min read

A villa in Uluwatu is for travellers who want clifftops, big surf and the island's most cinematic sunsets on their doorstep, with Savaya and the Bukit's cliff-edge beach clubs close by. FirstBali lists Uluwatu villas on the villas page with rates on request: tell the concierge your dates and group, and the team comes back with what the owner confirms.
What Uluwatu is like for a villa stay
Uluwatu sits on the Bukit peninsula, the limestone headland at the southern tip of Bali. The coast is cliffs rather than long beaches, with coves below and the Indian Ocean in front. That shapes a villa stay here in three ways:
- Views and sunsets. The west-facing cliffs are where the island's sunsets are watched; many evenings begin with them.
- Surf. Uluwatu is a surf destination first, and mornings follow the swell.
- Space. Life is more spread out than in Canggu or Seminyak: you choose a base, then go out to the evening rather than walking into it.
That last point is worth taking seriously. In Uluwatu, plan how you will move around each evening; FirstBali can arrange a car with a driver so nobody in the group has to.
Who an Uluwatu villa suits
- Couples on a honeymoon or an anniversary, for whom the view is the point.
- Groups coming for Savaya: staying on the Bukit keeps the club, the beach clubs and the sunsets in the same part of the island.
- Surfers who want the breaks close to the bed.
- Families who want calm days, with White Rock Beach Club's kids' pool and kids' menu nearby.
If the plan is mostly cafés, shops and walking to dinner, Canggu or Seminyak may suit you better; our where to stay guide compares the areas, and the Canggu villa guide covers the other side of the island.
Nights out near an Uluwatu villa
Savaya is the reason many guests choose the Bukit. It is a clifftop club in Pecatu, set high above the Indian Ocean between jungle and limestone cliffs, with pools and The Cube framing the horizon. DJ Mag's Top 100 Clubs named it the number-one club in Asia from 2024 to 2026 and fifth in the world in 2026. It is open daily: Last Light every Monday, with a sunset set from The Cube, weekday nights, international headliners at weekends, and People of the Sun on Sundays. Savaya is strictly 21+ with photo ID, cashless, and re-entry is only with a table.

Each night has its own page with its own terms: some open the venue's guestlist, where each guest registers individually, some are ticketed only. A table is booked through FirstBali with the venue and is yours once the venue confirms it. More in our Savaya guide.

El Kabron stands on the limestone cliffs of Pecatu in Uluwatu, above the Indian Ocean, and has been open since 2011. It has three parts: the Hedonism Lounge, an adults-only infinity-pool area with daybeds and sofas; the Sunset Theater at the cliff edge, set up for sunset dinners; and a Mediterranean restaurant serving seafood, oysters, paella and steak. Its sunset parties bring DJs with live saxophone, violin and trumpet, with the White Sunset Party, the Afro House Sunset Party and pool parties among the weekly regulars.

Resident DJs play every day, and foam parties run at weekends. The club also hosts weddings and events.

Non-resident visitors can reserve; the Round Deck is kept for villa guests and the Top Bar for hotel guests. Payment by card or QR only.

What to ask before you choose
The questions that decide a stay apply everywhere in Bali, but some matter more on the cliffs:
- How the villa is reached, and what the road is like in the evening.
- What the view really faces, and whether the pool keeps the sun.
- Bed layout rather than bedroom count, for a group of adults.
- Staff on site, and what is included.
Our villa rental guide lists the full set of checks, and staffed villas explains who does what.
How FirstBali books an Uluwatu villa
Send your dates, the number of guests and what matters most to the concierge. An assistant answers at any hour and the team follows up through the Bali day and evening. The rate is given on request for your dates, never estimated in advance, and the booking is confirmed only once the owner has confirmed it; any deposit follows the agreed terms and is not a confirmation. If you also want a private chef or a table for the night you arrive, say so in the same message: the concierge checks what can be arranged.
