Zumana table booking: how a VIP table works

A Zumana table is a daybed, sofa or cabana reserved for one night, with a minimum spend Zumana sets per night as food and drink credit. It allows re-entry; FirstBali books it with the venue.

A table at Zumana is the only reserved space in the club — a daybed, a sofa or a cabana that is yours for one specific night — and it carries a minimum spend that Zumana sets for that night. Each night's Table button opens the venue's own table map when one is published. FirstBali books the table with Zumana, and it is yours once Zumana confirms it. The guestlist, by contrast, is free standing entry.

Table or guestlist

They are two different things, and the choice comes down to how you want to spend the night.

The guestlist is Zumana's own list, joined from the night's page. Each person registers individually and receives a digital ticket by email. Joining costs nothing; it gives complimentary entry before the night's cutoff and reduced entry after it, and it puts you on your feet with everyone else. Some nights are ticketed only and have no list at all. The Zumana guestlist has the detail.

A table gives you three things the guestlist does not:

  • A reserved place — a daybed, a sofa or a cabana, depending on the night's map.
  • An option on the nights without a list. On ticketed-only nights there is no guestlist to join, and FirstBali's event page shows only the Table button.
  • The right to step out and come back. In Zumana's words: "Re-entry is not permitted at Zumana Bali unless a table reservation has been purchased."

Zumana's own ticketing FAQ is frank about the alternative: tickets "are primarily for standing room only as there is limited general admission seating, which is based on first come first serve."

The night's table map

Every night on the calendar above has a Table button. When Zumana has published a table map for that night, the button opens it: a page from the venue group itself, titled with the date and the name of the night, with a venue map and the list of spaces.

On the maps we have read, the spaces are named after where they sit:

  • Ocean Edge daybeds and sofas;
  • Dance Floor daybeds and sofas;
  • Main Deck sofas;
  • Cabanas;
  • and a few spaces such as Grotto VIP and Back Stage, some marked "price available on request".

Three details on those pages matter more than the layout:

  • The map is per night. A Saturday's map and a Friday's map are separate pages, and the terms of one say nothing about the other.
  • Spaces sell out. On a headliner night, individual sofas and cabanas are marked "SOLD OUT" as they go.
  • A specific spot can cost more. Several categories carry a note that guaranteeing a specific daybed, sofa or cabana means an additional charge, set by Zumana.

When a night has no published map — as on some of the regular days — ask the concierge: FirstBali asks Zumana what is available for your date.

The minimum spend

Each space carries a minimum spend, and the maps say it "includes food & beverage credit": it is what your table commits to spend on food and drink, not an entrance charge on top. Zumana sets it for each space and each night, so one night's figure says nothing about another's. FirstBali does not quote figures: the amount is on the night's map when one is published, or confirmed by Zumana through the concierge before you commit.

Two practical points. The minimum belongs to the table, not to each guest. And Zumana takes card and QRIS payments only, with no cash, so settle between yourselves who pays before the night rather than at the end of it.

How FirstBali books your table

  1. Pick the night from the calendar, and look at its table map if there is one.
  2. Tell [the concierge](/concierge) the date, how many you are, the area you would like — ocean edge, dance floor, a cabana — and the occasion, if there is one.
  3. FirstBali asks Zumana for that space on that night and comes back with what the venue confirms: the space and its terms.
  4. You decide. Nothing is booked until you say yes.
  5. The table is yours once Zumana confirms it — not when you send the request, and never before the venue has said so.

An assistant answers at any hour and passes your request on; the team handles it with the venue during its working hours, Bali time. For a headliner or a busy weekend, start as soon as the night is announced, and in high season book as early as you can.

On the night

  • Everyone at the table needs ID. Zumana is strictly 21+ and accepts a valid passport or driver's licence.
  • Dress for it. Smart casual, "upscale beach chic", no flip-flops, swimwear in the pools only — see the Zumana dress code.
  • Before you step out, see a guest experience officer, as the re-entry policy asks.
  • Going on somewhere? Arrange the car with the table: how to get to Zumana explains why the way home comes first.

How tables work across the island — deposits, timing, groups — is in how table booking works in Bali. Celebrating? A birthday at Zumana starts with a table, and Ritual of the Sun is the Saturday to book one for the sunset.

Questions we get asked

+How do I book a table at Zumana?

Choose the night on FirstBali's events page and send the concierge the date, your group size and the area you would like. FirstBali asks Zumana and comes back with what the venue confirms; the table is yours once Zumana confirms it.

+What is the minimum spend for a table at Zumana?

Zumana sets it for each space and each night, as food and beverage credit rather than an entrance charge. It is shown on the night's table map when one is published, or confirmed by Zumana through the concierge; FirstBali does not quote figures.

+What kinds of tables are there at Zumana?

The venue's table maps list daybeds and sofas named after where they sit — Ocean Edge, Dance Floor, Main Deck — plus cabanas and a few spaces such as Grotto VIP and Back Stage. What is offered, and what is sold out, changes night by night.

+Can I leave Zumana and come back with a table?

Yes. Re-entry is not permitted at Zumana unless a table reservation has been purchased; with a table, see a guest experience officer before leaving.

+Can I book a table at Zumana on a ticketed-only night?

On ticketed-only nights there is no guestlist, and FirstBali's event page shows only the Table button. Ask the concierge for the date: FirstBali asks Zumana what is available.

+Is my Zumana table confirmed when I send the request?

No. A table is yours only once Zumana has confirmed it. FirstBali passes on the venue's answer and its terms, and nothing is booked until you agree.
