El Kabron stands on the limestone cliffs of Pecatu in Uluwatu, with an adults-only infinity-pool lounge, a Sunset Theater at the cliff edge and a Mediterranean restaurant. El Kabron stands on the limestone cliffs of Pecatu in Uluwatu, above the Indian Ocean, and has been open since 2011. It has three parts: the Hedonism Lounge, an adults-only infinity-pool area with daybeds and sofas; the Sunset Theater at the cliff edge, set up for sunset dinners; and a Mediterranean restaurant serving seafood, oysters, paella and steak. Its sunset parties bring DJs with live saxophone, violin and trumpet, with the White Sunset Party, the Afro House Sunset Party and pool parties among the weekly regulars.

The setting

Zumana is built on the beach in Kuta. Its centrepiece is ZENÍA, "The Eternal Host", a sculpture by Daniel Popper made with Balinese artisans from Ubud, and its restaurant is Manuza. Daybeds face the sea, and the open-air dance floor carries the day into the evening. More in the ZENÍA guide.

El Kabron has three parts on the Pecatu cliffs: the Hedonism Lounge, an adults-only infinity-pool area with daybeds and sofas; the Sunset Theater at the cliff edge; and a Mediterranean restaurant serving seafood, oysters, paella and steak.

The week at each

Zumana is open daily with a programme of its own: Zumana Sunday, Monday and Tuesday every week, headliners on Wednesdays and Fridays, and Ritual of the Sun on Saturdays, with a weeknight rotation that includes "Made in Kuta". Zumana's weekly nights walks through them.

El Kabron builds its week around sunset parties, with the White Sunset Party, the Afro House Sunset Party and pool parties among its weekly regulars.

Getting in

Zumana is 21+ with a valid photo ID, passport or driver's licence, smart casual. Many nights have a guestlist run by the venue: each guest registers on the night's page, joining is free, and entry is complimentary before the cutoff shown there, reduced after. Registration does not guarantee complimentary entry, and mixed groups and couples are strongly preferred. Some nights are ticketed only; official tickets come only through the venue's own channel. El Kabron's Hedonism Lounge is adults-only. For the rest, the concierge checks its terms for your date.

Reserved space

At Zumana, a table is the only reserved space. The venue sets its minimum spend per night and its table map notes that it includes food and beverage credit; the flyer's Table button on the events page opens the night's map, and FirstBali books with the venue. The table is yours once the venue confirms it; any deposit follows the venue's terms and is not a confirmation.

At El Kabron, the choice is between a daybed or sofa in the Hedonism Lounge and a table in the Sunset Theater or the restaurant. The venue confirms availability and its terms.

Food

Zumana has Manuza, its restaurant, on site; dinner before Zumana covers how to fit it into the night. El Kabron's Mediterranean menu — seafood, oysters, paella, steak — is a reason to come in itself, and the Sunset Theater puts the table at the cliff edge.
