Afro house in Bali: how to find the right night

Afro house in Bali is a night, not a venue: Savaya's listings name it, El Kabron runs a weekly Afro House Sunset Party with live musicians. How to spot it on the calendar and get in.

Updated October 23, 2026 · 4 min read

There is no Afro house club in Bali; there are Afro house nights. Savaya, on the Uluwatu cliffs, names Afro house among the sounds of its guests, and El Kabron, on the same cliffs, runs an Afro House Sunset Party among its weekly regulars, with live musicians on top of the DJ. Zumana in Kuta and Desa Kitsuné in Canggu follow the artist of each night, so the genre depends on the date you pick.

Why the genre lives on the night, not the venue

Bali's big venues book a different artist almost every night, and the sound follows the artist. A club that hosts a melodic techno headliner on Saturday may welcome an Afro house selector the following week. That is why a list of "Afro house clubs" would mislead you: the honest way to find the sound is to read the calendar date by date.

If you want the wider picture of what each venue plays, what music Bali clubs play covers it venue by venue.

How to spot an Afro house night

  1. Open [the events calendar](/events). Each night names its artist or its concept.
  2. Look at the artist, not the venue. A recent set by that artist tells you more than any genre label on a flyer.
  3. Read the night's terms on the same page. Some nights have a guestlist, some are ticketed only, and terms change from night to night.
  4. Ask if in doubt. Tell the concierge the sound you like and the dates you are on the island; FirstBali points you to the nights that fit.

Savaya: Afro house among the shades of its cliff

Savaya sits 100 metres above the Indian Ocean in Pecatu. DJ Mag's Top 100 Clubs named it the number-one club in Asia three years running (2024–2026) and fifth in the world in 2026. Its own listings describe its guests in the language of melodic house and techno and Afro house, and weekends mostly bring international headliners.

The format of the night matters as much as the genre. Last Light on Mondays is a sunset set from The Cube; Sundays are People of the Sun; weekend headliners are often ticketed only, and Savaya says its tickets are primarily for standing room. Savaya at sunset or at night helps you choose the mood.

El Kabron: the Afro House Sunset Party

El Kabron stands on the limestone cliffs of Pecatu, above the Indian Ocean. Its sunset parties bring DJs with live saxophone, violin and trumpet, and the Afro House Sunset Party is one of its weekly regulars, alongside the White Sunset Party and pool parties. The Sunset Theater at the cliff edge is set up for sunset dinners, and the Hedonism Lounge is an adults-only infinity-pool area with daybeds.

It is the most direct answer to "where is Afro house tonight": a recurring party with the genre in its name. Pair it with Savaya on the same cliffs for a longer evening.

Zumana and Desa Kitsuné: follow the line-up

Zumana, Savaya Group's beach club at Sunset Bay in Kuta, is built around an open-air dance floor beside beachfront daybeds and pools. Wednesdays and Fridays bring headliners, Saturday is Ritual of the Sun, and Thursday rotates, including Made in Kuta. Whether a given night leans Afro depends on who plays: check the night's page.

Desa Kitsuné, in Canggu, turns its garden into the party every Tuesday and Friday, rain or shine: guest DJs on Tuesdays, Bali-based DJs on Fridays. It is the more intimate setting, and the place to hear what the island's own selectors are playing.

Before you go

  • Age: Savaya, Zumana and Desa Kitsuné are 21+ with a valid photo ID (passport or driver's licence).
  • Guestlist: free to join, one registration per person and per night on the night's page, never a guarantee of entry; free entry runs until the cutoff shown there. Mixed groups and couples are strongly preferred.
  • Tables: a table is the only reserved space; the venue sets its minimum spend for each night and the table is yours once the venue confirms it.
  • Dress: smart casual; see the Bali club dress code.
  • Getting there: Uluwatu, Kuta and Canggu are spread out; a car with driver keeps the evening simple.

Pick the night and tell the concierge: FirstBali sends you the night's guestlist link, or books a table with the venue, which confirms it. An assistant answers at any hour, and the team through the Bali day and evening.

Questions we get asked

+Where can I hear Afro house in Bali?

El Kabron runs a weekly Afro House Sunset Party on the Pecatu cliffs, and Savaya's listings name Afro house among its sounds. At Zumana and Desa Kitsuné, it depends on each night's artist.

+Is there an Afro house club in Bali?

Not as such: the genre follows the artist booked for each night. Read the calendar date by date rather than looking for a dedicated club.

+Are there live musicians at Afro house nights?

At El Kabron, yes: its sunset parties bring DJs with live saxophone, violin and trumpet.

+Can I get on a guestlist for an Afro house night?

When the night has a list, you register yourself on the night's page, free of charge. Some nights are ticketed only, and a list never guarantees entry.

+What is the age limit?

Savaya, Zumana and Desa Kitsuné are 21+ with a valid photo ID, such as a passport or driver's licence.

+Can FirstBali book a table for an Afro house night?

Yes: tell the concierge the night and your group, and FirstBali books with the venue. The table is yours once the venue confirms it.
