What music do Bali clubs play? Genres by venue

Bali's big nights are mostly electronic: Savaya speaks of melodic house, techno and Afro house, and the sound follows each night's artist. Beach clubs lean on resident DJs and live musicians.

Most of Bali's headline club nights are electronic. Savaya, on the Uluwatu cliffs, calls itself "one of the world's leading destinations for electronic music", and its own listings speak of melodic house and techno and Afro house. Beyond that, few venues commit to a single genre: the sound follows the night's artist, and beach clubs build their days around resident DJs, live singers and musicians. The reliable way to know what you will hear is to read the night's page.

Why "it depends on the night" is the honest answer

Bali's big venues book a different artist from one night to the next, so a venue's genre is really a range. This guide sticks to how the venues describe themselves and does not guess beyond it. If a venue names no genre, we say so.

Savaya: electronic music, in many shades

Savaya, the clifftop club in Pecatu, names electronic music as its identity. Its listings describe guests in the language of melodic house and techno, Afro house and progressive sounds, and weekends mostly bring international headliners. DJ Mag's Top 100 Clubs has named it the number-one club in Asia three years running (2024–2026) and fifth in the world in 2026.

The format changes the feel as much as the genre does. Last Light, every Monday, is a sunset event from The Cube; some Sundays are billed "People of the Sun (Sunset Set)", with DJs building through the day to the main act. To choose between those, see Savaya at sunset or at night.

Zumana: from sunset into night

Zumana, Savaya Group's beach club at Sunset Bay in Kuta, describes "a musical identity built around international programming and the natural transition from sunset into night." Headliners play on Wednesdays and Fridays, Saturday is Ritual of the Sun, and the weeknight rotation includes Made in Kuta, which brings together local talent, music, food and culture. The venue names no single genre: read the night's page. See Zumana's weekly nights.

Desa Kitsuné: guest DJs and Bali's own

Desa Kitsuné's Garden parties in Canggu run every Tuesday and Friday, "rain or shine". Tuesdays bring guest DJs; Fridays celebrate Bali-based DJs from international backgrounds. Mixmag Asia, in 2024, described the Garden coming alive on those nights "with a diverse range of beat purveyors". Here too the genre follows the booking. See Tuesday or Friday at Desa Kitsuné.

  • Atlas Beach Club, also on Berawa Beach, has DJs at the pool bar through the day.
  • White Rock Beach Club near Uluwatu has resident DJs every day and foam parties at weekends.

How to find the right sound for you

  1. Start with the [events page](/events). Each night's page shows who is playing and whether it has a guestlist, tickets only, or both.
  2. Choose the format before the genre. A sunset set, an all-day beach party and a late club night feel very different, even with the same style of music.
  3. Look up the artist yourself, not the venue: the artist is what sets the sound.
  4. Ask [the concierge](/concierge). Tell us what you like, and we suggest nights that fit and check what can be arranged.

Before you go

All three Savaya Group venues are 21+ with a passport or driver's licence and ask for smart casual; see the club dress code guide. Registration on a guestlist never guarantees complimentary entry, and a table is the only reserved space. FirstBali books tables with the venue; a table is yours once the venue confirms it, and any deposit follows the venue's terms and is not a confirmation. An assistant answers at any hour, and the team works through the Bali day and evening.
