Bali club photo rules: phones, cameras and drones
Can you take photos at Savaya, Zumana or El Kabron? Phones yes; professional cameras, tripods and drones no. Each venue's own camera rules, and where a venue publishes none.

In Bali's clubs and beach clubs, your phone is welcome and almost everything else is not. Savaya and Zumana list professional cameras, tripods and drones among the items you may not bring in; El Kabron goes further and refuses any hand-held camera, selfie stick or video camera, and bans photoshoots outright. Below, each venue's own words, then where the rules stop.
The short version
- Phone: fine everywhere we checked, within the venue's limits.
- Professional camera, tripod, drone: refused at Savaya, Zumana and El Kabron.
- Photoshoot or commercial filming: strictly prohibited at El Kabron; at the others, ask the venue first.
- Bags are searched at Savaya and Zumana, so a camera is found at the door, not inside.
Savaya
Savaya's FAQ lists what you are "not permitted to bring" on regular days of operation, and the list includes a professional camera, tripods and drones. Bags, backpacks and purses are all subject to search. Phones are not on the list. The clifftop and The Cube are what people photograph; a phone is the way to do it.
Zumana
Zumana, at Sunset Bay in Kuta, publishes the same kind of list: professional cameras, tripods and drones are prohibited, along with props and inflatables, and every bag is searched. ZENÍA, the sculpture at the centre of the club, is photographed by phone.

El Kabron
El Kabron, on the cliffs of Pecatu, has the most detailed policy we found. In its own words:
Smartphone cameras are welcome in El Kabron Bali.
But it does not permit hand-held cameras, selfie sticks, video cameras, drones or other professional or amateur filming equipment. Such equipment is held at reception for the length of your visit, and "no exceptions will be made". All types of photoshoots and commercial filming are strictly prohibited, and staff can stop smartphone filming if it disturbs other guests or looks like a photoshoot.
That last line matters for groups: a phone on a stick, a ring light or a long staged session can be stopped even though the phone itself is allowed.
Koral, at The Apurva Kempinski
Koral, the hotel's aquarium restaurant in Nusa Dua, allows photos with a phone only, from your seat or the bar lounge. Professional cameras are not allowed. If a photographer is part of a dinner plan, Koral is not the place for it; see the Apurva Kempinski dining guide.
Savaya Bali
Clubs · Uluwatu
Savaya is a clifftop club in Pecatu, Uluwatu, set 100 metres above the Indian Ocean between jungle and limestone cliffs, with pools and The Cube, the landmark that frames its horizon. Named the number-one club in Asia three years running (2024–2026) and fifth in the world in 2026 in DJ Mag's Top 100 Clubs, it is open daily: Last Light every Monday, weekday nights, and international headliners at weekends. Strictly 21+, smart casual.
Zumana
Beach clubs · Kuta
Zumana is a beach club at Sunset Bay in Kuta, a Savaya Group property designed by Rockwell Group around beachfront daybeds, poolside spaces, bars and an open-air dance floor. Its centrepiece is ZENÍA, "The Eternal Host", a 10-metre sculpture by Daniel Popper made with Balinese artisans from Ubud, and its restaurant is Manuza. Open daily: Zumana Sunday, Monday and Tuesday every week, headliners on Wednesdays and Fridays, Ritual of the Sun on Saturdays. 21+, smart casual.
El Kabron
Beach clubs · Uluwatu
El Kabron stands on the limestone cliffs of Pecatu in Uluwatu, above the Indian Ocean, and has been open since 2011. It has three parts: the Hedonism Lounge, an adults-only infinity-pool area with daybeds and sofas; the Sunset Theater at the cliff edge, set up for sunset dinners; and a Mediterranean restaurant serving seafood, oysters, paella and steak. Its sunset parties bring DJs with live saxophone, violin and trumpet, with the White Sunset Party, the Afro House Sunset Party and pool parties among the weekly regulars.
The Apurva Kempinski
Restaurants · Nusa Dua
The Apurva Kempinski Bali is a five-star resort on the cliffs of Nusa Dua, facing the Indian Ocean, and its dining spreads across several venues. Koral, which the hotel presents as Bali's first aquarium restaurant, serves set and tasting menus beside the tanks, adults only at dinner. Izakaya by OKU is a sister to OKU in Jakarta; Reef Beach Club sits on the sand beside a 42-metre infinity pool; Bai Yun serves hot pot and dim sum; L'Atelier by Cyril Kongo is a lounge with ocean views and Mediterranean tapas.
What people come to photograph
The rules matter because each of these venues is built around a view. Savaya sits on the Pecatu clifftop above the Indian Ocean, with The Cube framing its horizon, and its Monday Last Light is a sunset set played from The Cube. Zumana is laid out around beachfront daybeds and an open-air dance floor at Sunset Bay, with ZENÍA, a sculpture made with Balinese artisans from Ubud, at its centre. El Kabron's Sunset Theater is at the cliff edge, set up for sunset dinners. Koral serves its menus beside the aquarium tanks.
All of it is meant to be photographed, and all of it can be, by phone. The best picture is usually taken from your own seat: a table or a daybed gives you a fixed place to shoot from without standing in anyone's way. See the Bali beach-club daybed guide.
Where venues publish nothing
White Rock's FAQ and Les Toilettes' house rules say nothing about cameras, and Desa Kitsuné's FAQ publishes no camera rule either. Silence is not permission: the door decides on the night, and bags are often checked. If you want to bring anything more than a phone, ask first.
Our advice
None of this is a venue rule; it is how to stay inside all of the rules above.
- Bring the phone, leave the rest. A camera refused at the door has to go back to the car or sit at reception.
- No drone. Not one of the venues above allows it.
- Keep it short. Long filming sessions are what staff stop, even on a phone.
- Planning a shoot? A proposal, a birthday or a brand shoot with a photographer needs the venue's agreement in advance. See a proposal in Bali.
