Mother-daughter trip to Bali: spa, dinners, one night out

A mother-daughter trip to Bali: a spa morning, a long lunch at Desa Kitsuné, a beach day in Nusa Dua, dinners for two and, if you both want it, one evening at Savaya, Zumana or Desa Kitsuné.

A mother-daughter trip to Bali works when each day has one shared thing at its centre: a spa morning at Regent Bali Canggu or White Rock, a long lunch and some shopping at Desa Kitsuné, a beach day at Le Bleu in Nusa Dua, then a dinner for two. If both of you are 21 or over and want it, add one evening at Savaya, Zumana or Desa Kitsuné.

Agree on the pace first

Two generations rarely want the same rhythm. Before choosing places, agree on how many evenings out, how many early nights, and whether a night at a club is in the plan at all. A trip with one big evening and several gentle ones is easier to share than a week of parties. The spa day guide and the long lunch guide help fill the quieter days.

A spa morning together

  • Regent Bali Canggu, the beachfront resort on Batu Bolong, is home to the first Regent Spa & Wellness. Its Beach House pairs a pool and the ocean breeze with craft cocktails and seafood for the afternoon.
  • White Rock Beach Club, on Melasti Beach near Uluwatu, has a spa as well as daybeds, sofas and cabanas around a lagoon pool and a large covered restaurant.

A day at Desa Kitsuné

Desa Kitsuné, in Canggu, is a lifestyle village by the Savaya Group with the French-Japanese brand Maison Kitsuné, set in a large garden. By day it is coffee at Café Kitsuné, a look round the Maison Kitsuné boutique and lunch at Ina Ré, whose chef brings together Mediterranean flavours and Latin American street food. Ina Ré's Sunday brunch has its own menu, and so do Courtyard Saturdays. The garden pool is decorative, not for swimming. See the Maison Kitsuné guide and Café Kitsuné.

A beach day in Nusa Dua

Le Bleu, on Nusa Dua beach, is a beachfront restaurant and beach club in blue and white, with sunbeds, cabanas, terraces and an indoor dining room. Its weekly programme includes yoga and cocktail workshops, a way to do something together rather than side by side. The kitchen leans on seafood, with vegetarian and vegan options.

Dinners for two

Pick dinners for their setting. Sardine, in Seminyak, is an open-air bamboo building over the rice paddies. Koral, the aquarium restaurant at The Apurva Kempinski in Nusa Dua, is adults only at dinner and serves set and tasting menus beside the tanks. Rock Bar, below AYANA in Jimbaran, lets you watch the sun set over the sea from the rocks; non-resident visitors can reserve.

Sardine

Sardine

Restaurants · Seminyak

Sardine by K-Club is a seafood restaurant on Jalan Petitenget in Seminyak, set in an open-air bamboo building that looks over a stretch of rice paddies, with a terrace for lunch or dinner. The kitchen cooks the daily catch (yellowfin tuna, scallops, snapper) in a modern Mediterranean style, with vegetables from its own farms and a vegetarian set menu. Evenings can run late: Les Toilettes, the hidden club on site, hosts DJs, and once a month The Gates of Bali brings fire dancers and aerial acts.

The Apurva Kempinski

The Apurva Kempinski

Restaurants · Nusa Dua

The Apurva Kempinski Bali is a five-star resort on the cliffs of Nusa Dua, facing the Indian Ocean, and its dining spreads across several venues. Koral, which the hotel presents as Bali's first aquarium restaurant, serves set and tasting menus beside the tanks, adults only at dinner. Izakaya by OKU is a sister to OKU in Jakarta; Reef Beach Club sits on the sand beside a 42-metre infinity pool; Bai Yun serves hot pot and dim sum; L'Atelier by Cyril Kongo is a lounge with ocean views and Mediterranean tapas.

Rock Bar

Rock Bar

Bars · Jimbaran

Rock Bar is AYANA Bali's cliffside bar in Jimbaran, stretching some 270 metres along the rocks above the ocean, with 880 seats spread over 22 areas. Guests reach it by inclinator, watch the sun set over the sea, then stay as the DJs play on. The bar pours cocktails inspired by the colours of the sea alongside Mediterranean tapas built on Jimbaran Bay seafood. Non-resident visitors can reserve; the Round Deck is kept for villa guests and the Top Bar for hotel guests. Payment by card or QR only.

One evening out, if you both want it

The three partner clubs are 21+, so this evening is only for a daughter who is 21 or over, and both of you need a valid photo ID, a passport or a driver's licence. Dress is smart casual.

  • Savaya, on the clifftop in Pecatu: Last Light, every Monday, is a sunset set from The Cube, a gentle way to see the club.
  • Desa Kitsuné: the garden becomes the party every Tuesday and Friday, rain or shine, a short walk from your lunch table of the day before.
  • Zumana, at Sunset Bay in Kuta: open daily, with Ritual of the Sun on Saturdays and Zumana Sunday.

A table is the only reserved space at the three; its minimum spend is set by the venue for that night. The guestlist is the alternative: each guest registers for the night on its page, entry is complimentary before the cutoff shown there, and registration never guarantees entry. The events page shows what is on.

Getting around together

A car with driver keeps the days easy: a Toyota Alphard for the two of you, booked with the same message as the table or the spa. See the private driver guide.

How FirstBali arranges it

Tell the concierge your dates, where you are staying and what each of you wants from the trip. We ask the venues and arrange the car; a booking is yours once the venue confirms it, and any deposit follows the venue's terms and is not a confirmation. An assistant answers at any hour, and the team follows up through the Bali day and evening.
