Anniversary weekend in Bali: a plan for two

An anniversary weekend in Bali: a sunset on the cliffs, a night out for two at Savaya, Zumana or Desa Kitsuné, a boat or a spa the day after. How to plan the two or three days, and what to book first.

For an anniversary weekend in Bali, give each day one moment and nothing more: a sunset on the cliffs on the first evening, a night out together on the second — Savaya, Zumana or Desa Kitsuné, all three of which say couples are strongly preferred at the door — and a boat or a spa on the last day. Book the moment that matters most to you first, then fill the rest around it.

One weekend, three moods

An anniversary weekend is not a list of restaurants. The couples who enjoy it most usually keep one evening quiet, one evening loud and one day slow. If what you want is the single perfect dinner, the anniversary guide is about exactly that; this guide is about the shape of the days around it.

Evening one: the sunset

Start on the cliffs of the south.

  • Rock Bar, AYANA Bali's cliffside bar in Jimbaran: reached by inclinator, along the rocks above the ocean, where guests watch the sun set over the sea and stay as the DJs play on. Non-resident visitors can reserve; payment is by card or QR only.
  • El Kabron, on the limestone cliffs of Pecatu: its Sunset Theater at the cliff edge is set up for sunset dinners, and the Hedonism Lounge is an adults-only infinity-pool area with daybeds and sofas.

For dinner afterwards, Koral at The Apurva Kempinski in Nusa Dua, which the hotel presents as Bali's first aquarium restaurant, serves set and tasting menus beside the tanks, adults only at dinner. More sunsets are in the sunset spots guide.

Evening two: a night out for two

All three Savaya Group venues state that "mixed groups and couples are strongly preferred" — a couple fits that preference, although no list or ticket guarantees entry and management decides. Choose by the night of the week:

  • Desa Kitsuné, Canggu: the Garden becomes the party every Tuesday and Friday, rain or shine. Ina Ré, the village's restaurant, is the dinner on the same grounds.
  • Zumana, Sunset Bay in Kuta: headliners on Wednesdays and Fridays, Ritual of the Sun on Saturdays, Zumana Sunday every week, with Manuza as its restaurant.
  • Savaya, the Pecatu clifftop in Uluwatu: Last Light every Monday, a sunset set from The Cube; international headliners at weekends.

A table for two is the only reserved space; its minimum spend is set by the venue per night, and it is yours once the venue confirms it. All three are 21+ with a valid photo ID, smart casual. The details per venue: Savaya anniversary, Zumana anniversary, Desa Kitsuné anniversary, and a club table for two.

If you would rather dance at dinner than at a club, Akar near Ubud turns festive on Friday and Saturday nights, with live DJs, dancers and a laser show, in the jungle.

The last day: the sea or the spa

Leave the last day almost empty.

  • On the water: two trips on FirstBali's boat list are made for two — Dinner for two at sea, served on board a private yacht, and Nusa Lembongan at sundown, a private cruise. Keep a spare day in mind in case the sea does not cooperate; see the sunset cruise guide.
  • At a spa: Regent Bali Canggu is home to the first Regent Spa & Wellness, and White Rock Beach Club on Melasti Beach has a spa of its own.

Where to stay

The weekend above spans Uluwatu, Jimbaran, Nusa Dua and Canggu. Base yourselves where the night that matters most takes place, and let a driver handle the rest: an Alphard with driver, or a limousine on request, booked with the same message as the table — see our transport page. A private villa makes the mornings yours; browse our villas.

How FirstBali arranges it

Tell the concierge your dates, the night you want to celebrate and the mood of each day. We check which nights are on, ask the venues for the tables and add the boat or the car. If there is a surprise, say so; touches such as flowers are requests we pass on, and nothing is promised until the venue says yes. A deposit follows the venue's own terms and is not a confirmation. An assistant answers at any hour; the team works through the Bali day and evening.

Questions we get asked

+How should we plan an anniversary weekend in Bali?

One moment per day: a sunset on the cliffs, a night out for two, then a boat or a spa. Book the moment that matters most first.

+Are couples welcome at Savaya, Zumana and Desa Kitsuné?

All three say mixed groups and couples are strongly preferred, though no guestlist or ticket guarantees entry.

+Can we book a table for two at a club?

Yes, through the concierge: the minimum spend is set by the venue per night, and the table is yours once the venue confirms it.

+Is there a boat trip for a couple?

Dinner for two at sea and Nusa Lembongan at sundown are both on FirstBali's boat list, subject to the sea and to confirmation.

+Can you arrange flowers or a surprise?

We pass the request on to the venue and tell you what it can do; nothing is promised until it says yes.
