Bali festive season nightlife: December and January

In December and January, the partner clubs' terms change night by night and many nights are ticketed only. What changes over the festive season, what does not, and why planning early matters.

The festive season is Bali's busiest stretch for nightlife, and the rules move with it. Through December and into January, the terms at Savaya, Zumana and Desa Kitsuné change from night to night, many nights are ticketed only, and tables go early. Plan the nights that matter well ahead, and check each night's own page rather than assuming the usual weekly pattern holds.

What changes over the festive season

Terms change night by night. All year, each night sets its own terms on its own page. Over the festive season that matters more: the regular weekly nights can give way to special programmes, and a night that would normally open a guestlist may be ticketed only.

Many nights are ticketed only. A ticketed-only night has no list. Buy official tickets only through the venue's own channel, linked from the night's page. At Savaya, tickets are primarily for standing room only.

A list can still open later. Terms are not fixed when a night is first announced: a night shown as ticketed only can open a guestlist closer to the date. Check again rather than giving up.

Demand is at its highest. Visitors and residents are out on the same nights, so the best spots, and especially tables, are the first thing to go.

What does not change

  • 21 and over, with a valid photo ID: a passport or a driver's licence. See ID at the door.
  • The guestlist is the venue's own. When a night has one, you register individually on that night's page and receive a digital ticket by email. Joining is free; entry is complimentary before that night's cutoff and reduced after it, and registration does not guarantee complimentary entry.
  • Mixed groups and couples are strongly preferred at all three clubs.
  • A table is the only reserved space. Its minimum spend is set by the venue for each night; on the Savaya and Zumana maps it includes food and beverage credit.
  • Savaya is cashless, bags are searched, lockers are limited, no luggage and no outside food or drink. Re-entry at Savaya and Zumana is only with a table.

Why booking early matters

Over the festive season the question is less which club than whether there is still room. A table is the one thing that reserves you a place, and it is the first thing to run short on the busiest nights.

  1. Decide your key nights first. One or two nights you would be disappointed to miss, rather than a plan for every evening.
  2. Ask for the table early. FirstBali books with the venue; the minimum spend is the venue's for that night and nothing is quoted before the venue sets it.
  3. Wait for the venue's confirmation. The table is yours once the venue confirms it. Any deposit follows the venue's terms and is not a confirmation.
  4. For the other nights, watch the pages. Guestlists and tickets are released night by night.

Our table booking guide explains the process in full.

The three partner clubs over the holidays

Savaya, on the Uluwatu clifftop, is the island's most famous name: DJ Mag ranks it the number one club in Asia from 2024 to 2026 and fifth in the world in 2026. Its headline nights are the ones most likely to be ticketed. See the Savaya guide.

Zumana, at Sunset Bay in Kuta, is the Savaya Group's newest property, opened in August 2026. Ritual of the Sun on Saturdays and Zumana Sunday are its regular fixtures, and the festive programme is on each night's page.

Desa Kitsuné, in Canggu, normally holds its garden parties on Tuesdays and Fridays, rain or shine; the festive weeks are when to check its pages most closely.

Around the night

The season is also when restaurants fill first. If dinner before the club matters, book it at the same time as the table; see dinner and a club night. Plan the ride home ahead too: roads are at their busiest, and a driver arranged in advance saves the end of the evening (private driver).

The rainy season also runs through these months. Desa Kitsuné's garden parties go ahead rain or shine; elsewhere, a light layer and shoes that cope with a wet path help.

Christmas and New Year's Eve

The two biggest nights of the season have their own guides: Christmas in Bali for dinners, brunch and family plans, and the New Year's Eve guestlist guide for the partner clubs on the night itself. For the meal before midnight, see New Year's Eve dinner.

How FirstBali helps

Tell the concierge your dates and the nights you care about. We send you each night's page when its guestlist or tickets appear, book tables with the venue, and check what can be arranged around them: dinner, a driver, a villa for the group. An assistant answers at any hour, the team through the Bali day and evening.
