Guys night out in Bali: steak, a bar, then a table

A guys night out in Bali that works: a serious steak dinner, a speakeasy or a cliff bar, then a table at Savaya, Zumana or Desa Kitsuné, because the door prefers mixed groups.

Updated October 26, 2026 · 4 min read

For a group of guys, the best night out in Bali starts at the table, not at the door. Begin with a steak dinner, move to a speakeasy or a cliff bar, and finish at Savaya, Zumana or Desa Kitsuné — ideally with a table, because all three clubs say mixed groups and couples are strongly preferred and the guestlist guarantees nothing. This guide is the evening itself; the door terms, club by club, are in group of guys in Bali.

Start with the grill

A long dinner sets the pace and gets everyone in one place. The catalogue's steakhouses:

  • Aged & Butchered in Berawa, the island branch of a Jakarta dry-aged steakhouse, inside The Komu hotel: a meat library of dry-aged cuts over coffee-wood charcoal, yakiniku-style grills at the table where the chefs cook in front of you, and a sake fountain.
  • Akar, K Club's steakhouse north of Ubud in the jungle, grills Australian and Japanese cuts over charcoal; on Friday and Saturday nights dinner turns festive with live DJs, dancers and a laser show. It has won Best Luxury Steakhouse in Indonesia at the World Luxury Restaurant Awards.
  • Jade by Todd English in Berawa works around a wood-fire grill, with a menu designed for sharing among friends.
Aged & Butchered

Aged & Butchered

Restaurants · Berawa

Aged & Butchered Bali is the island branch of the Jakarta dry-aged steakhouse of the same name, run by MDA Restaurants inside The Komu hotel in Berawa. The draw is its meat library of dry-aged cuts, grilled over coffee-wood charcoal, with Japanese yakiniku-style grills at the table where the chefs cook in front of guests. The moody, stylish room adds a sake fountain, an extensive wine collection and an outdoor bar area. An address built around the grill, for an evening of serious steak.

Akar

Akar

Restaurants · Ubud

Akar, meaning “root”, is the steakhouse of K Club in Kedisan, Tegallalang, north of Ubud, set in the greenery of the jungle. Spread over two floors with two bars and an open kitchen, it grills Australian and Japanese cuts, Wagyu included, over charcoal, alongside seafood, charcoal-roasted bone marrow and a curated wine list. On Friday and Saturday nights dinner turns festive, with live DJs, dancers and a laser show. Akar has won Best Luxury Steakhouse in Indonesia at the World Luxury Restaurant Awards.

Jade by Todd English

Jade by Todd English

Restaurants · Berawa

Jade by Todd English is a Mediterranean restaurant and bar in Berawa, whose culinary direction draws on American chef Todd English, known for his flagship restaurant Olives. The kitchen works around a wood-fire grill, with a focus on local farms and producers, on a menu designed for sharing among friends. The cocktail bar gives its drinks an Asian touch. Warm lighting and earthy tones set the room, and the mood shifts as the night goes on, with a daily DJ and weekly late-night events.

Then a bar

Between dinner and the club, a bar keeps the group together while the night warms up:

  • The Shady Pig, Berawa: a speakeasy themed on Birmingham bootleggers behind an unmarked door — you need the password — with experimental cocktails and DJs later in the night.
  • Rock Bar, Jimbaran: AYANA's cliffside bar, reached by inclinator, with DJs after sunset. Payment by card or QR only.

Pick the club by the night

  1. Savaya, Pecatu clifftop: international headliners at weekends, Last Light from The Cube on Mondays, People of the Sun on Sundays. DJ Mag's Top 100 Clubs named it number one in Asia from 2024 to 2026 and fifth in the world in 2026. Cashless, bags searched, no outside food or drink.
  2. Zumana, Sunset Bay in Kuta: headliners on Wednesdays and Fridays, Ritual of the Sun on Saturdays, Zumana Sunday, and a weeknight rotation including Made in Kuta.
  3. Desa Kitsuné, Canggu: the Garden party every Tuesday and Friday, rain or shine. Note the men's guestlist cutoff is earlier than the women's.

In Seminyak, MU:IN and Les Toilettes are the alternatives; both are 21+. MU:IN is built around a towering sound system and a stage that puts the DJ in the middle of the crowd; Les Toilettes shares its address with Sardine, so dinner and the club can be one stop.

Why the table matters for a group of men

The venues publish the same line: mixed groups and couples are strongly preferred, and registration on the guest list does not guarantee complimentary entry — management decides. A men-only group that relies on the list is relying on the door's discretion. A table changes that:

  • It is the only reserved space in the club.
  • Its minimum spend is set by the venue for that night; the Savaya and Zumana maps say it includes food and beverage credit.
  • At Savaya and Zumana it is the only way to leave and come back in.
  • It is yours once the venue confirms it. Any deposit follows the venue's terms and is not a confirmation.

If the group still prefers the list, each person registers individually on the night's page and receives a digital ticket by email. Some nights are ticketed only; then buy only through the venue's own channel. Details in the table booking guide and door policies.

Small things that help

  • Everyone carries photo ID: passport or driver's licence. All three clubs are 21+.
  • Smart casual: see the men's dress code.
  • Arrive together, not in waves of two.
  • One car there and back: a van fits the group; see a van with driver.

How FirstBali helps

Tell the concierge the night, the club and the head count. We book the dinner if it can be arranged, ask the venue for a table and share its terms, and line up a driver. An assistant answers at any hour, the team through the Bali day and evening. No one can promise entry: the door belongs to the venue.

Questions we get asked

+Can a group of guys get into Bali clubs?

Yes, but Savaya, Zumana and Desa Kitsuné all say mixed groups and couples are strongly preferred, and a guestlist never guarantees entry. A table is the only reserved space.

+Where should we eat before going out?

For steak, Aged & Butchered or Jade by Todd English in Berawa, or Akar north of Ubud, where Friday and Saturday dinners come with DJs and a laser show.

+Is the men's cutoff different at Desa Kitsuné?

Yes, it is earlier than the women's. The exact cutoff is shown on each night's page.

+Can we leave Savaya and come back?

Only with a table. The same rule applies at Zumana.

+Does a deposit confirm our table?

No. The table is yours once the venue confirms it; any deposit follows the venue's terms.

+Can FirstBali organise the transport?

Yes: tell the concierge the head count and we check which vehicle with driver can be arranged, there and back.
