Bali night out without a club: sunsets, dinners, bars
Not every great Bali night ends on a dance floor. Cliff bars at sunset, a hidden speakeasy, an omakase counter, a dinner show: how to build an evening in Bali without a nightclub.
Updated October 21, 2026 · 3 min read

A great night in Bali does not need a nightclub. Start with the sunset at a cliff bar such as Rock Bar or El Kabron, go on to a long dinner — an omakase counter, a seafood table over the rice fields, a dinner show — and finish with a cocktail behind a speakeasy door. FirstBali reserves each step through the concierge.
Step one: the sunset
The west-facing coast is made for this.
- [Rock Bar](/venues/rock-bar), AYANA's bar on the rocks of Jimbaran, reached by inclinator, where guests watch the sun set over the sea and stay on as the DJs play. Non-resident visitors can reserve, and payment is by card or QR only.
- [El Kabron](/venues/el-kabron), on the Pecatu cliffs, has a Sunset Theater at the cliff edge set up for sunset dinners.
- [Luna Beach Club](/venues/luna-beach-club), on the Tabanan coast inside Nuanu, where DJs play through sunset and evenings bring fire and light shows.
- The sea itself: a sunset cruise puts the horizon on every side.

Rock Bar
Bars · Jimbaran
Rock Bar is AYANA Bali's cliffside bar in Jimbaran, stretching some 270 metres along the rocks above the ocean, with 880 seats spread over 22 areas. Guests reach it by inclinator, watch the sun set over the sea, then stay as the DJs play on. The bar pours cocktails inspired by the colours of the sea alongside Mediterranean tapas built on Jimbaran Bay seafood. Non-resident visitors can reserve; the Round Deck is kept for villa guests and the Top Bar for hotel guests. Payment by card or QR only.
El Kabron
Beach clubs · Uluwatu
El Kabron stands on the limestone cliffs of Pecatu in Uluwatu, above the Indian Ocean, and has been open since 2011. It has three parts: the Hedonism Lounge, an adults-only infinity-pool area with daybeds and sofas; the Sunset Theater at the cliff edge, set up for sunset dinners; and a Mediterranean restaurant serving seafood, oysters, paella and steak. Its sunset parties bring DJs with live saxophone, violin and trumpet, with the White Sunset Party, the Afro House Sunset Party and pool parties among the weekly regulars.
Luna Beach Club
Beach clubs · Tabanan
Luna Beach Club is perched on the cliffs of the Tabanan coast, inside Nuanu Creative City by Nyanyi Beach, west of Canggu. Its bamboo architecture by Inspiral Architects won a Silver award for sustainable and green architecture at the 2024 International Architecture & Design Awards. The complex brings together two pools, jumping platforms and a water slide, Restaurant 369, the Utopia Cave Club and the Gardenia bamboo tree pods. DJs play through sunset, and evenings bring fire and light shows.
Step two: dinner that is the evening
Pick a table that is an experience in itself.
- [Miss Fish](/venues/miss-fish) in Berawa: a seasonal omakase at the Omakase Bar, a chef-guided onyx counter, with more than forty sakes and Japanese whiskies. Smart casual.
- [Sardine](/venues/sardine) in Seminyak: the daily catch in an open-air bamboo building looking over rice paddies.
- [MOI](/venues/moi) in Berawa: Bazaar MOI is an Eastern Mediterranean dinner spectacle with dancers and costumes.
- [Akar](/venues/akar) north of Ubud: a steakhouse in the jungle, grilling over charcoal, with live DJs, dancers and a laser show on Friday and Saturday nights.
- [The Apurva Kempinski](/venues/the-apurva-kempinski) in Nusa Dua: Koral, presented by the hotel as Bali's first aquarium restaurant, serves set and tasting menus beside the tanks, adults only at dinner.
- [Riviera Berawa](/venues/riviera-berawa): fresh pasta, an extensive wine list and candlelit tables.

Miss Fish
Restaurants · Berawa
Miss Fish is a Japanese restaurant and late-night venue on Jalan Raya Semat in Berawa, Canggu, open since 2022. Executive Chef Carlos Barvo leads a seasonal omakase that pairs Japanese technique with European and Latin American influences. Guests choose between the Omakase Bar, a chef-guided onyx counter, the open-air Patio and the Lounge for cocktails and shared plates, and the bar holds more than 40 sakes and Japanese whiskies. Later in the evening, DJs take over. Dress code: smart casual.
Sardine
Restaurants · Seminyak
Sardine by K-Club is a seafood restaurant on Jalan Petitenget in Seminyak, set in an open-air bamboo building that looks over a stretch of rice paddies, with a terrace for lunch or dinner. The kitchen cooks the daily catch (yellowfin tuna, scallops, snapper) in a modern Mediterranean style, with vegetables from its own farms and a vegetarian set menu. Evenings can run late: Les Toilettes, the hidden club on site, hosts DJs, and once a month The Gates of Bali brings fire dancers and aerial acts.
Moi
Restaurants · Berawa
MOI Canggu is a Mediterranean restaurant on Jalan Pantai Berawa, inspired by the Aegean and by Bodrum, home of its sister address MOI Bodrum. The kitchen works with fire and Mediterranean flavours, for dinners meant to be lingered over, and the cocktails draw on sun-warmed botanicals. After sunset the mood shifts and the evening turns into a party. Themed nights include Monday Society and Bazaar MOI, an Eastern Mediterranean dinner spectacle with dancers and costumes.
Akar
Restaurants · Ubud
Akar, meaning “root”, is the steakhouse of K Club in Kedisan, Tegallalang, north of Ubud, set in the greenery of the jungle. Spread over two floors with two bars and an open kitchen, it grills Australian and Japanese cuts, Wagyu included, over charcoal, alongside seafood, charcoal-roasted bone marrow and a curated wine list. On Friday and Saturday nights dinner turns festive, with live DJs, dancers and a laser show. Akar has won Best Luxury Steakhouse in Indonesia at the World Luxury Restaurant Awards.
Step three: a drink after dinner
- [The Shady Pig](/venues/the-shady-pig) in Berawa is a 1920s-Birmingham speakeasy behind an unmarked door: you need the password to get in. The cocktails lean experimental — distillation, barrel ageing, fermentation.
- [Regent Bali Canggu](/venues/regent-bali-canggu): The Beach House pairs its pool and ocean breeze with craft cocktails.
- [The Apurva Kempinski](/venues/the-apurva-kempinski): L'Atelier by Cyril Kongo is a lounge with ocean views.

The Shady Pig
Bars · Berawa
The Shady Pig is a speakeasy on Jalan Pantai Berawa and the original bar of The Shady Family, the group behind The Shady Fox, The Shady Flamingo and The Shady Bunny. The theme is 1920s Birmingham bootleggers: the bar hides behind an unmarked door, and you need the password to get in. Cocktails lean experimental, using distillation, barrel ageing and fermentation, from the Shelby to a barrel-aged Negroni. Small plates, pinchos and sandwiches come with the drinks, and DJs take over later in the night.
Regent Bali Canggu
Restaurants · Canggu
Regent Bali Canggu is IHG's beachfront resort on Batu Bolong, on Canggu's southwest coast, and the first Regent in Indonesia. Designed by WATG with interiors by HBA, it has 150 rooms and suites. Two of its restaurants are led by Chef Andrew Walsh: Sazón, a Mediterranean neighbourhood hideaway, and CURE Bali, European cooking shaped by Asian flavours. The Beach House pairs its pool and ocean breeze with craft cocktails and seafood, and the resort is home to the first Regent Spa & Wellness.
A softer Canggu evening
Desa Kitsuné is more than its Tuesday and Friday garden parties. On the other nights, the village is Ina Ré — Mediterranean flavours and Latin American street food, with private dining rooms for groups — alongside Café Kitsuné and the Maison Kitsuné boutique. Dinner at Ina Ré is a Canggu evening in its own right; if it falls on a party night, the garden is right there.

When the club might still tempt you
A sunset can turn into a party without a nightclub. Zumana, the Savaya Group's beach club at Sunset Bay in Kuta, runs Ritual of the Sun on Saturdays and Zumana Sunday every week — daybeds and an open-air dance floor rather than a dark room. And Savaya's Last Light on Mondays is a sunset set from The Cube on the Uluwatu clifftop. See Bali sunset party.

Putting it together
A car with a driver links the three steps, since sunsets, dinners and bars are rarely in the same area — see a driver for your night out. Tell the concierge the night, the group and the mood. We reserve with each venue on your behalf, and each reservation is yours once the venue confirms it. An assistant answers at any hour; the team works through the Bali day and evening.
