Bali nightlife in May: planning a group trip
Planning a group trip to Bali in May, for a birthday, a hens or stag party or just friends? How the clubs' weekly nights, door terms and tables work for a group.
Updated October 26, 2026 · 4 min read

A group trip to Bali in May runs on the partner venues' weekly programmes, and the planning that matters is about the group itself: how the door treats it, who registers, and when a table is worth it. All three partner venues state that mixed groups and couples are strongly preferred, and every guest registers individually for the guestlist. Pick your nights below and check each one on our events page before you commit.

The weekly nights for a group
The recurring nights the venues publish give a group several big evenings in one week:
- Monday — Savaya's "Last Light", a sunset set from The Cube on the Uluwatu clifftop: a good first evening to bring the group together.
- Tuesday and Friday — Desa Kitsuné's garden parties in Canggu, "rain or shine" according to the venue.
- Weeknights — Zumana's rotation at Sunset Bay in Kuta, including "Made in Kuta".
- Saturday — Zumana's Ritual of the Sun.
- Weekend — Savaya's headliner nights; Sunday — Savaya's "People of the Sun" and Zumana Sunday.
For the celebration night itself, our guides to a birthday party, a hens party and a bachelor party go further.
How the door reads a group
The venues' own terms are short and worth knowing before you travel:
- Mixed groups and couples are strongly preferred at Savaya, Zumana and Desa Kitsuné. The terms word it as a preference; see the door policy guide.
- Registration does not guarantee complimentary entry. Management decides at the door.
- At Desa Kitsuné, the guestlist cutoff is earlier for men, as shown on the night's page.
- Everyone needs ID. All three are 21+ with a valid photo ID, a passport or a driver's licence, and that includes each member of the group.
Registering a group on the guestlist
There is no group registration: each guest registers individually on the night's page and receives their own digital ticket by email. Send the link to everyone in advance, and arrive together, before the cutoff shown on the night's page.
When a group should book a table
For a group, a table is often the simplest answer on a big night. It is the only reserved space, and at Savaya and Zumana it is also the only way to leave and come back in. The venue sets the minimum spend per night, and the Savaya and Zumana table maps state that it includes a food and beverage credit. FirstBali books the table with the venue; it is yours once the venue confirms it, and any deposit follows the venue's terms and is not a confirmation. See large group nights out.
Logistics for a group
- Transport. One vehicle for everyone keeps the group together: see a van with driver.
- A shared base. A group villa gives the group somewhere to meet before and after.
- Savaya's rules. Savaya is cashless, bags are searched, lockers are limited, and no luggage or outside food and drink are allowed.
Savaya Bali
Clubs · Uluwatu
Savaya is a clifftop club in Pecatu, Uluwatu, set 100 metres above the Indian Ocean between jungle and limestone cliffs, with pools and The Cube, the landmark that frames its horizon. Named the number-one club in Asia three years running (2024–2026) and fifth in the world in 2026 in DJ Mag's Top 100 Clubs, it is open daily: Last Light every Monday, weekday nights, and international headliners at weekends. Strictly 21+, smart casual.
Zumana
Beach clubs · Kuta
Zumana is a beach club at Sunset Bay in Kuta, a Savaya Group property designed by Rockwell Group around beachfront daybeds, poolside spaces, bars and an open-air dance floor. Its centrepiece is ZENÍA, "The Eternal Host", a 10-metre sculpture by Daniel Popper made with Balinese artisans from Ubud, and its restaurant is Manuza. Open daily: Zumana Sunday, Monday and Tuesday every week, headliners on Wednesdays and Fridays, Ritual of the Sun on Saturdays. 21+, smart casual.
Desa Kitsuné
Clubs · Canggu
Desa Kitsuné is a lifestyle village in the heart of Canggu — desa means village — set in a 5,000 m² garden by the Savaya Group with the French-Japanese brand Maison Kitsuné. Café Kitsuné, the Ina Ré restaurant and a Maison Kitsuné boutique share the grounds, and every Tuesday and Friday the Garden becomes the party, rain or shine: guest DJs on Tuesdays, Bali-based DJs on Fridays. Parties are 21+, smart casual.
Guestlist, ticket or table
- Guestlist. Each venue runs its own list. Register individually on the night's page and you receive a digital ticket by email. Joining is free; entry is complimentary before the cutoff shown on the night's page, reduced after it (earlier for men at Desa Kitsuné). Registration does not guarantee complimentary entry, and mixed groups and couples are strongly preferred.
- Tickets. Some nights are ticketed only. Buy only through the venue's own channel, linked from the night's page.
- Table. The only reserved space. The venue sets its minimum spend per night; FirstBali books it with the venue, and it is yours once the venue confirms. Any deposit follows the venue's terms and is not a confirmation. At Savaya and Zumana, re-entry is only with a table.
- ID. All three are 21+ with a valid photo ID: a passport or a driver's licence.
