Anniversary at Desa Kitsuné: a day in the village

An anniversary at Desa Kitsuné can be a whole day in one Canggu village: coffee, the boutique, dinner at Ina Ré, and the garden party if it falls on a Tuesday or Friday. How to plan it.

Desa Kitsuné suits an anniversary because it is a village, not only a club: Café Kitsuné, the Maison Kitsuné boutique and the Ina Ré restaurant share the same garden in Canggu, and on Tuesdays and Fridays that garden becomes the party. You can mark the day quietly, with dinner at Ina Ré, or carry it on into the night. FirstBali arranges the dinner and the table through the concierge; each is yours once the venue confirms it.

Why the village works for an anniversary

Most anniversary plans in Bali mean moving between a restaurant, a bar and a club. At Desa Kitsuné, all three moods sit at one address. The Savaya Group created the village with the French-Japanese brand Maison Kitsuné, and desa means village: the idea is that you stay. For a couple, that removes the part of the evening nobody remembers fondly, the car between venues.

Three ways to shape the day

  1. The quiet version. A late coffee at Café Kitsuné, a look around the boutique, then dinner at Ina Ré. No party, no door, no dress code beyond what you would wear to dinner. It works on any day the restaurant is open.
  2. The full evening. Dinner at Ina Ré on a Tuesday or a Friday, then the garden party in the same village. On Tuesdays the garden hosts guest DJs; on Fridays, Bali-based DJs. The party is 21+, smart casual, with photo ID.
  3. The Saturday dinner. Ina Ré runs Courtyard Saturdays with its own menu. There is no garden party that night, which suits a couple who want a festive dinner without a club afterwards. See Courtyard Saturdays.

Dinner at Ina Ré

Ina Ré is where the occasion really happens. Chilean executive chef Cristian Encina brings together Mediterranean flavours and Latin American street food: paellas to share, ceviches, tacos, empanadas and wood-fired meats. The room draws on Balinese arts and crafts, with weavings and handmade materials.

The restaurant also has private dining rooms, which it describes as "perfect for special occasions or intimate gatherings", with tailored menus. They are designed for groups, so ask whether one can be arranged for two or for a small family party celebrating with you; the restaurant decides. The detail is in private dining at Ina Ré.

If the night goes on: a table for two

On a party night, a couple can join the venue's guestlist (free, registered one by one on the night's page) or take a table. A table is the only reserved space in the garden: its minimum spend is set by the venue for that night, and it is yours once the venue confirms it. For an anniversary, the table matters less for status than for having somewhere to sit together all night.

Couples are welcome at the door: the venue states that mixed groups and couples are strongly preferred. Registration still does not guarantee complimentary entry, and the cutoff shown on the night's page is earlier for men.

Personal touches: ask, never assume

A cake, a message on a plate, flowers on the table, a song: none of these is a published service, and none is promised here. Tell the concierge what you have in mind when you book, and we ask Ina Ré or the venue what it can do for your date. If the answer is yes, it comes from the venue, with its own terms. If you want the anniversary kept discreet, say so too.

The practical part

  • Bring photo ID for both of you if the party is on the plan: passport or driver's licence.
  • Dress for both halves: smart casual carries you from dinner to the garden. See the Desa Kitsuné dress code.
  • Rain is not a reason to cancel. The parties run "rain or shine"; rain at Desa Kitsuné explains what that means.
  • Get home with a driver rather than a scooter. FirstBali arranges a driver for the night.

Where FirstBali fits

Send the concierge the date, whether you want the quiet version or the full evening, and any touch you would like asked for. We book the dinner and, if you want it, the table, on your behalf. Nothing is confirmed until the venue confirms it; any deposit follows the venue's terms and is not in itself a confirmation. An assistant answers at any hour, the team through the Bali day and evening.

Questions we get asked

+Is Desa Kitsuné good for an anniversary?

It works well because the café, the boutique, Ina Ré and the garden party share one village in Canggu, so the whole day can happen in one place.

+Which day should we choose?

Tuesday or Friday if you want the garden party after dinner; Saturday for Ina Ré's Courtyard Saturdays without a party; any open day for a quiet dinner.

+Can Ina Ré give us a private room for two?

Ina Ré has private dining rooms designed for groups. The concierge asks whether one can be arranged for your date; the restaurant decides.

+Can you arrange a cake or flowers?

We ask the venue what it can do for your date. Nothing is promised until the venue says yes.

+Do we need ID for dinner only?

The 21+ rule with photo ID applies to the parties. If the garden party is part of your plan, both of you need a passport or driver's licence.

+Is our table confirmed once we pay a deposit?

No. Any deposit follows the venue's terms; the table is yours once the venue confirms it.

Want us to arrange it?

Tell the concierge what you have in mind — a table, a guestlist, a villa, a driver. The assistant answers at any hour; the team takes over from 9am to midnight Bali time.
