Does Desa Kitsuné run in the rain? Rain or shine, explained
Desa Kitsuné's Garden parties run every Tuesday and Friday "rain or shine", in the venue's words. Its terms still allow a cancellation for inclement weather. How to plan a wet night.

Yes: Desa Kitsuné's parties are meant to go ahead in the rain. The venue's own line is that they happen "every Tuesday & Friday in our Garden, rain or shine!" A shower is not, on its own, a reason to stay home. The venue's general terms do keep one door open, though: an event can be cancelled for inclement weather, and a guestlist registration does not carry over to another night.

What "rain or shine" means
Desa Kitsuné is a lifestyle village in Canggu, built by the Savaya Group with Maison Kitsuné, and its parties take over the Garden, an open-air space, twice a week. "Rain or shine" is the venue's promise that the Tuesday and Friday nights are not fair-weather events: the music plays, the bars serve and the party carries on when it rains.
That makes Desa Kitsuné a reasonable choice for a damp evening. It does not turn the Garden into an indoor club: you are still outdoors, so plan for being outdoors.
When a night can still be cancelled
The venue's terms say events can be cancelled for inclement weather. "Rain or shine" covers ordinary rain; it is not a guarantee against every storm. If the weather looks serious on the day:
- check the night's page on our events page before you leave;
- ask [the concierge](/concierge), who can check with the venue;
- remember that registrations are not transferable: if a night is called off, you register again on the page of the next night you want.
We never tell you a night is on until the venue says so, in rain or in sunshine.
The guestlist on a wet night
Nothing about the list changes with the weather. You register individually on the night's page, receive a digital ticket by email, and entry is complimentary before the cutoff shown on that page, reduced after it; the cutoff comes earlier for men. Registration does not guarantee complimentary entry, and mixed groups and couples are strongly preferred. On a rainy evening people tend to set off later, which is worth bearing in mind if you are aiming for the cutoff. The full rules are in the Desa Kitsuné guestlist guide.
Dressing for rain, inside the dress code
The dress code does not relax because it rains, and some obvious rain gear is on the refused list:
- Flip-flops and boots are both refused, as are hard-sole shoes. Choose closed, soft-soled shoes that cope with wet grass.
- Sportswear is refused, so a technical running jacket is a risk. A light layer that looks smart is the safer choice.
- Swimwear is refused too, however wet the evening gets.
The details are in the Desa Kitsuné dress code guide, and the rest of the packing list is in what to bring to Desa Kitsuné.
A table on a rainy night
A table is the only reserved space at Desa Kitsuné, which gives your group a fixed base for the evening. The venue's private-events page lists cabanas, bungalows, daybeds, terrace tables and sofas in the Garden; it does not say which of them are sheltered, and neither will we. If cover matters to you, say so when you ask the concierge: we pass the request to the venue, which decides the placement. A table is yours once the venue confirms it, its minimum spend is set by the venue per night, and any deposit follows the venue's terms and is not a confirmation.
Start with dinner
Ina Ré, the village's restaurant, shares the grounds with the Garden. A wet evening is a good one for keeping everything at one address: dinner first, then the party a few steps away. See dinner and party at Desa Kitsuné.
Desa Kitsuné
Clubs · Canggu
Desa Kitsuné is a lifestyle village in the heart of Canggu — desa means village — set in a 5,000 m² garden by the Savaya Group with the French-Japanese brand Maison Kitsuné. Café Kitsuné, the Ina Ré restaurant and a Maison Kitsuné boutique share the grounds, and every Tuesday and Friday the Garden becomes the party, rain or shine: guest DJs on Tuesdays, Bali-based DJs on Fridays. Parties are 21+, smart casual.
Ina Ré
Restaurants · Canggu
Ina Ré is the restaurant of Desa Kitsuné, the lifestyle village on Jalan Munduk Catu in Canggu. Chilean executive chef Cristian Encina brings together Mediterranean flavours and Latin American street food: paellas to share, ceviches, tacos, empanadas and wood-fired meats such as the Stockyard tomahawk. The space draws on Balinese arts and crafts, with handmade materials, weavings and traditional motifs, and includes private dining rooms for groups. Sunday brunch has its own menu, and so do Courtyard Saturdays.
Getting there in the rain
Rain makes a scooter a poor choice for a night out. A private driver drops you at the village and comes back when you are ready; FirstBali arranges drivers, and the route is covered in getting to Desa Kitsuné.
If you would rather be indoors
Desa Kitsuné's sister venues are also open-air: Savaya is a clifftop club with pools, and Zumana is a beach club at Sunset Bay. Savaya's terms allow weather cancellations too. If the forecast puts you off the outdoors altogether, the concierge can suggest an indoor dinner or bar instead and check what can be arranged.
How FirstBali helps
Tell the concierge the night, the group and whether cover matters. We book the table with the venue, send the guestlist page, organise the ride and tell you when the venue has confirmed. An assistant answers at any hour, and the team works through the Bali day and evening.
